I second this. It's a 2.5D platformer but the level of detail in the background is insane!
I absolutely love this game ( and the one OP posted)
I'm playing this right now. Pretty solid game indeed.
Oooh I love this game! I used to sneak about on certain levels for fun!
same i grew up playing this game. My friend let me play it on his Xbox 360 then i bought it i hope they remake this game
I played on the Wii first lmao
The crazy thing about this game is when you learn that IO Interactive made it
Ah memories I actually playtested this game
kinda wanna buy it on steam but it’s probably outdated
I played it the other day. Ran great and brought back so many memories!
I'm sure it's playable if they sell it, otherwise just refund it
It's playable and it's like 2 euro on some 3rd party sites.
Army Men 3D on Playstation. A true classic.
I loved the hell out of Army Men!
Fuck me I had completely forgot about this game even existing, you awoke a dormant memory in my brain, OP
you welcome lol but it’s a great game especially for the kids
Army of Two
Why is this not talked about more ???
I have 3: Darkwood, CrossCode and Enderal.
The first two are some of the best indie games imo (Darkwood is the most terrifying game I've ever played); and Enderal, while technically a Skyrim mod and therefore more of a niche one, is a completely separate game and the best RPG I've ever played.
It has its own release on steam, it just runs on the Skyrim engine.
Darkwood is really special very unique game hope they make a sequel or another game like it
Darkwood is the first thing I thought of. It gets some mentions in the horror gaming subreddits but overall it’s criminally underrated. Best horror game I’ve played.
Crosscode is a game I’ve given a couple tries to. It doesn’t make any sense, it should be exactly the sort of game I would love. However, I just can’t get into it. Your post is a good reminder to give it another try.
The hitman ripoff where you're a teddy bear serial killing other teddy bears
Naughty Bear?!
He's back to killing people in Dead By Daylight these days. lol
Shadow Fight 2
Holy shit, yes! A mobile game with really fun gameplay that could easily be made into a full console game
I’m still trying to make my way through the campaign in 3… is 2 better than 3?
Yes it is
But it’s weird they made Shadow the main villain of 3
It’s insane how good the story, combat, music and visual story telling is for what is a sequel to a basic flash warrior game that use to be on Facebook lol
I’m still at the weird time travel (I think) segment, the prison is nearing my assssss

I prefer the visuals and progression of 2
isn’t that the mobile ninja/samurai game?
Oh, I got one for you.
Red Steel 2 only for the Wii.
A Samurai Western hack and slash that worked really well with the Wii remotes and was actually tons of fun despite its relatively short campaign.
I'm not saying it's Titanfall 2 or anything, but for a non-Nintendo made Wii game, it was surprisingly good, but I've never heard or seen ANYONE in my life, or even on the internet, talk about it.
It lives on as a small but impactful part of my childhood.
I think The Spoony One/Experiment mentions it in one of their videos, which is full force my only knowledge on the game. It's awesome but short campaign is pretty much all I've ever heard about it in follow up readings lol
Prince of Persia ‘08. It’s so damn beautiful.
man i loved those games back on the ps2 and xbox 360
YES!!! Xbox 360 had the best ones.
Oh man, it's probably been over 10 years since I played Mini Ninjas. I don't remember much about it, but for some reason a random cutscene where some character says "we're doOOoOmed!" has stuck with me for all these years.
My pick would be Garlic. It's an obscure indie platformer, but a really good one. It's also one of the funniest games I've ever played.
Another pick would be Mirror's Edge: Catalyst. I see people praise the first game all the time, but I almost never see anyone mention the sequel, and definitely not in a positive light. It's genuinely one of my favorite games ever made.
Tenchu wrath of heaven and kurenai
Road 96
Still remember the "mininini ninjas"
Sly Raccoon is Goted
Sry I mean Sly Cooper 😅
very one of my first games as a kid back on the ps2
Good times. I played it with my mother
Mini ninjas is literally sekiro for kids and its amazing would love a second one
Chivalry 2
The 7th gen Cybertron games
These games reignited my childhood love of Transformers, and directly led to my current action figure addiction.
