Joe Rogan was much better as a stand-up comedian than anything else he's done in his career
Truly an unpopular opinion. Evidently fear is not a factor for you.
Goddamn you.
Poor man award
Seriously? I always thought his stand-up was dog shit
That’s because it is!
Blink two times of you're just high and agreeing with everyone else in this thread
I mean, the Idiocracy type scenario with the pyramids is comedy gold
EDIT: I don't get the downvotes here because this was a joke and a reference to Joe's comedy act.
I'm inherently aware this is an unpopular opinion, so why people downvoting for using the sub as intended??
If you have an unpopular opinion, then your post gets upvoted, but you'll get torn a new one in the comments, lol
And yeah, don't hate Saint Rogies, but his standup isn't great, unless you are into stool-humping
Clearly an unpopular opinion based on the comments, but zero post upvotes as well..
How exactly does this sub work??
Just I thought I'd have a try at it but this was just brutal and not fun at all.
I do actually hold this opinion and know it's unpopular.
I'll upvote you, buddy!
i was even surprised he was a comedian. i thought he was always a podcaster lol
Maybe everything else he did was just even worse
Nah, I like the podcast
It's 100% garbage. He has a name and a following outside comedy so people watch him because of that. There is no way he'd have a Netflix special with that routine if he wasn't already popular.
Fear Factor was one of the most successful game shows of all time. I still have fond memories of watching that show.
Definitely an unpopular opinion. His podcast and UFC commentary are his best work. Even his time as fear factor host was probably better than his stand up.
Newsradio…
he had writers. good ones
I feel it’s the opposite.
The podcast was genuinely good up until about 2017-2018, but I’ve never thought his comedy was very good.
He’s also pretty good with the UFC, although he’s fallen off a little bit.
I don't think the podcast fell off. People just started loving to hate him when he got political, and became friends with Alex Jones.
Eh, I think it did fall off a bit.
It’s just hard for anything to stay around for that long and not have some sort of decline.
As the podcast became huge and Joe became rich, his guests are less and less keen to actually challenge him, and they know that if they play their cards right, they can get some portion of his following to become their fans and make tons of money, so they stay on their best behavior, and it makes the podcast a bit sterile and boring.
Honestly the more interesting the guest, the more interesting the episode. He usually has some sort of subject matter expert on there so it's mostly Joe just listening and commenting. Not really a debate style conversation.
If it's just some nobody on there to promote their latest project, then yeah, it's going to sound more like what you described.
He and everyone else was great in NewsRadio.
Wow, an unpopular opinion that's subjective enough to agree on. But most people think his standup is mediocre at best.
Giving you a like because this is definitely unpopular, but in my opinion his stand up is terrible. He thrives at all of the other stuff he does.
Best UFC commentator ever
*MMA
He has this ability to set his podcast guests at ease...they seem so informal and up forward with him. Could be the use of booze and weed, could be something about Joe...could be both.
You mean the fear factor guy?
I’m fairly certain the truth is the opposite of this
That's subjective because I do actually hold this opinion even know it's clearly unpopular.
Fear Factor was pretty good

I miss knowing him as just the least funny character on Newsradio
Def unpopular opinion his standup is terrible compared to everything else he’s done in his career
I’m a big fan of Fear Factor
He’s wayyyy better at commentating
It’s the opposite but I guess that’s why ur post is on this sub
As a huge MMA fan, he by far is the best color commentator the UFC has ever had.
He will always be the host of Fear Factor to me.
It's pretty unpopular, the guy it's not funny at all. His best work has been the UFC and some bright years of the podcast.
His comedy it's not for me.
Defnitely unpopular, Joe Rogan woukd be irrelevant today if it wasn't for Fear Factor, UFC and his effing podcast
Look, regardless of anything other postings here, I think we can all agree that when he hosted "The New Man Show", that was the worst thing humanly possible, and should be collectively erased from all of human history, and the producers of that show killed.
He was a horrible commedian but I agree. He was much better at that.
This post is a really good way to find out who to block...
Could not disagree more. He's lame at standup but great at getting a conversation going no matter the guess.
This is a wild take. Objectively speaking if we use monetary success his best skill is podcasting.
Joe Rogan as a comedian is trash. Just like Jay Leno he’s better at speaking to people. I love Joe Rogan’s long interviews with people he’s better at that then stand up
I found his standup funny but I was like a 20 year old college kid and probably high when I watched it. Not sure how it holds up after all these years
You love torture
I don't know, basically everything i know about how to appreciate MMA I learned from him. No matter how funny he is it would be impossible for him to enrich my life that much with comedy. Not even Dave Chappelle enriched my life that much, and he's the best ever.
Yes I agree stand up comedy was the thing he was least terrible at
You must think he is the #1 comedian in the world's history then.
He is the #1 Podcaster by miles
By far the best ufc commentator
Fear factor was wild.
He’s the most stoned podcaster
I don't care too much about Rogan either way, but his stand up is especially abysmal. I watched one of his specials with some friends a few years ago, and he didn't even manage to make us laugh once. It was that bad. We were collectively shocked at how something so poor can get released.
Upvote for a genuinely unpopular opinion.
Joe rogan still thinks louder equals funnier
Fear factor is why he got famous. No one liked his stand up very much.
All my friends loved his comedy back when it came out. I guess we were just stoners who liked to laugh at dumb stuff
So you like humping stools style comedy
He’s the best at ufc commentating. Then comes his podcast (when he has interesting guests on instead of super right wing guests where he just complains about covid and how old Biden is the whole time) and lastly his horrendous stand up.

So what if he is 5'3?
Question is how much do you weigh?
its not about loudness, its about energy though
