The Dark Knight is a modern classic, if you consider Batman a superhero. Batman (1989) is another classic and this was before the corny special effects of the later films in the trilogy.

Hulk (2003) is massively underrated. This one is VERY dark thematically, perhaps the darkest of all superhero films to date. Extreme caution for watching with children.

Superman (1978) - Entertaining, lighthearted, just fun all around. This is your white bread Deadpool.

So everyone just magically forgot about Ultimate Muscle and Fighting Foodons?

I thought it was very true… The manga really emphasizes how much the godhand manipulated Griffith to complete the ritual though.

So what did you put your foot in your son’s arse for today?

“Oh no you won’t” and then play the argument clinic game

I find borrowing names fine, but spelling out your name and correcting people about how your name is properly pronounced gets very tedious and annoying especially if it’s longer. Like if your name is Aron, don’t expect people to know it’s pronounced Ah-run or to get it right every time if they don’t interact with you often.

If that’s your name I’m not calling you out, just an example.

Non-Hispanic Black adults (49.9%) had the highest age-adjusted prevalence of obesity. I want to stress that it says obesity and not overweight.

more than 2 in 5 non-Hispanic Black men (41.1%)

more than half of non-Hispanic Black women (56.9%). So we can rule out not wanting to be hypocrites.

Being polite is different than being accepting or promoting something. With that said…

I see a couple potential arguments that I’m not stuck to. The first is that is an inaccurate sentiment based on the perception of black Africans as having to labor miles in a day to collect water, thus having extra fat is a status symbol indicating you don’t have to do that. Which is true in third world societies but I fully reject in first world nations.

It could very well be coded language that black men use to indicate their attraction for black women, and I say that based on the fact that black women are significantly more obese than black men.

Sometimes people who visit Hawaii end up with elevated blood pressure. It’s just the positive inotropic effect.

Robin Hood (1991)- The English dub is unwatchable (especially the pilot) but it is so wonderful you can almost tolerate the horrendous dub. It’s on Youtube, the one with the very 80s opener.

Medabots, Season 1- The English dub is fantastic. It is very enjoyable all around and kid friendly. Drama, action, approaches serious themes and a lot of goofballs. It’s just lots of fun.

Okko’s Inn - I stumbled about it and it just has that indescribable comfort quality like Studio Ghibli films

MMA training will significantly improve your cardio-respiratory health, i.e. increasing your lifespan because VO2 max is considered a hallmark indicator of a long lifespan. You will see improved flexibility, will correct muscular imbalances in the body, and save your spine from compression injuries. Improved reaction time and dexterity, learning how to avoid a fight or potentially saving yourself from a fight, actual fighting skills. You will become very graceful on your feet when you want to be. It’s also significantly more social if you spar or train with other people. Most of the time bodybuilders aren’t working anywhere close to their 1rm so they often train alone, which is up to personal preferences whether that is a benefit or not).

Mma is less expensive.

Women prefer men with a fighter’s body significantly more than a bodybuilder’s. It’s media manipulating men to believe bodybuilding physiques are attractive to women. Men recognize the determination it takes to get a bodybuilding physique.

The reality is most pro bodybuilders are also abusing PEDs. So the chances of ever feeling satisfied with your appearance without turning to drugs is very low. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing, but people might have different views about this.

Also recognize that bodybuilding is a completely different sport than strength training for strongmen. By moving away from bodybuilding, you might actually start finding it easier to throw heavier weights around.

Monitor your calories, including calories from drinks. Men need 2000 and women 1600.

Exercise every single day. Forget exercising in terms of minutes, instead focus on intensity. One really good set of squats or pushups every day to a high rep range would do most people a lot of good. Do one exercise seriously in the morning and one at night if you are really crunched for every minute. Wall stands, pullups, and burpees (with a jumping knee slap) have a lot of reward and have very small time investments.

Don’t smoke. It negatively affects every system of the body.

Turn mundane tasks into an exercise. Park further from the store front. Carry a basket instead of a cart. Cooking? Practice shadow boxing, kicks, dancing, etc. Carry the dog food to the car.

Yeah “gourmet” donuts have the wrong texture and usually taste funky. A beignet is what I would consider a fancy donut but mainly because lots of different toppings actually work well with them.

Sour cream donuts are the best and most places don’t even sell them anymore. “Gourmet” places don’t have them. Snowflake is the only chain that has them. So I only go to hole in the wall donut shops or Snowflake.

Rumspringa was an enjoyable film. Not a classic, just a feel-good movie. Which is perfect because the actors use language you would find natives using.

Social contract theory is not a moral philosophy. It is a theory about the organization of human civilization

Just What I Needed - The Cars

I learned it for a recording session so it’s grown on me but it’s one of the most uniquely awful guitar solos ever. It’s also not a technically simple solo so learning it was more like learning an unnecessarily challenging warm-up exercise.

At it’s core Judo is about performing throws, or rather controlling the center of gravity, while Muay Thai is heavily focused on strikes. Strikes are going to really suck in old age. Your bones are weaker and a lot of older folks have arthritis, carpal tunnel, or some other nerve pain. Much longer recovery times too. You could say the same is true for judo, especially because throwing someone causes a lot of trauma, but with judo, you can dial back the intensity easily. You probably want to avoid actually sparring and practice forms/katas (whatever they’re called) more. Maybe you replace your 50lb sandbag with a 20lb bag. I don’t see what you can do with Muay Thai to make it safer. The hip strength and flexibility is invaluable as long as you don’t overdo it.

TONS. Lots of silent films were redone. And again once color rolled around. Ben Hurr is a good example. Also, any monster movie (Frankenstein and the like)

There are implied rules in the social contract, we just don’t think about them often.
