Look for iRO weekly update News. Easter Event is ending this next Tuesday maintenance.

I've made it a habit now, anytime any restaurant charges any "service fee" I automatically tip $0.

Just the other day, I looked at a potential delivery order that charged the:

food price

Delivery Fee

Service Fee

Employee Benefit Fee

Sales Tax

Tip

Ridiculous.

A lot these kids nowadays have had iPads shoved in their faces and other smartphones playing videos by their parents since age 2. It'll definitely be a /r/publicfreakout moment once teachers try to take away phones.

MuhRO is up-to-date, but no server comes close to IRO population (1800-2200), unless you count 200-300 for MuhRO as "high" pop...

The fact that this song is so far down the list is sad. Truly one of the best songs of all time.

So, OP doesn't like Payon Stories the limits, and doesn't like custom skills/maps, and prefers 1x...so why couldn't iRO be a recommendation?

The users on this subs have such a hate-boner for iRO when it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

To be honest, none of the 4th classes are particularly fleshed out at the moment. Nearly all classes still rely on 2nd/3rd job skills for damage.

To answer your question, Ranger with Arrow Storm/Focused Arrow Strike or RK with Wind Cutter are pretty solid.

Based on my experience, as someone who started again after a nearly 20-year hiatus, iRO has been pretty good so far, leveling from 1-99 can be done in 1-2 days easily as a new player, and the free equipment is pretty good.

I played an LK called Angel Alexiel, was under the guild MVP Elite, then after it disbanded, went to a guild called (I think) Element.

I’m in LA area too! Played back in 2003-2005 up to when Transcendence came out. Recently came back to iRO Chaos server

Why not just cut the tofu into equal-sized pieces? They'll absorb seasoning and cook more evenly.

I really enjoyed it, and it's probably one of my favorites.

Everything the previous Pocket Academy's did, Pocket Academy 3, just does way better.

Hunter/Ranger is a good starting class that is quite strong throughout the leveling process without need for expensive equipment.

I recommend making a Merchant on a separate account so you can sell via the Vending skill while still playing on your main account.

Do the Easter event Daily Quest everyday, gives insane amount of EXP (something like 10M Base/Job EXP) for 3-5 minutes of your time.

Usually it's 1x/1x/1x, but they've had bonuses for the longest time, with no end in sight, so I believe right now it is 2x/2x/1.5x.

On the weekends, it gets bumped up to 3x/3x/1.5x

Hello, I also am an old player, last played about 2005-ish when Transcendent 2-2 classes were implemented. I just returned to check out iRO about the start of April, one month ago. There is really only the iRO Chaos server to play (Loki + Chaos merged sometime ago). And iRO still has the highest population 1500-2300 peak.

In my experience so far, iRO has been quite enjoyable. There are tons of free items and equipment you can get from doing things from The Eden Group and leveling is really fast from 1-99. It will take a bit to get adjusted to 20 years of new content, but a large portion of it is kind of irrelevant anyways.

Yes, there is P2W items you can buy now, but honestly they are largely unnecessary to enjoy the game.

The only thing I might recommend, if you want, is the 10-Day VIP passes which cost like $2.50(?) USD, includes a free buff, teleport access to pretty much anywhere, and a 50% EXP boost.

In any case, Hunter and Assassin are great first-characters to start with since they don’t require a lot of investment to produce good results.

Aerith: 10k HP, 132PDEF, 145 MDEF

Cloud: 10k HP, 132 PDEF, 123 MDEF

Tifa: 10k HP, 123 PDEF, 134 MDEF

I used a lot of the OB10 F2P event-weapons that give combination of HP/PDEF or HP/MDEF as the sub-weapons.

The materia also leaned towards HP% and combinations of PDEF and/or MDEF.

You don't need 2 healers, or high PDEF/MDEF. You can get by with mid MDEF buff, and a Protect materia, as long as you gear your sub-weapons towards PDEF/MDEF/HP. I've beaten EX1 without those.
