I would have to agree with you. Everything from the “corporations going into space” part onward was definitely greenwashed colonialism.

Solarpunk book club?
Solarpunk book club?Literature/Fiction

Looking for books with a solarpunk flavor. To start things off I'd suggest Chambers' "A Psalm for the Wild Built' and Doctorow's "Lost Cause."

Anyone have favorite or go-to books to suggest?

This post goes hand in hand with the one above it. I crossposted this as a source for what celebrities to potentially block!

I say we start a movement. Spread the word, use your own platforms to stir action. Wealth disparity has grown to disgusting levels and year after year we sit back and complain, unable to make a difference. This is a difference we can make. Our strike may be digital, but its implications won’t be.

We’re officially open to discussing what celebrities to digitine!

Celebrity blockout 2024
Celebrity blockout 2024

After the tone deaf met gala, a lot of people are starting a movement where we block and unfollow all celebrities and influencers on social media.

These celebrities become irrelevant without our following and blocking prevents them from gaining any ad revenue from us.

EDIT: The point of this is to direct our energy & attention into people who are using their platforms for GOOD and stop giving our energy away to those who simply flaunt their wealth and refuse to acknowledge the disparities between classes. Feel free to comment on people we SHOULD follow in place of the ones we block.

This is the start of the awakening process where celebrities are exposed and class consciousness arises. Celebrity worship and the gap between the rich and the poor is being brought to light.

Kim Kardashian has already lost 3 million followers on insta. It’s working.

TLDR: 1. Block all celebrities and influencers on social media, including their products and companies. (Taylor Swift, the Kardashians, Haley Baylee, Bill Gates, JLo)

To go even further: 2. Block all news & media sites that promote celebrities like SNL, Vogue, TMZ, Enews, etc.

  1. Block major corporations like Amazon and especially the fast food corporations that profit off of making us sick. No more Taco Bell or Chick-fil-A ads. We can’t let them advertise to us anymore. Enough is enough.

  2. Find ways to support your local businesses (like farmer’s markets) and promote platforms that are doing good for people. Start a garden this summer, boycott processed food and corrupt food brands like Kelloggs. Find ways to be more self-sufficient.

If you have any more ideas to add about how we can continue making change please comment them! This is just the start.

Happy blocking✨

Why You Should Enroll in the Symposium

The Symposium triumphs where others fail because its curriculum doesn’t promise to fix your health, wealth, and relationships. We are in the business of helping people feel human again. The truth is health, wealth, and good relationships are consequences of positive action. To create positive action we first task students with building a foundation strong enough to carry the weight of their dreams.

These are the 3 most important steps to take control of your life:

A Routine of Self-Compassion & Mindfulness Kindness stems from the inside and radiates into the outside world. That’s why the first step is to alter the way in which one sees themselves and their reality. Every person’s blueprint will be different, but examples include going for walks in nature and taking time to enjoy small moments of beauty, or cooking a beloved meal and savoring every bite while reminding yourself you deserve good things. Setting boundaries, creating priority lists, and meditating before bed are all examples of recommendations that most students receive. It’s more than extra responsibilities and simple changes, it’s about retaking control of your life.

Cultivation of Chi/Energy In the first task students are taught to let their goodness and awareness leak into the outside world. In this following exercise emphasis is placed on creating an environment that reflects positivity back onto students. Depending on accessibility, students are challenged to take their own aesthetics and assimilate art, mirrors, houseplants, natural and artificial light into their immediate environment.

Community Involvement One of the more daunting tasks we give students is community involvement; we encourage students to start slow and prioritize their safety. Examples include meeting your next-door-neighbors, growing excess fruits and veggies with the intention to share, and participating in local causes!

Every student is worked with one on one to create a blueprint that aligns with their objectives and capabilities. In depth analysis of auxiliary topics like gureilla gardening, permaculture landscaping, diet/fitness, and feng shui will often form the backbone for lessons.

We believe that Education and Art are essential to showing people a better world.

Our school of thought is built on the belief that modern institutions have overtly commodified education and propagandized capitalist/colonizer viewpoints. Additionally these institutions have engaged in a misuse of funds so detrimental to the American people that they invalidate their own existence.

Our 10 year goal is to have lessons from the Symposium assimilated into American schools and universities. Through your enrollment and support, we take steps to reform our educational system to better reflect the realistic needs of students. To accomplish this lofty goal we have started a Political Action Committee. Additional information on the PAC will be discussed in a follow up post.

Our ego is simply a tool to experience the world. Enlightenment is meant to coexist with a healthy ego. Unhealthy ego’s will inevitably pull one away from enlightenment.

Transhumanism is a rarely spoken about, but fundamental element of the solarpunk movement. I created an alternative version of a popular design that is meant to convey symbiosis between nature, and technology. Flag of Duality

Message received! Earth is hard, but when we cultivate mindfulness and kindness in our lives, it tends to overflow into the lives of others and world around us. Let’s take care of ourselves, and remember that we’re not alone <3

Wishing everyone warm hearts, and even tans :D

I think humanity made a major mistake when we decided to assign God a human form. God was always meant to be a decentralized deity. It always made much more sense to me, to apply divinity to the Universe around us. On that same note though, it is up to us as a collective to create “heaven on earth”. Utopias are impossible by default, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. If we’re going to bring about the Age of Aquarius, it is only a possibility through humanity taking control of its path and living in accordance with the world around us.

I’m going to go for it! I encourage any other writers to do the same!!

This is what we’re fighting against. An entire country has been built on a foundation championed by moral-less men. There’s a reason you didn’t see this in history books. Evil exists, and it’s been winning this game for far too long now.

the sadness and rage when I remember all the people who had their lives stolen from them. for the people who wanted to live, for their dreams, their memories. I press on.

Not to get too political, but the macro level (for me at least) is the creation of a political action committee that divests itself into education, and environmental based policy to guide future generations into becoming more well-rounded humans.

In addition, I recently founded a sole proprietorship “Kallipolis Media” to create visual mediums inspired by solarpunk philosophy and Ghibli-style storytelling. I’m still at the beginning of this process for both avenues, but I’m confident that approaching it from a culturally stimulating perspective will have a positive ”macro” effect on the world around us.

weathering the dark night of the soul, my friend 💀

It certainly feels like there’s a hundred different battles to choose from. One person can only commit so much time, money, and labor to a cause. I really think you’re right when saying it comes down to therapy and healing. By taking care of ourselves we make it possible to have the energy and clarity to put ourselves into charitable positions.

Personally, I believe that cultivating a healthy ego is the basis for that healing. Though that’s way easier said than done. Sometimes the simplest way to help people is to just lend an ear.

All in all, I really appreciate your comment. That personal, mental work often gets overridden by our real life priorities, resulting in depression, burnout, and anxiety and it has to be the most important part of bettering the world.

Lastly thanks for the sub shoutout. Creating a place for art and education seemed like a really good first step lol. Hopefully over time it’ll help convince people to fight not just for themselves, but a brighter future in general.
