Is it just me or are the drivers here getting worse and worse as time goes on. Literally this week alone I was almost hit twice and I can't count the number of people I see blowing stop signs and red lights.
It’s pretty awful. Someone was straight coming at me the wrong way down Anderson the other day. Passed up several opportunities to turn off and kept going as far as I could see in my rear view.
Earlier this week I had someone coming head-on towards me on White Bluff so that they could turn into the Zaxby's
We don’t have ridiculously high car insurance for no reason!!!
Welcome to Savannah! I'm Mike Hostilo.
🎤 Do yourself a favor and listen to me. Get out of your car, and just walk down the street. 🎤
Hahahahahahahahaha
Exactly, mine is $170 for a 2015 paid off vehicle and in my thirty plus years of driving no ticket, or an at fault accident. The same with my husband. 😡
More and more people moving here with their own bad habits nor any idea about traffic patterns here. not to mention our already shit drivers
I don’t know about worse, but Savannah has the worst drivers I’ve seen anywhere. Charlotte had the craziest I’ve ever seen. Here, they’re just plain bad and/or careless.
It’s super bad. I’ve never seen this many people try to merge on to the highway at 40mph
30,000 new residents with no major infrastructure improvements will do that
Also RIP to my insurance rates. I hate everyone.
Lol, Liberty Mutual dropped me for the zip code and I’ve never had a ticket in my life. Now Geico is straight up highway robbery
Try root insurance
It's just people. Nobody cares about anyone else anymore....
You're not wrong
the drivers here really piss me off, no one knows how to use a damn turn signal and i drive 70-75mph on veterans because yall force me too, keeping in mind the speed limit is 55 and mfs still come up on my ass and go around me like they got a fucking problem it actually pisses me off so bad i was thinking about making this post too the other day
Meanwhile, they want to go 45 in a 55 going to Tybee
true, but i’d rather that than the speeding through cars as it doesn’t put everyone else driving at risk
Nothing makes me more made then the person doing 25-30 on white bluff.
It’s almost like Red lights are optional for some people. Watched 2 people run Red lights on Abercorn this morning
I literally watch someone new run a red light every day on abercorne and white bluff
Abercorn and Derenne is the worst intersection in town for this. Victory and Whitacre can also be a scary one.
I once watched five cars in a row run the light at Abercorn and Victory long after it had turned red.
The amount of people that text and drive is baffling to me. It irks me the most when I’m on my motorcycle.
Someone with a boat trailer driving down wrong side of Windsor road just now and refusing to move.
I've been in those "two left turn lanes" and the other people cut into my lane and run me off the road way too many times for how rarely I leave the house. between that and how ridiculously slow or fast drivers are around here, driving is my least favorite thing to do. I try to bike as much as possible and just stick to the low traffic roads a much as possible
I’m from Germany and I get so extremely frustrated and even scared with the driving here. I used to love driving back home but I threat every drive I have to do over here.
1/4 of the cars are billowing pot smoke or sporting out of state plates and 1/2 of them have Octogenarian+ drivers. Good news is if you give it another 10 years half the problem will be gone.
I was just remarking at the weed the other day. I'm down for it at home or parked in the grass at Forsythe, but it's wild to smell it from a car or so ahead while doing 70 on 95.
I was just in a state where it's legal even and didn't smell it from other cars at all, not even when driving through downtown Grand Rapids.
Savannah should just ban cars.
What about those who live on the islands and go to work in Savannah?
They don't kill as many children as cars do, but if you want to ban them too then I support you
Intersection of northbound Habersham and Victory this morning, Land Rover Discovery in the left hand turning lane decides to go straight and runs the car in front of me almost into the westbound traffic on Victory.
What the hell guys.
I don't have a car, I take public transit. But from the bus I have seen people in tiny little cars trying to cut off a BUS. If the bus driver hadn't been on the ball, those cars would have been pancakes.
Florida creep
No , it's the natives.
They might have GA plates but I bet ya they are from Florida
Yeah I'm gonna agree with that. I'm in Jax frequently. Those folks are savages. Was on the Northside of Jacksonville today and stop at a red light. It was red 200+ feet before I got to it. I stopped and a dude behind me went into the oncoming lane so he could make a left turn. On a red light. Completely illegal turn. That isn't the first time down there I've witnessed it.
Complete. Savages.
It’s the Wild West down there
Georgia drivers in general are pretty awful
I agree. No one knows how to maintain their lane, I swear.
I almost got run off the road by a semi truck on 95 going past Savannah. I was lucky no one was in the emergency lane.
I watched an suv leave their lane (for no reason) at the top of 16/516 and come within an inch of ramming into the truck that had been riding beside them since Chatham parkway Thankfully the truck was paying attention and was able to brake, with no one behind them. Had they hit at 70mph they’d have been over the wall A little while later two cars in front of me turning from bee onto victory just sat through the turn light, shit I honked. A texting driver ran a stop sign with no hands on the actual wheel a little while later. That was all today. I spent the weekend in various parts of Atlanta and felt no stress. But by the time I hit Bulloch county Monday, I started experiencing stupidity and it’s not stopped since.
So funny you post this. I got in 3 different altercations today! One guy halfway in my lane then when I honk he starts cursing and flipping me off. A woman honking and cursing at me that I won't turn left at a light with oncoming traffic actively coming. And a guy turning from a stop sign into the adjacent lane as I'm oncoming and again gets in my lane and I had to swerve. ALL IN THE SPAN OF AN HOUR.
Welcome to savannah. this is all the norm unfortunately and the more people that come and clog the city the worse it will get.
I grew up in NJ. Driving in savannah is really a breeze 🤣
seriously. I've lived in Hialeah that is notorious for it's horrible drivers, but I've never seen so many ran red lights and people using their phones!
It's all the transplants coming here
I would like to say, not to excuse the bad drivers here because there are and it’s actually so aggravating but apple maps sometimes takes you down the wrong road even with it being a one way. It has happened before with a few friends who didn’t know the area as well. I am not sure why apple maps does that but it could make a potential increase in people going down the wrong way on a one way.
It's not just you. Savannah drivers are the worst I've ever come across. Driving the wrong way down one way streets, driving on the shoulders, going 30 over and weaving in and out of lanes without signaling, and the passionate love affair they have with their horns. And the authorities turn a blind eye to all of it, so it just keeps happening.
The worst drivers in any place I’ve ever lived. I’ve lived in Alabama, Texas, California, Virginia, and a lot of time in Vegas. It’s not even close. The sheer amount of no-thought decision making I see on the way to work only 10 minutes away. I live in the Pooler area, so it’s not even many cars on the road…
Not to mention the cyclists, people on those stupid electric scooters, and skateboarders that treat cars, buses, and trolleys like a challenge.
The weed isn't helping.
I need to be high to be around savannah drivers. I lived in California and I know most of those drivers are baked and Savannah drivers don’t come close to the driving ability of those potheads.
Red lights got a 5 second grace period 😂
