🍏 Keyword duplication mistake in unequal fields

Here I told you what cross-localization is - https://www.reddit.com/r/ASO/comments/1cfvle1/crosslocalization_in_the_app_store/

Now let's analyze the mistake we notice in almost every second ASO project, it's called: "Duplicate keywords in metadata in unequal fields for App Store".

When you are preparing metadata, pay attention to where you use the keyword in the metadata in one localization and cross-localization in the metadata (Title/Subtitle/Keywords).

For example, if "fitness" is in English (US) in Title and in Spanish (MX) in Keywords, then Apple can index it from anywhere❗ You don't know where the indexing will come from.

So if Apple indexes the keyword from the Keywords field, you'll get a lower position.

Actual example:

Planner 5D app - https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/planner-5d-interior-design/id606173978?l=en#iphonex

English (UK) Title:

🔹 Planner 5D: Interior Design

English (Australia) Subtitle:

🔹 Interior & Floor Plan Creator

Mistake: Incorrect use of the word "interior" for Australia. This means that Apple can index the word "interior" from the English (Austalia) Subtitle, but not from the English (UK) Title, and thus the position for "interior" in Australia will be lower. 🙄

How to fix it?

ASO Challenge Day 4: First Results and Small ASO Secret
ASO Challenge Day 4: First Results and Small ASO SecretTutorial

Hey Folks,

It's quite a while from the last post. I got many messages from you, thanks for your attention!

On April 2, we released an update to our abandoned app in a highly competitive niche to increase impressions/installs in the US. Let's check out what we achieve in the last 2 weeks!

If you didn't read the old posts check out below;

Before I show the results, I want to remind you something very important: ASO is a long journey. There is no magical formula. You have to test everything out all the time and find what works for you. You should evaluate all assets as a whole.

Even if you rank #1 for a very competitive keyword, you can't stay there very long if your screenshots don't attract users' attention for that keyword. Because users likely focus on each app for just 1-2 seconds while searching apps, you have to give a clear message to them.

Let's get down to business. We increased impressions to 21K from 17.8K. That's 20% increase. Conversion rate a bit down to 2.29% from 2.37%. That's normal because we targeted many long tail keywords that's not exactly match our app.

last 90 days

But since our target was the US, we should focus on US metrics. Before the update, we were getting around 30 impressions per day on average from the US. After the update, we increased it 5x and are now getting around 150 impressions per day on average. That's awesome!

impressions from the US

I have a theory: when you save your metadata, Apple starts indexing it, even before you publish the update. We released the update on April 2nd but saw a significant boost earlier. That's not the first time. We saved metadata on Mar 24th. Can you check the peak before then?

As you know from previous posts, we aimed for the "baby tracker" keyword in our app name, even it's very competitive. You can see the ranking history for this keyword below. We were ranked #228 for a long time. However, when we saved the metadata, it immediately jumped to #66.

ranking history for the \"baby tracker\"

Anyway, let's look at the whole picture. We saw a significant increase in rankings after the update but didn't gain any spots in the top 20. I'm pleased to see some traction. We'll analyze the ranked keywords and optimize them again, as that's how ASO works.

keywords ranking history

It's not just about keywords and combinations. We also have to optimize our screenshots according to the keywords we want to rank for. Next week, I will prepare new metadata. Follow me so you don't miss out.

Team Lewis Tourist Lodging Scam

I was approached with a job opportunity which was basically a task scam. It started of with allowing for small successful withdrawals. Then once the amount reached a certain amount, the fees and deposits started coming. Keep in mind these are not divulged until and if you put some funds down.

As soon as you put some funds in, they say we need another fees. If you are late by a bit they will even charge you late fees, even by 2000 usdt. At the end of the day this is all for $500 of profit you made doing some tasks or reviews as they call it.

You are placed with a mentor who will offer to help you financially but the fees will never end. They even went to the extent of providing a letter of guarantee which was a sham and of course, they didn't let me withdraw any funds.

They say they work with Team Lewis and provide you with a letter on official letterhead. They work with USDT and other crypto currencies. I would steer clear of any job with Team Lewis Tourist Lodging.

ASO Localization Keywords

How can i find native keywords for different countries? For example; What is the common term for 'AI' in Japan?

ASO for Asian countries 🇨🇳, 🇭🇰, 🇰🇷, 🇯🇵 or how to work with Asian characters in App Store?

Do you need to repeat the keywords in the Title? Do you need to split "phrases" into "words"? What works better, exact match or split into words?

Part 1️⃣

💡 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐞𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 "𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬"

We've tested many times what works better exact match (クロネコヤマト宅急便) or character split (クロネコヤマト,宅急便) and we see that the positions haven't changed (screenshot). Also, more keyword pairs will be covered when splitting phrases.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧:

✅ Exact match keyword coverage in the Keywords field doesn't improve indexing.

Part 2️⃣

💡𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞? 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝?

The second part is in the ASO Busters community > https://discord.gg/kr78W9aSDD in the App Store thread.

Free ASO tool for keyword research and volume

Hi,
Are there any free ASO tools for checking keyword volume and keyword difficulty. Unlike web (semrush, Ahref, moz) the ASO tool subscriptions are very high end.

So was looking for free recommendations. Anyone ? Thanks!

New app launched 2 days ago, only 200 impressions - is this normal?

I recently launched a new flashcard app called "Retain" with the title "Flashcards meet AI: Retain." I put "flashcards" first in the title because it's a popular search term, despite being competitive. I was hoping Apple's alleged organic boost for new apps would help me gain traction in the first week, planning to change the title to something less competitive later.

Initially, I selected "launch in all countries" but then limited availability to just the USA and UK after reading that US users are the biggest spenders. I thought this would concentrate the rumored 8k organic impressions in these markets.

However, after 2 days, I've only received 200 impressions. Is this a sign that something is wrong, or does Apple's boost work differently than I assumed? I'm guessing they don't give thousands of free impressions but rather bump new apps up slightly in search rankings (e.g., from rank 50 to rank 20).

Can anyone provide insights or share their experiences with launching a new app and the initial impression numbers they received?
