Hiring managers often ask things that have little relevance to your ability to do their job.
There are many bad managers, and this can be simple incompetence, or it can be negging for various reasons. For instance, it can make you feel inadequate so that you lower your standards for compensation or perks.
See what many recruiters had to say about the question, "Why should we hire you?" Hint, they don't all think it's the right question to ask.
Memorable answers you heard to "why should we hire you"? :
Asking about employment gaps can be another form of the games businesses play.
I haven't checked these tracks, but sometimes stereo has instruments on only one channel. That channel may not be working.
There's a lot of marketing in the claims. It's like when alkaline batteries came out, manufacturers claimed a 10-year shelf life and even stamped the expiration date on the batteries. Now, Eveready's website quietly lists only 7 years.
I've long felt that men and women live in different worlds, to generalize. Careers are important to men, travel and social things seem more important to women.
I am frustrated by women's lack of communication about their work on dating sites and would like to see them put more emphasis on it. But I'm also frustrated by their lack of communication on any topic. They just seem unwilling/unable to write and describe themselves in any manner.
Dating sites, to me, should be all about communication, but little effort is put into it, unfortunately.
Edit to add that I know communication on sites is a problem with men as well, but my reference to women is only an indication that I see women's profiles and not men's.
You can do a Google search for Reddit demographics. The best info I have is the mean age is 23.
Despite this, I'm your age, so we're here, but a very small minority.
My parents had the radio on all the time, and so I have an affinity for the songs I heard in my preschool years, the late 1950s.
There was a very popular radio jingle written by Johnny Mann, "Sound of the city", that may have first been on KSFO in San Francisco but was adapted to radio stations all over the country.

It seems that this is the universal online dating experience. Few do well at this.
It's not at all unusual in Southern California. I know two that are over 50.
I've noticed a trend of people using AI to create luminous eyes. And there are imitators who don't use AI and just go for the luminous effect with an expression that looks like they just stumbled on a pot of gold.
I've been on OKC continuously since 2010. I still occasionally see the same photos that I saw back then, and the profiles haven't been touched or updated in any way. These likely are abandoned profiles and the owners never bothered to delete them.
ChatGPT says,
"OkCupid does not have a specific timeline for when it deletes abandoned profiles. According to their privacy policy, profiles remain visible to other users until they are manually deleted by the account owner. Inactive or abandoned profiles might still be displayed in search results and suggestions, potentially for years (Zendesk) (Zendesk).
If you want to ensure your profile is removed, you need to actively delete it through the account settings. This manual deletion is necessary to prevent your profile from remaining visible indefinitely."
This agrees with Wikipedia and (I hesitate to say) ChatGPT.
"Semaphore is a system of signaling using flags. For "N," the signal is two flags held in an inverted "V" shape, and for "D," one flag is held straight up and the other straight down. When superimposed, they form the central design of the peace symbol."
Don't know why you're getting downvoted. In my experience, it's true that those who have money don't appear to have it when in public.
I have the strong sense after 14 years on these sites (and I always get downvoted for this) that it's all about chasing money, not love. But I'm a guy.
BTW, my advice to you is that, if you're not REALLY dependent on travel for your happiness, then don't use that word in your profiles. Because 99% of women include it, and it's unlikely that a similar percentage of men really want to travel. So, by suggesting that travel is necessary for you, you're seriously reducing the pool of people who might be interested in a relationship with you.
I've used OKC, Bumble, and POF.
I prefer POF because it seems to be the only remaining major site that isn't primarily "swipe" based. I want to browse their user base and don't want the site presenting me with specific individuals that I have to swipe left or right on.
Edit to add that I also prefer it because they allow room for long and informative profiles. Few people take advantage of this, but I do.
"most women that I'd like to contact have their messaging disabled."
This.
Men (and anyone) who send inappropriate messages should be reported and banned. End of problem.
You can help solve the problem of trash on this site. Report. I do it and get many people removed.
Yes, people choose occupations blindly. Colleges continue to graduate students who will have to compete fiercely for work.
Reddit subs are full of people who are excited about tech and think it's the field of work for them. They apparently never stop to consider that the number of technical workers so greatly exceeds the number of tech openings. McDonald's in California pays more than many tech jobs, be they entry-level or otherwise.
The colleges should clue their students into this fact but don't.
What I find odd about subs like this is that women often indicate they are having the problems you refer to. It's flabbergasting to me, because I've never attempted to date younger women and would never try. And yet, despite writing to women all the time on a number of different dating sites, I ALMOST NEVER GET A RESPONSE.
Go figure.
More people should consider self-employment. The system favors businesses over workers.
Some people become homeless. Some people go hungry and beg on street corners.
There's something wrong with the way business works today, and the wrongs aren't being properly addressed. The prevailing attitude is that businesses should not be allowed to fail. But workers?
Reddit user’s average age is 23 years old and just 12.75% are over the age of 30.
So Boomers = bad.

These kinds of features used to be available, but they've been removed from all sites that I'm aware of. Dating sites don't really want you to be able to do an efficient search.
