how would you consider this way of cooking eggs? I cook it halfway sunnyside up and then pop the yolk and scramble it around, is it scrambled or something else?
am i insane for not thinking this is scrambled persay
I would do this even when eggs were like 10 cents each. Can't be wasting a perfectly good egg just because the universe has decided it should be scrambled
Ik you're joking but "divorced eggs" are actually a real mexican dish, it's basically 2 sunny side up eggs on top of fried tortillas with refried beans, and one of the eggs is sauced with green salsa and the other one with red salsa. If you google "divorced eggs" you can actually see some pictures :)
I like it this way. My mom always used to eat eggs like this when we were little (the kids didn’t want popped yolks). I grew up watching her eat them and overtime I came to love them. Eggs like this, slightly burnt toast, and kinda weak coffee (again how she drank it) is still a comfort meat to this day.
I do this too, and I call them scrambled. They are stirred together while in a low heat egg pan. I fully mix/whisk prior to cooking in the pan only for omelettes.
I dated a girl in Colombia for a while and literally the only thing she could cook was huevos y arepas aka eggs and a super thick corn tortilla. Everything about how she cooked was against everything I was ever taught but to this day I cannot replicate how smooth and delicious her scrambled eggs were. Cold pan, eggs never beaten, forgetting about them. Yet always perfect and I can't recreate them. They looked a bit like these.
We called that wrecked eggs when I was growing up. Scrambled was all yellow from mixing beforehand and wrecked was yellow and white from mixing halfway through.
I sorta do this when I make a breakfast sandwich - fry until the white is almost cooked to firm up the shape, then break the yolk and flip it. Ends up with the white cooked and the yolk mostly cooked so that it's still soft but doesn't run everywhere as you eat it.
Sounds pretty good, I need to try this. I wouldn't let the yolks cook anymore though and just take it immediately off the heat so the egg whites still have some gooey yolks covering them.
That’s how my grandmother made what she called scrambled eggs. Except the whites would get more crispy around the edges and the yolks were a bit runny and not quite as fluffy, I spent an entire summer trying to replicate them. I’ve gotten close enough.
Alright so this does look delicious no lie. Imho in life? I've often thought if someone starts with the intention of how something is cooked then changes to something else, that sadly is where the problem arises bc say you serve what's pictured to me, I would agree with you that perhaps they may have started sunny side up, however when it's finished it looks scrambled, but that's now the other problem from my side at least on another side note.....and that's if it was fed to me I still wouldn't say anything to your cooking skills that isn't truly the case bc I was raised to NEVER speak ill to the chef, but I also thought that since you weren't feeding that to me irl, I'd be honest & direct instead, also I'm not a chef so if I am wrong & it's something different from scrambled then feel free to correct me &/or feel differently, bc again that plate does look delicious so imho if anyone out says "you don't cook what you say" that's why I like to think of cooking as making art not only is open to interpretation but it like art also has plenty of room to improve. Take care.
Sorry, not related to the eggs at all, but love the plate! My mom had those exact plates while I was growing up. Haven’t seen them in like 30 years. Unexpected nostalgia in the eggs subreddit lol.
This is the only way I cook eggs. I love scrambled eggs, but don't like them dry. That shit's gross. It needs to have some yolk left so they're still a little wet.
It's a pan-scramble, for like when you fuck up normal fried eggs lol or are out camping or something and don't have a bowl to properly scramble the eggs. Those are great to throw into a tortilla for a quick breakfast burrito 😁
Only do this when I fuck up the flip on my fried eggs lmao
