Healing isn’t as effective as crowd control except possibly when paired with the items that give buffs along with healing, like the ring Volo sells.

I took one cleric level with my bard and was happy about it. Was war domain tho for extra attacks and the spell bless. Bless is your best bet. Also look for items that add bonuses to your healing. Volo has one to trade. You can get two more in act one. Be nice to people.

Healing in general isn’t as potent as controlling enemy turns, but there are enough support spells that you will have plenty to do.

Exactly this. Everyone in the Throne is saveable. The ones in the factory are near suicidal.
