What the hell?
ProblemOk How do i set the correct tension on them? Ive looked but haven't gotten a straight answer!
What printer do you have?
It is an any cubic kobra max
there are red screws, twist so that the belt is taut, but not too tight
I wish they would give us a spec on it
Do - Full tight, then back off one complete turn. Should be very close. If belt is still too loose, may need new belt.
I keep em tight like a guitar string lol
Any cubic seems like they have serious belt slipping problem
A loose belt can slip on any machine using these.
It's a trivial task to tighten them.
Tighten 1/2 turn and try again.
But, I have found that mine (when it was new) was layer shifting Y when printing the 22min benchy. Belt was not the issue for me. I set the current from the 800 to 1100 and the 22min benchy came out as good as it was going to get.
"Set the current from 800 to 1100" Ok Im not sure what are referring to with that statement.
The stepper driver current. Mine was set for 800mA.
I set it to 1100mA. Max is 1200mA.
For the Y axis. My Kmax needed it to sling that big bed that fast without skipping steps.
I have heard strum the belt and it should sound like a mid bass note. This works for my Y axis but for my X (inside a channel) I set the tension feel like the Y after I set that.
I agree.
Task failed successfully
100%
I have the same printer and have experienced the same thing. It is possible the belts are loose (they should feel tight when you tap them, but keep in mind they are small, thin rubber; you don't want to stretch them, just keep them from jumping. It can just be a glitch- wipe the card you are using, reformat the card if necessary, and close out cura, then reopen and replace. I had a larger than life mannequin head jump like an inch.
Pretty good for a Kobra. I get those every 10 or so layers no matter how I adjust the belts LOL
Ive had a bunch of weird failures but generally all due to adhesion issues First time for a giant shift like that
It’s an extremely common issue with them. Normally it’s caused by striking the print, on other printers. On the Kobra, at least mine, it’s completely random and gets more frequent with time. I’m printing at 100mm/s or less now to reduce frequency. Normally my shifts are not that large.
I've been having problems with this lately, on an anycubic mega s. Belts are all tight. I reformatted the hard drive and re-download cura and it hasn't happened since, if it does again I will try the stepper motor current
tighten the belts that move the axis
