Hi all- I’ve inherited a beautiful, hip length, cream color mink coat- it fits me perfectly. I am well aware and respect that wearing mink isn’t ok, especially vintage mink, because of the way the animals were treated. I would never buy a mink coat. But, it’s pretty, it’s warm and it fits. Can I wear it? Would you?
True, and there are plenty of synthetic materials that look fur-ish, many choices if people want fur looking coats that aren’t real fur.
Yeah, that’s my concern- I don’t want my coat to look like some kind of endorsement….
First time home buyers- I wish someone had explained this- for a conventional loan, you need to put 20% down. At 20% equity, you won’t have to buy PMI insurance. That is an insurance policy that you pay to the lender to insure that if you default on your loan, they are covered. It does not protect you, it protects them. It’s ridiculous- avoid it if possible. Also, if you have 20% equity, the lender cannot require you to have an escrow account- that’s the account that the lender holds your property taxes and insurance. I don’t know about you, but I’m perfectly capable of paying my own taxes and insurance- I don’t need the lender to control that money. Aim for 20% and good luck!
Everyone keeps making suggestions like ‘build a spreadsheet’ or ‘get your finances in order’. It’s obvious this poor woman is financially illiterate- she doesn’t know how to do those things. Dang, why don’t we teach this stuff in school? Ok- where does the paycheck(s) go? Checking account? First thing- get access to that account. If you don’t know how- post back here and we’ll walk it through it. This is overwhelming but break it down into smaller steps- go get access to the checking account.
