Bought a PS5 the very day the PSN controversy started. Literally bought it just to play Helldivers, but held off on buying the game to support those effected by the decision. Glad to see Sony is backing down. Just bought the game and am so excited to start playing!
As others have said, it depends on the state, in my state it would be 100% justified. But I like what Active Self Protection says which is if yours or someone else’s life is in danger then you’re almost always justified in using your firearm. I would say based off the injuries sustained by the woman, it was a life threatening situation. It sucks that Maine is a duty to retreat state, but in states like that it is smart to carry less lethal options like pepper spray.
I know the one near me is barely a year old. Makes you wonder how much they spent on them only to get rid of them a year later.
I would say it’s good to try and have somewhat of a focus to your collection. There are so many postcards out there that it makes it much easier when you know what you’re looking for and can avoid what you don’t want.
Absolute madlads, great work guys 👍
I think they’re much easier to use and faster than any android I’ve ever used. They also last much longer. I’m currently still using an iPhone 8, I do plan on upgrading soon, but it still works flawlessly. One of my family members just bought a brand new android, idk which model, but my 8 is still faster than it is.
I don’t know what state this is in, but my company policy specifically states that we can detain someone if we have reasonable suspicion. We are also allowed to detain accomplices even if they did not commit the actual theft. I don’t work for Walmart, but everything he did was well within the legal limits of my state laws and company policy.
I worked as an armed guard for Kroger in my area for a little over a year and we were progressively relied upon to also act as loss prevention. Some Kroger do experience a high volume of theft, it was not uncommon for me to get three or four apprehensions a day when I was there. However Kroger has definitely gone down a path in which the customer bo longer comes first, imo. The shopping cart wheels that lock up were the bane of my existence when I worked there because 99% of the time they locked up on just regular shoppers. In the year I was there, there were only two times it locked up on actual shoplifters. On top of that, when the wheels lock up people tend to try to keep pushing them so they would wear down. A lot of the shopping carts wouldn’t roll right because they had lopsided wheels and had to be replaced frequently. I highly doubt Kroger is getting an ROI on that system when you factor in wheel replacements. The other measures they’ve taken, camera in your face and AI, definitely feel Orwellian and even though I worked there, I won’t shop at Kroger unless it’s one of the ones that doesn’t have these “features”.
I have six with division insignias, I have one that has original camouflage and no insignia, and I have one with the the polar bear expedition symbol on it.
Primarily WW1. Right now I am trying to get a helmet from each AEF division with the insignia on it.
I agree. I’ve worked places with uniformed security and places with just plainclothes LP and the ones with uniformed security seem to have far less issues. I’ve also seen how people immediately stop acting out when they notice someone is wearing a body camera.
I carry pepper spray in my pocket and there have been times I’ve pulled it out but have never actually had to use it. Now I do work for a company that actually wants us to physically stop shoplifters and get the merchandise back. Also in my state pepper spray is considered non lethal and isn’t even categorized as a weapon. So it also depends on your state and local laws.
At the place I currently work at we have a couple cameras on the grocery sections, but the vast majority of them are focused on other merchandise. Granted, out grocery section is very small compared to the other merchandise sections. With that being said, I did work security at a grocery store and I can say that they do get a ton of theft. It was not uncommon for me to stop people from pushing out carts full of steak, bacon, chips, etc. A tactic I actually saw fairly often was people covering up more expensive items, like meat, with bags of chips. I understand why stores may focus on other merchandise, but with inflation I would say stores are losing more in groceries than they realize.
So I bought an $82,000 home. Small starter home but it’s in a nice neighborhood. Put $20,000 down and my monthly payment is just under $650. When I got the loan I was only making around $26,000 a year. Now since then I’ve increased my income to $33,000 a year and I make the payment fairly comfortably but my other bills, like utilities, are pretty low.
Either Hornady Critical Defense or Underwood Extreme Defender.
My store had a really good management team, but they would frequently come to my office to vent and nearly all of them felt burnt out. I also really disliked the LP culture while I was there. I came from stores where LPs were very gung ho about stopping theft to TJX where most of the detectives seemed to just be there for the paycheck and nothing else. It was sad because I felt like I couldn’t relate to any of the other LPs.
I also went to a better paying LP job that also gives me a lot more freedom. Getting an internal at the store I was primarily at was near impossible. It had the lowest turnover rate of any store in the district and most of the people that worked there were older. Management told me that all the detectives before me drove themselves crazy trying to get an internal there, I knew I had to move on.
Yea that’s really messed up that they would hire new detectives without even saying anything to you about it. Their policies seemed to be getting better but they were far from what I was used to and my DLPM out and out lied to me about single detective stops. When I interviewed and all through my training I was repeatedly told I would be single detective certified to make stops and then when I went to get certified my DLPM told me I wouldn’t be allowed to do single detective stops.
I recently left TJX as a detective because I had a lot of issues with how they do LP, this just makes me dislike the company even more. Super shitty that they didn’t even try to offer you something else.
Yes, I often carry a S&W .38 special on my ankle. I really don’t notice it unless I bang my ankle up against something. I did buy a Glock 42 for ankle carry but just have always stuck with my .38.
I would consider listing the Maxima for sale on the private market because I would almost guarantee you could get more than $2500 for it. That would help with not taking as much out of your savings/checking.
Is floor walking your only means of surveillance? If shoplifters recognize that you’re always there then they’ll likely assume that you work for the store.
In my area we have a GroupMe set up that we add other LPs to and use to exchange photos and info. It even has some police officers on there which helps a lot.
