Nooo, it’s sooo exclusive that you can’t even get it in the regular market. That’s why you can only get it through ME! Everyone wants it but they don’t know where they can get it but YOU have the privilege because I’m now letting you buy it from ME!

I think I’m one of the rare ones that find katakana so fascinating, interesting, and fun to learn. I enjoy learning how Japanese use loanwords!

I do think learning kanji is very painful, although it starts to get more manageable once I could recognise each radical and piece radicals together to form new kanjis like a jigsaw puzzle.

But it still doesn’t change the fact that kanji is the most painful thing in my Japanese learning journey. I have just learned to accept the fact that it’s part of learning the language.

I just had a tattoo done in Shibuya (Studio Muscat) last weekend!

If I’m going to WFH the next day, I’ll need to bring my laptop home. I also bring my Switch around so I need a bigger bag that can fit both my laptop and Switch.

Looking for people who regularly hangout around Shibuya, Shinjuku, or IkebukuroAnyone? 🤗

Would anyone like to meet up on Friday 10th May at Ikebukuro at 6.30pm for dinner and maybe window shop for anime/games merch?

A bit about myself: I am 34F, and I am looking for a hangout buddy. I'm not exactly an introvert, but don't do well in large groups and prefer 1-on-1 meetups. I love video games (I own a Switch) and my hobby is collecting Tamagotchi. Bonus points if we can game together!

I'm regularly around Shibuya, Shinjuku, or Ikebukuro and sometimes I feel bored after work and just want to shoot a friend a last minute message like "hey I just finished work, are you up for a quick dinner now before I go home", or on weekends I'd be like "I'm bored, I'm showing up at your doorstep in 1 hour" (this is what I used to do with my friends back in my home country), but it's so difficult to find friends like these in Tokyo because almost everyone here have their own schedule and whenever I want to even have a simple meal after work I have to schedule with them like 1 week in advance or something.

I work M-F (corporate job) and end at 6pm everyday, so if anyone's schedule fits let me know! We can start off with a dinner on the 10th and then if we hit it off we can be each other's dinner buddy or weekend buddy.

Birth control pills for stopping periods

I understand that birth control pills in Japan have to be prescribed, and not available over the counter. However, the prescription is usually for a 28-day cycle which includes placebo pills, which means only ovulation is stopped, but periods will still occur.

In my home country, there are people who skip the placebo pills and immediately start on the next pack so that their periods never happen. Do people do this in Japan too? If so, how can I get prescribed for exactly that purpose? Or will doctors only prescribe me a monthly supply with the placebos? Can I get the supplies more frequently than once a month so that I can skip the placebos and start on the next month's prescription earlier?

I've just moved to Japan little over a month ago and still navigating my way around, so I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you!

And it’s meticulously extracted in such a way that it’s only compatible with Kangen machines, and 100x more absorbent into the water than grocery store bought turmeric, so it’s different. You won’t get any of the health benefits from regular turmeric. /s

Well my teacher did contact my parents because I brought prohibited items to school (and I got into trouble LOL). But my parents never contacted my teacher.

When I was a student (more than 20 years ago), my parents contacted my teachers a total of ZERO times from primary all the way to secondary school. I feel really bad for teachers nowadays. I can’t believe it’s even a common thing now.

I would argue a job that pays you for your specific knowledge and skill set would be “easier” than a backbreaking physically demanding job such as a cleaner, and it would also pay more than 5k. So, no, I wouldn’t accept it.

Yes “Kan” means fuck. Idk what cao means though; Chinese isn’t my first language. In my country we use “Kan” (and I think Taiwan too iirc?) instead of cao, so maybe it could also be a cultural difference in slangs.

“Kan ni ma” (fuck your mother) is a Chinese swear word. But sometimes “kan” is omitted and it’s expressed as just “ni ma” (your mother). It’s basically the same swear word just the shorter version.

You should try to ask his opinions about how he’s gonna solve the country’s social problems like homelessness, student debt, etc.

Oh um, okay, owning a pet. Hahaha. My parents wouldn’t let me own a pet when I was younger but now I can.

Also, eating dessert anytime I want.

As a user when I see accounts with large number of followers but each post/reel has very low engagement, it’s a sign that this person has bought followers, and it makes me lose trust and not want to follow them. Buying followers will backfire on you.

Fake followers won’t engage with your posts, which tells the algorithm that your posts aren’t interesting, and won’t be shown to other real people. From there on it’s a downward spiral that will be difficult to get out of.

It’s better to build up from zero with real followers who will actually engage with you and have a loyal following.

Taking grab to go home from work whenever I’m feeling too tired to take the train. Being able to satisfy my food cravings any time without worrying about exceeding my monthly budget. Booking a flight ticket on a whim.