Metal Gear Acid, even though it is tragically locked to psp (unless you dont mind sailing the seas)
Holy fuck I forgot this game existed, I was obsessed!
Big fan of the Metal Gear series, super excited for the MGS 3 remake but I've never actually played Acid or Peace Walker for that matter. Maybe it's time to finally check those ones out.
The Epic Battle Fantasy series.
If you like old-school turn based JRPGs, a colorful hand-drawn Flash artstyle, and 2010s internet humour, I recommend it.
Breakdown (Xbox)
Fear Effect (PS1)
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks (Xbox, PS2)
Gunvalkyrie (Xbox)
Strider 2 (PS1, Arcade)
Winback (N64 version only)
I could go on and on
Ahhh, Mini Ninjas! I used to love this game as a kid! I never actually got around to beating it though.
Disc Jam, before the multiplayer servers closed down
That's one of my favourite games from my childhood.
I LOVE THIS GAME. It’s so weird you posted this, I was just talking about it the other day trying to remember what the name was until I looked it up. I have to agree with you !!
Bugsnax was popular a few years ago iirc but I haven’t really heard people talk about it since
I thought about getting it in the Steam sale
It’s really fun
It’s good, I’d recommend it
Evil West or Metal Hellsinger
3D Dot Game Heroes. A FromSoft game that came out before they were pretty much known as the ‘souls-born’ guys. Pretty much made no excuses for being an OG Zelda clone but it was and still is one of the best and most unique looking games ever made and had a cool system where as you got damaged your sword got smaller
Loved this game! Wish I hadn't sold it all those years ago. I made my own character and was a walking pot leaf. Good times.
Puppeteer
Mink ninjas was amazing. Though I only played it on Wii, it was still pretty good
I-ninja was also a darn good time
I loved this game! Funny enough, I was actually just talking about it with my brother today. Played the hell outta it when it dropped. Played it my entire winter break of my freshman year of high school. Good times man….
it would be nice if they remade it or made a 3rd game
I know right. It really disappoints me that it got demoted to being an Xbox Kinect game, then an eventual mobile game. It deserves to stay on consoles and continue as a series. The game was so….quaint, and I loved it for that.
Alice: madness returns
super cool game (tho i am stuck at the point where )
Psychonauts both the sequel and the first game in the original Xbox
The Toy Story game for the Xbox 360
Thats a bloody awesome game
i-ninja, Legend of Kay, that zoids battle game, Vex
HOLY FUCKING SHIT MATE YOU UNLOCKED MY NOSTALGIA!
THANK YOU!!! I FORGOT THIS GAME EXISTED!
you welcome bud🤣
Robot arena 2
Dungeon Defenders
Mmm its on steam mmm might have to check pcgamingwiki to see if it can run I really hope so
Dawg you got no idea how many times I played the demo of this on the xbox360. Nostalgia unlocked
Whiplash, holds up pretty well to this day. It even inspired an indie spiritual successor HellPie that put an adult spin on the formula.
This was one of the first games I bought on steam.
Scrapland is an amazing game from 2004 with a fun spaceship combat system.
Lego Racers on N64
The Legacy of Kain series
I-Ninja! I have it on PS2! Such a fun platformer, and the main character is voiced by Billy West
Dredge, outside of the r/dredge sub and friends I’ve introduced to it I’ve heard no one talk about it, it’s by no means a flashy game but it’s got an intriguing story and addictive game play
This game was one of my first platinums.
WITCHSPRING R
Swordigo is such a good game it's crazy that it's just a mobile game
Small turn based rogueliked called Quasimorph
silent hill: the short message
people always shit on it when it's not even bad, it's a FREE GAME unlike silent hill ascension at least. also, they think its "cringe" because it's about mental health and bullying as if silent hill 2 doesnt cover the same topics (all the mfs except laura are mentally ill and eddie gets bullied). i bet the short message also has similarities with the other silent hill games too but i havent played the rest yet, only sh2 and the short message but i havent finished them
A Boy and his Blob. I’ve only played the remake, and it’s absolutely fantastic. The levels are challenging and rewarding, the sound design is so magical, the enemies are downright scary, I love everything about it
The transformers armada game on the ps2. It was just called “Transformers”
Remember Me on ps3. Such a fantastic attempt at a new ip that under utilized its main selling point. A sequel could have easily fixed its wrongs.
