Ive played a few of these games. The trick is that ypure competing against other people who are as good as you are. Ive won money, but not as much as i spent. There are “free” levels, but they attract the most people, so its the hardest competition. Also, they’re making money off your data. Trolls piss people off as a form of manipulation. Usually people who troll feel powerless or unheard IRL and realize that they have power on the internet. They type away at their little keyboards and think “look at how mad this cuck is! Ive really got them going now!” Its a power trip.
Id hate to say that they follow some sort of political ideology, but they most often seem to be on the Right in conversations about race, gender, national identity, sexual identity, etc., and this comes from the same feelings that “traditional” conservative ideals and social norms are being “taken away”.
They may present as or even be consciously trying to have a productive dialogue, but at some point, it becomes more important to be right than be heard, or they believe others think their arguments are invalid simply because pf who they are rather than what they are saying, and thats when that troll shit takes off.
