Hi, anyone else experiencing network issues with Lycamobile SIM cards, today? The signal is spotty and, most importantly, I cannot connect to the Internet with it.
Ahah but I would like to understand if the SIM card is breaking, or if the issue is experienced by other users in the area.
Yes I've also been having issues today!!
I've had issues today as well, both network and internet. God knows how many different APN settings I've tried. Tried different phones too. Nothing. It's (Edge or signal lost) and network is either full bars or no bars (no service).
Did you manage to get a hold of them over the phone. Anyone ?
I didn't manage to call them today due to busy schedule and asking if it's worth attempting to do so tomorrow.
Thanks!
I tried calling, but it was too late so I was out of luck. Let's see how it goes tomorrow.
No worries. Hopefully, this gets fixed anytime soon. It's not like we need to have data and phone call capabiilities constantly, but you know work, daily stuff etc makes it problematic.
Joke's on us though, who didn't switch to a different provider.
Let us know if you figure it out. I'll try to do the same, although if I recall correctly tomorrow is a bank holiday in Denmark. :/
I also have been having issues- super frustrating- did you manage to get any help?
All day since about 1300. Its still not connecting.
Me too, I've been having connectivity issues since yesterday.
Still having issues here. I’m not even getting the code to access the app
Thanks for sharing. The broken SIM card happened to me as well, some years ago. I would not be so sure that it is not SIM-related. They might have disabled a bunch of SIM cards that are dated. I changed my SIM card probably 3+ years ago. They are supposed to disable SIM cards only if inactive but mine was active for sure!
I am getting a stable signal and am able to connect to LTE, again! Anyone else getting service back? Is it finally over?
Did you restart your phone or reset settings or did it come back automatically?
Since yesterday, I have been on Airplane mode and disabling it once in a while to check the situation. Mostly to avoid draining the battery due to the antenna trying over and over. Only recently it worked. But yeah since yesterday I have restarted a couple of times. Last time due to a system update.
mine just came back too :)) thanks
I am getting that as well, however the connection is so slow that I might as well use a pigeon.
I'm getting stable signal and able to connectto LTE. The 4g / 4g+ logos don't still appear at the top notification bar. Hmmm.
Lyca has been absolutely shit, their plan renewal shit the bed as well so my plan didn't get renewed even after I contacted and called with support earlier that day. But they were more than happy to drain my entire sim of money because my data stayed active. Day after I got a text saying they couldn't renew my plan because there was no money on it after they drained it all.
I bought a quick 5Gb plan as I have no access to wifi where I live but it was a waste of time and have barely been able to use any form of data since yesterday. On top of already struggling with having any type of stable connection for a month because the APN constantly switches away from Lyca because it is such a bad network I really just cannot recommend using Lyca anymore for people living here full time.
Just spend the extra cash to get a proper provider if you rely a lot on data.
Strange. For renewal, I recommend using their bundles codes. They are advertised in very small text under the description of their bundles. That should activate autorenewal, automatically. A couple of days before the bundle expires, they send me an SMS letting me know that it will auto-renew. I make sure that I have enough balance at that time. I purchase a top-up at any 7-Eleven, and use it hours before the renewal, to avoid the balance being used for other reasons.
For the last week only been getting 4G it 5G despite having great 5G connection for the past 2 months since I got the sim. Called and logged a complaint and they tried to call me 4 times in a row at 4am a day or two ago. They’ve not left a voicemail or tried to contact me since. It’s not a huge deal as the 4G connection works fine. But I should be getting 5G so it’s kind of annoying! Is anyone here in the U.K experiencing this? I’m interested. Are you getting spotty connection? Or straight up no signal?
I only noticed today that I'm not connected to 5g anymore. Only 4g. Also the option for preferred Network disappeared in the settings on my pixel phone. I used to get a great 5g signal at home. I dug deeper in the settings. And it says the 5g signal is restricted for some reasons
Restricted by your phone or by your carrier?
Perhaps it's the phone. Got the latest update a few days ago and this happened.
Could be, I’ll get back to you when I hear back from Lyca, it could be an update issue for me too, but I don’t think I’ve had an update recently and there isn’t another one available yet 🤷♂️
I got the May 5 security update. I'm contacting customer support now regarding my own issue.
Just got off the phone with Lyca, apparently on their end there is no issue. They say they can see I am connecting to 5G. They suggested trying my sim on another handset to see if that resolved the issue, but it didn’t work. They’ve re escalated it so now we wait!
Still no data. Calls work no problem. Anyone else still having issues?
Lyca is trash tourist scam that you get at the airport because you desperately need it and throw away at the first opportunity.
I agree with you but it costs a fraction of the other providers. Of course, I do not do anything with it before connecting to a respectable VPN. In order for their business to be profitable, I expect them to be selling every single action I do on the Internet. Better encrypt everything. And probably all other providers do the same, anyway.
LycaMobile has got to be the FlixBus of the phone networks..
