I just started playing and 20 minutes in i get the worst nausea ever like i had to look away for an hour then i went back to play and again instant nausea. i normally get motion sickness playing video games but there are often options in settings to reduce motion blur or something so it doesnโt trigger any nausea. are there any graphics setting like that in rebirth? i was looking through but didnโt see any motion settings. :(
Donโt play on the Highwind, Yuffie.
It very well might be your TV. If it has game mode or equivalent, try that first.
Have you tried going into graphics settings on the game and playing around with what works? You can access it through settings and navigating the graphics menu.
With what they added in this game, there's honestly so much BS (i'm writing this in good faith) that could appear on your screen, it's not helped by the fact that motion blur is not applied to moving objects in gameplay. There are 2 graphics settings in the game as of right now.
Graphics: Dynamic 4K targeting 30 fps, it shouldn't be that mad for someone who is prone to motion sickness, all of the prerendered scenes are also 30 fps so you wouldn't need to adjust to sudden motion changes.
Performance smooth/sharp: Dynamic 1440p ish targeting 60 fps. There isn't that much difference between the smooth and sharp modes other than how the post processing is managed. The blurriness that was present before is only minorly fixed.
This games combat system can be REALLY quick-paced if you turn it up a little, by skill.
You can't really change anything other than brightness as of now. Camera distance and movement speed can also be changed but I think that will be your personal preference. So my advice would be to change to the graphics mode and see if it's better. If it's not, then hope that the PC release can be changed in such a way.
I don't think it's named motion settings, so you might want to try looking through all the settings menus if you haven't already. You could also try checking accessibility settings on the game, your PS5, and the TV.
Does your TV have a motion smoothing option or anything like that? Try disabling it if so.
You can turn off the blurring and set it to performance- smooth
thank u wheres the blurring setting?
I'm a dunce, I thought ff7rebirth had it too, I was thinking Helldivers 2 ๐ Apologies for getting your hopes up
hreatbroken ๐๐๐๐ jkjk thank u anyway
There was an option to slow down the camera speed though, maybe that'll help
I get motion sickness easily and especially with first person games, but I didnโt have an issue here at all. Are you sitting too close?
nope am a good 4 feet away from my tv
4 feet? Goodness. I'm about 13ft away from mine
ruh roh D: well i just used a ruler and it 7.12ft but its all the space i have in my living room
7 isn't that bad! I assume it's something else bugging you then
I also normally play about 3-4 feet from my 50 inch screen. I apparently have 25/20 vision when wearing contacts and but do not have great vision at distance.
Reduce your camera speed, helped me with the same issue ๐
Playing with any settings on my LG OLED TV gave me motion sickness. Playing it on the PlayStation Portal, no motion sickness. So...idk to each their own
Motion sickness from games is such a terrible and unfair punishment for gamers. I have suffered like you suffer from many different titles I I fortunately purchased and yet can never enjoyโฆ.
Which version of the game are you referring to, and on what console?
im playing rebirth on my ps5 n its connected to my Samsung tv
I have this issue too. If I feel the motion sickness setting in I just switch to performance mode. I feel like going from performance to graphics always is jarring and a big source of the issue.
I've tried making sure i close the game in graphics mode then watch a movie (or a tv episode) before turning on the game so I'm going from 24 fps to 30 and it seems to work pretty good. I don't get dizzy and everything feels smooth.
oooh ty will try
Edit settings on your tv. In game I think the best you can do is turn it to graphics mode. Mess with like sharpness and what not on your tv. You have an OLED tv by chance?
thank u i have a Samsung tv and turned down the brightness a bit and it helped a little
Wait for PS5 pro enhanced version.
wow so very helpful thank you building a time machine now
LOL
What is your setup?
Display, PS5 display settings, in game settings?
Turn off blur and use performance mode.
