You can test by temping this lead to ground. If your bike starts in any gear, even with clutch not pulled, this lead goes to neutral switch.

Neutral switch lead? Mine was like this, I grounded it and bike would start in any gear, so I ran a lead up through the clutch lever then to ground. Now bike will start if either in neutral OR clutch lever pulled.
