I guess it's because for the potara fusion, the fusion power is contained within the earrings and releasing too much can probably make them unstable and destroy them, Goku managed to destroy kefla's earrings as well with enough energy put into his attack.

But for the metamoran fusion, the vessel of the power is the new body itself, that is Gogeta, and he's insanely durable

It's a long stretch but it's probably the best explanation we have

That said, Vegito loses to Gogeta in a fight for this very reason, nothing else

V ain't killing Gogeta without his absolute full power, especially after what DBS has established (they are equal), and using his full power will cause V to defuse

But it doesn't make sense to compare them because pretty much any enemy gets SLAUGHTERED by either of them, Gogeta can do what Vegito can and Vegito can do what Gogeta can.

It's utter Bullshit because going forward, Gogeta and Vegito will be far stronger than when we last saw them but potara can't handle that much power so Vegito will defuse super quick which is A big L for the boy.

The DLCs of this game were on a whole other level compared to the already great base game

But if all of Skyrim was as high quality as the DLCs, it would be a damn 10/10 game.
