Travel food containers?

Hello! Looking for suggestions on how to make this more efficient:

When my partner & I travel and visit cities for 1+ days, we like to buy some groceries to make our breakfast and lunch at our airbnb, to take with us while we’re out walking around for the day.

We’ve stored this food in collapsibile silicone containers and it’s worked pretty well, but I wonder if there’s a better way?

If you do this, do you pack your own utensils? A cloth? Do you have a dedicated lunch bag you put in your day pack to avoid leaking? Silicone bags or regular ziploc bags? What’s in your kit?

I’m looking for a lightweight, leak-free and easy to clean system. Let me know your ideas, thank you!

That’s great!! I’ll check them out and see what they have available for us. That rocks! And you’re right PEC is so expensive - I’m thinking even around the Thousand Islands or thereabouts for a location - just something in between. I appreciate it!

Thank you for sharing, this helps give perspective and ur so right!! That sounds like it was beautiful ❤️ And that’s a good idea! I realize now that all our guests are adults so i don’t think there’d be any issues for an evening event!!

Thank you for saying so!! Want to make sure I’m not off base haha!

That’s so true!! Keeping that perspective is important, you’re right 👍👍 thank you!

Thank you so much for the response, I’m happy to hear it especially as I’d really been considering Slake!! So that makes me feel good to hear you thought it had a spectacular view and budget was reasonable! I appreciate both recommendations, looking in to them today ☺️👍

Microwedding etiquette?Other

Hello! Recently got engaged, planning a wedding for summer 2025!

We want to do a small wedding, 40 people total. However, my partner’s family & my family are far from each other (Toronto and Cornwall, Ontario) so we’re thinking of doing something in between in Prince Edward County region.

We also wanna be as budget as possible! Evening wedding, easy venue, minimal decorations, ceremony happening in the same place as the reception….

Is it ok to do something budget and lowkey, but still expect people to drive out 2-3hrs one way (and get a hotel/airbnb)?

Thank you for any and all insight!!

Samos boat excursions, how to?

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone had any experience in Samos going for a boat excursion for the day.

As a child, I remember being in Croatia and going down to the harbour with my family, and picking from a few vendors of boat excursions. After booking, the next day we’d come down & get to go out on the water with a group, go swimming and visit beaches, and get lunch! Is this sort of thing available in Samos, and if so, do you have a tour you’d recommend?

I’d love to see more of the island this way! Thank you, let me know :)

Vintage engagement ring shopping advice?

Hello - my partner and I are browsing for vintage engagement rings! I am interested in the art deco period for rings. Here are some questions I have:

  • I see a lot of rings with both gold and platinum. Is this normal for the period? Are there benefits to having these two metals?
  • With ring sizing, should I consider a limit to sizing in case I have to resize to preserve the ring's quality?
  • What questions should I ask Etsy (where I've been looking lol!) sellers when buying a ring to assure it is of good quality etc?

If you have any advice, things to look for or consider, I would appreciate any and all advice!

French equivalent for the English word "buzz"?Discussion

looking for the French equivalent of the word "buzz", as in a buzzer sound. I have an English game that involves students yelling out "buzz" at particular moments, such as when counting "1, 2, buzz, 3, 4, buzz ...." but I wondered if there'd be a better word here, that's specifically French? something to exclaim? this is for a grade two French immersion class. Thank you very much!

Thank you so much!! and totally, I can imagine how frustrating it was, good to be back on track!

For the schedule, when are your classes normally? I'm just looking to imagine what to expect, i.e. if it's weekends, evenings, or day time.

I appreciate it!! :)

Sorry for my own late response, thank you for the information!! I really appreciate it. That's great to hear, that's what I hope to do myself. If you don't mind (as right now with the strikes at UPEI I have had a hard time chatting with folks there) could I bug you with a few more questions:

- Was it difficult to get into the program? or had you heard of others who struggled?

- I am interested in the 21st Cent. focus group as well. Are you thinking about doing a thesis by the end?

- Does that mean the program runs all year round, throughout the summers as well?

Thank you very much for your insight, I really appreciate it! :)

Thank you so much for your response! Have you found you've been able to work at the same time in schools? And have you picked a specific focus, if so which and how have you been enjoying it?

Master of Education MEd - Anyone doing this?

Just wanting to hear more about the program first hand and how it's going, thank you! :) Any comments about it are appreciated. Maybe specifically about the course load, whether you find you can work/study elsewhere at the same time etc? Thanks!
