Wild that you actually believe that Joe Biden is the worst thing to happen to the US.
Moved from Houston to CO. Houston drivers are far more aggressive. Colorado drivers are the slowest drivers I've ever encountered on three continents.
Once in CO I got a notification of a heavy traffic warning and to expect delays "up to 5 minutes".
The lack of interesting and varied clothing options. Seriously, it's 2024 and the majority of options for middle income people are still jeans, polo shirts, tee-shirts, and a few more formal shirts.
Polo shirts. It's been the same frickin thing since the 1970s.
Sorry to hear it. I'm pretty sure the UK is generally worse for pollen. It's the nettles that get me I think.
It helps me wade through the mountain of bizarre syntax when learning a new programming language. Both GPT4o and GitHub Copilot are indispensable now.
I had incredibly bad hayfever where I grew up in the UK. Like nose running and eyes itching for a solid three months out of every year.
When I moved to the US, that went away and now I only get itchy eyes for a couple of weeks in early spring.
Put simply, the specific allergens we are irritated by can be present in different concentrations in different places. It sounds like your mum moved somewhere that has some kind of pollen or dust or other allergen that she wasn't used to.
If she's like me, it's the oak and pine pollen. That yellow stuff in Houston in the spring is insane.

Been playing a lot of Nirvana since hearing about Steve Albini.
Love this. From the release I was all about Tonight Tonight and 1979. I still am, but I'm finding a new appreciation for the others as well.
Agree. I found it to be a bit much when I was younger but it's really growing on me now.
About 1.5M people still die per year of tuberculosis.

People used to die from gun violence in early American settlements. Oh... wait.
There's nothing quite like over a thousand comments from people who have no idea what they're talking about.
As you get older you become less attracted to immaturity. So physical attraction is there, but the maturity level is sufficiently off-putting for it not to be an issue.
Seriously, this kind of thing makes me click away. The content is not interesting enough to justify the anxiety build up from the flashing words
Yes but for many people, inflation doesn't have any tangible meaning. The cost of groceries does.
Grocery prices increases have far outstripped inflation and wage increases, so no, wages have not increased enough to make up the difference.
The algorithm shows you more of what you engage with. It doesn't matter what that something is.
Engagement can be liking, sharing, receiving messages from others, but also something as simple as pausing on a reel for longer than usual.
There is no "normal" stuff that everyone sees.
This behavior is precisely why social media feeds create bubbles of interest or opinion where people become completely immersed in one thing (such as ADHD), or at the extreme end become politically or socially radicalized.
Put simply, you have to actively try to find other content that broadens what you see.
It sounds a lot like you're projecting. Nowhere did I say anything about democracy. There are clearly big problems with US power distribution. And that enables Christian Nationalists to oppress minority views. I don't need you to agree with me. Have a nice day.
Getting married in that dress. Never change, GnR. Never change.
At the time they were released, there was something wildly awesome about the Nirvana Nevermind videos, particularly Heart Shaped Box and In Bloom, and to a lesser extent Smells Like Teen Spirit.
Also worth mentioning:
Street Spirit by Radiohead
Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai
Hunter by Bjork
Lots of people in this thread don't understand what "alone" means.
Women who are married or in long term relationships, how often do you go on vacations alone?
