Back when I first started playing and had no idea what I was doing, I was about to starve and I decided to pick a cactus not knowing it hurt me. So I died from a cactus. Not my best moment.
Imagine in real life, you're literally about to die from starvation, you touch a cactus spike and prick your finger a little bit, then proceed to spontaneously implode and literally just fucking die 😭
What a way to go 😭 on the other hand imagine aimlessly standing there while a group of wild dogs attack you, by some miracle you survive and then a single bee is your downfall. I love this game, the possibilities are endless! 🤣

Played as wagstaff: - was starving - opened the icebox full of cooked meals - panicked - ate monstermeat at 5 hp and died
Other notable deaths as wagstaff - tried burning a killer bee hive resulting in angry bees that were on fire - died from a hound as i wasnt wearing goggles and wagstaff rather commented on how he cant see than striking the hound
Maxwell in dst: - Struck by lightning 5 times in a row , revived wilson with 5 hp left after making a telltale heart , struck by lightning again and died - killed by my pet beefalo 'shit' - a bunch of very angry bunnymen...

On god they nerfed the fuck outta them in dst, they’re less than a shell of their former power now
Last quality-of-life update fixed it. Now we got the neutered bees in single player too.

This, until they had a new patch not sure if they fixed it but in DS the bees can move while attacking you and their attack range is bigger than your attack range. Kiting beeswarm is possible in DST but not in DS

it happened yesterday…
a friend and I wanted to go to Lunar Island to kill some salamanders to get dragon fruit, it was spring i was wurt he was wormwood,
apparently for them to drop Dragon fruit they need to be near a heat source, so we got one to the hot spring it bloomed and we didn’t know that they had a special attack for when he is bloomed he set us on fire (wormwood died to it ) it was raining at the moment and I didn’t have any wetness protection since I was wurt, and it was mostly fine when wet except the freezeing the salamander left me on 7 hp and then I started freezing because of the wetness guess what happened…
I had this 400+ days world as Wigfrid (in DS RoG) and I hadn't died in a loong time. This was like 7 years ago maybe, so there weren't that many things to do on the game, so I was megabasing and hoarding stuff, like the Bell that spawns the Big Foot. Then a racoon tryed to get the bell that was on the floor, resulting in ringing it, and the world started to shake, as it should, because the Big Foot was walking his way directly to my base :) I panicked and tried to grab the Bell right as the Big Foot one shoted me and I died. Canon cause of death: Big Fooooot

I like to bring food enough to do target process and sometimes it not goes as my plan (because Wigfrid more difficult to find food too)
99% of my deaths show up as "shenanigans" because I play so heavily modded I always end up having to kill myself via commands when someone gets stuck or broken
Mine is probably a Hamlet world as Wormwood.
The bfb was flying overhead, ran into the pig town cause the bfb can't land on the town terf. Went into my house while bfb was still flying above to grab something. Step outside and the bfb immediately curbstomped me right outside my house cause my house was on some grassy terf and thus TECHNICALLY I was no longer within the town.
Never been more stunned by a game over screen before in my life.

there is no florid postern in single and life giving amulets only work if you're wearing them when u die so they're not really reliable

I think the content is generally simpler/ easier, there's not as much to worry about
In dst there are some parts that are a lot easier due to having multiple people & more ways to revive yourself in case of death
In single player there aren't as many ways to cheat death, one could say.
It's easier to survive imo especially only having one person to take care of but if you struggle to not die it's a lot harder

I was playing Hamlet as Wendy. Before the latest update ghosts used to trigger the dart traps inside the ruins. Aporkalypse started and I was trying to get to the clock to turn it off. You can probably already see where this is going. I enter a room and Abigail steps on a plate. One of the hostile ghosts steps on another plate, then a third one does the same right after. I died to a one-two-three punch of one dart after another and I lost that run. Probably the most infuriating death I have experienced. I quit playing the game for like a year after that.
Console crashes erasing my runs NGL. There's really nothing more infuriating to me than losing all my progress because of programming issues. Def a game to play on PC.