FUCKING LOVED MINI NINJAS 😭🥺❤️
Ubisoft games
Mini ninjas was so fire. My favorite thing was always to use the animal possession skill or whatever it was to sneak around as the enemy.
My personal favorite though would be Goosebumps Horrorland for the PS2
Just Cause 3
OH YEAH THIS AMAZING GAME
I forgot about this one
Core memory awakened, I forgot about this gem.
Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (2014) and Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 (2016)
As stupid as it sounds, a wacky 3rd person hero shooter based around Plants Vs Zombies is actually good.
Genuinely, it brings some interesting additions to the hero shooter genre that makes the game feel fresh and replayable. When entering a game, you are assigned to be either a plant or a zombie; in the first game, there are 4 playable classes with their own abilities on each team, totaling in 8 classes. The second game adds four new classes on each team, totaling in 16 classes. But, the really interesting part is that each class has multiple variations that you can unlock.
Typically these variants either have a different primary or some sort of gimmick. For example, the Ice Pea (a variant of Peashooter) has a special ice effect which can freeze zombies after enough hits, or another example is the Chemist (a variant of the Scientist Zombie) which has a more close range shotgun primary.
These games are both extremely fun and are still active. I still play daily and I typically find full lobbies of people.
Splitgate
unfortunately it died but it was fun when i played it
Holy fucking shit, you just unlocked a cannon event for me... I remember playing this with my mom when I was like 6 and I could never remember it's name
Alien Isolation. The people you do hear talking about it usually have very good things to say, but I’m surprised that game has stayed so small for so long.
Lost in Random
Barnyard video game
the first naruto ultimate ninja storm was so good
Mini nijas was a vibe
Love mini Ninjas. I'll give some games of a similar theme:
Mark of the Ninja - 2.5d stealth game which is absolutely amazing
Tenchu Z - Fromsofts kinda forgotten about stealth Ninja game, this game is one of my all time favourites, while it's an older game from the 360 era it doesn't take away from the fun of doing lots of missions, approaching them how you want, similar to hitman games to be honest.
One game that isn't Ninja related that i don't think anyone has talked about it an indie game called Charlie Murder, it's an emo Castle Crashers that my partner and I used to play so often co op. Like the previous two games, it's a 360 game but none the less it's great.
(almost) anything that comes out of Amanita Design. Samorost, Machinarium
Kung Fu chaos.
Man I had so much fun playing this with friends as a kid. I would probably buy an original Xbox just to replay it
Brave fencer musashi
Loved mini ninjas!!! Totally forgot about it.
Heeeeyyy I remember this,it was surprisingly fun
Days Gone
Bro Mini Ninjas was Peak af
Deathloop
Hero siege is t bad at all, though it stays at “mixed” rating on steam. It’s solid fun and really damn a decent arpg
Dirty Bomb
Crawl by Powerhoof
It is a pixel-art dungeon-delving 4-player arcade-style 3v1 hack and slash rogue-like
Pretty long description, but it was one of my favorite local-multiplayer games when I was a teen. I wish my university friends were more into it, or had a built-in online. They're such a small team at Powerhoof though, so I understand why they couldn't build it in.
Second Sight. Psychic psychic bendy spoons.
Dead or alive 6. Games pretty much dead and hated by not only the fan base, but also by fighting game players in general. I’ve played all the fighting games and none of them really clicked for me the way DOA does. I definitely get clowned on for this being my favorite fighting game, but what can ya do 🤷♂️
Spiderheck (co op only because it's the only good mode)
Was it a game where you needed the kinect thing, and had to do diferent moves in order to attack enemies at diferent ranges?
I don't eemember much about the game, but Eco Creatures: Save the Forest
FancyPants Man Adventures
Hours upon Hours of Racing My friends and people online
Honorable Mention: Bomberman Ultra/Live
Kung Fu Chaos
Warhawk
Bopl Battle on steam.
