This thread has covered the main options, sofi and kroger. You could always just use the kroger card solely for Canadian costco purchases and look for some other catch all that doesn't need to be no FTF or a MC

When your BCP annual fee hits, downgrade to the BCE to get the annual fee refunded. After a couple weeks you'll get upgrade offers that wipe out (or close to it) the annual fee. If you want a little longer the upgrade offers get better. Rinse and repeat every year, and you get a free BCP

The kroger cards are issued by US bank, not citi. They have a different product for each kroger brand

Did you ever find a solution to this? It's super weird and completely different from how other phones handle this

If you have an iphone, the apple watch. Android, probably just a samsung watch (they seem to have the best performance/battery). I have a samsung galaxy watch

tap your phone

Smart watches also have this if OP doesn't want to take out their phone or wallet

Yes, at least all of credit one's cards have grace periods now (they definitely didn't used to!), which cannot be said for many other predatory lenders. Upgrade also comes to mind - though they did used to have an excellent checking/savings option which has since been nerfed

Interesting, I had to do none of that and I'm nowhere close to redstone. I got the card a year ago, so maybe they've added some steps since

I'm not pushing for them (I don't want the card to get nerfed), but redstone wants you to video call them? Joining /getting the card was completely automated for me

Welcome - Wells fargo doesn't seem to care too much about recent accounts (except their new attune card it seems), and US Bank cares about the last 12 months not really your x/24

The two longest I've seen are the wells fargo reflect and the US bank platinum cards. Each have 21 months of intro 0%, and they can each be product changed afterwards. US bank is more likely to give a higher limit, but wells fargo is more likely to approve. Depends on how many new accounts you have in the last year or so

One difference is the signify card is uncapped and the BBP is 2x up to 50k/year of spend. Not an issue for most but could be if business spend is high enough

Maybe change over time? I did it shortly after they bought state farm, and the rep told me they were now a national bank after the acquisition but the website hadn't updated yet. Maybe they had plans to offer stuff everywhere, or the rep was just making stuff up? Either way, I got the account and the checking bonus while living in MD at the time

When I first opened a checking account with us bank years ago, they just did over the phone for me after the website rejected me

US Bank seems to offer limits comparable to other cards you have.... unless they thought your profile was borderline for some reason and then they stick you with $500. Did you have other accounts opened in the last 12 months? They really hate new accounts

Lol that tracks with my experience with it too. I just use the BoA CCR for online purchases now

Oh? That's kind of strange, I thought paypal's fees were higher than amex. Curious if the online retail category would be triggered if processed through paypal; both steam and gamepass count when directly charging the card

Kroger mobile wallet cards have a cap, too (and won't work at all restaurants)

Mobile wallet might not, but there are a few varieties of the kroger card that get 3% on dining/gas

I guess I would think people would get more use of the BBP for non-category and some of the 3x categories of the redstone - though for a visa backup, 5% gas and 3% costco is pretty hard to beat

Do they? I guess the Redstone would be a good visa backup if you're deep in the amex system, but one is points and the other is cash back. Also, I found amex also does not include bars in its dining 4x category for the gold

One difference is the dining category - Redstone is more limited to just restaurants where most dining cards (savorone included) include bars/drinking places. Not a huge consideration for most (hopefully lol)