Super fun and fast paced platform fighter, feels straight out of classic school flash games.
Fracture on the PS3 is a good game that I've never heard anyone talk about
I've never played this game, but I played the PS3 Demo like 200 times.
I hardly ever hear anyone talk about any of the orcs must die games, but man, they're a blast.
I-ninja, a REALLY good game that you'd be surprised at but holy fuck I never find anything about it
Metal arms: glitch in the system, a fun third person shooter where you take back the world but you can dismembere the enemies AND they fart when they do!
There’s this indie game called Executive Assault 2 that’s genuinely so cool and nobody knows about it
Also Barotrauma is like the best coop survival horror game I’ve ever played and I never see anyone talk about it anymore
Oh I remember this game, had the ds version though so limited to 3 ninja
BOTW before BOTW existed
Crossout
Moss
I only know bout this game cuz of the cartoon adaptation.
IS THAT FUTO FROM HITMAN WORLD OF ASSASSINATION
Jet set radio and jet set radio future. I was never good at it but it was an awesome game
3D Dot Game Heros was cool
Hah. My wife’s on the shorter side and every time she sneaks up on me I have to say “mini mini ninjas!”
Ghost Song and Tunic
Peak Nostalgia gaming
Metal arms: Glitch in the system.
Modnation Racers is the best kart game ever made
Satisfactory is actually a super fun and addicting game if you're engineering/mechanically inclined. You find resources and use them to build a fully functioning factory than can connect to other factories around the map and build some amazing products as a result. Very similar to Legos and I actually use my playthrough on my engineering resume as work experience (admittedly its the last one I talk about as it's not strictly speaking real experience but has a lot of the concepts in engineering in it).
P.A.I.N.
I'm sad I made the same post in this sub here and had crickets but I'm glad to see atleast some people are remembering it! Thanks for giving it the recognition again OP
Custom Robo Arena.
A Rose in the Twilight, and the Yomawari trilogy. The first Yomawari got kinda popular but the sequels not so much, the second is particularly fantastic. Also Rakuen.
MADNESS; Project Nexus
20+ hours of shit to do
Wet on PS3, action game with Quentin Taratino flare. Just plain fun.
Wip3out Omega Collection. A remaster compilation of the Wipeout racing games. Ever wanted to play a gleaming super-future high speed hovercar Mario Kart? This one's got you covered. Plus the soundtrack's a banger.
Army men RTS
I am a peddler of obscure indie games, so I am ripe with this kind of thing. I'll give out 3.
- Lamentum
- Bad North
- Figment
I never hear anyone talk about katamari damacy and that's a shame
I really liked the Small Soldiers rts game for PC. Simple enough for me, who was like 10 years old at the time to get through the campaign, and the variety of units and all their different capabilities was really cool at the time. The voice acting was also on point with the movie.
Phantom Crash - Xbox
Like 1% of Roblox games
(But also Wizard of Legend, it’s $4.80 on steam right now please please please get it)
Wizard of Legend is peak rougelike, along side streets of rouge
Disney’s Guilty Party on Wii
I thought this was ininja at first
Of Orcs and Men.
it may be old, the animation and graphics may be dated, but the story is good and the gameplay is unmatched.
Dark and Darker.
GTA v
Its on steam for $1.50 atm!
Hand of fate and hand of fate 2
Fairytale Fights
Megaton rainfall
Asterigos curse of the stars
Outcast, both of them
iNinja was great too, was a PS2 game iirc, was your classic 3D platformer but you were a ninja, totally forgot it existed before seeing this.
So you're asking for my favorite games of all time? Sure thing~
Megaman Legends 2
Muramasa: Demon Blade
Mana Khemia
Gris
Dungeon Fighter Online
Gunvolt 2
Final Fantasy IX (compared to others in the series)
I'd also list Sonic 3, but it gets fair attention.
Cold fear. Great game that got overshadowed by RE4
Crying Suns. Indie rogue like rts. Blacktail- best execution of fairytale setting I've ever seen
9 missing replies
That was pretty good OP.
My pick is
F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch
It's a pretty good metroidvania.
