There are thousands of people out there who are intentionally dishonest about a plethora of things. People suck. It's shitty that she wasn't straightforward from the beginning. I'd suggest altering your screening process to include the "If we accidentally got pregnant, what should we do?" scenario. Weed out those fence sitters as best as you can.

You know, there are a few reasons why sometimes I feel like I'd rather be a man, but I do have to say the major pro of being a (CF) woman is that I don't have to worry about my partner changing their mind if we accidentally get pregnant. I'm sure it's tough not to have that level control over such a life alternating event. That being said, if I was a dude, I'd also get a vasectomy. Quick and easy. The best form of defense is you taking contraception into your own hands.

You should protect yourself and have a vasectomy if you don’t want kids. It’s the only way to be sure you won’t be put in a position to lose your childfree card

If you are sure you don’t want kids, it’s time to run. I hope she finds what she’s looking for, but it’s not your problem to fulfill that.

This scenario is one of the big reasons I got a vasectomy. All fun and games until someone turns out to have lied about how badly they don’t want kids.

Now, instead, it’s like the uno reverse - “I think I’m pregnant…” Me: “I think you’re wrong, OR you’re cheating.”

 FWIW, I had a fantastic dad that really loved my mom and taught us kids important things, and that is so important, I think. It's missing from so many children's lives now due to SMBCs. Maybe I'm old fashioned or privileged but I just find it sad that so many lack that. But my mom kinda sucks so it all evens out in the universe, eh? Therapy for all!!!

I don't understand how childfree men dare to have sex with women

Do not date her. Not because she’s hiding intentions about kids or anything but because she’s stupid as fuck. OMG did I just say that? Oh yeah. She’s absolutely dumb if she is ready to be a mother in her late 30s. Maybe even a single mother at that. That is incredibly bad for her and the child which would end up being the only child and lonely throughout life because the mom will soon get a real wet blanked slapped in her face when she realizes how hard it is to raise kids.

Get snipped man, this gives you the comfort that such women won’t approach and also childfree would be more confident since it’s a guarantee that you’re serious. Although…there might be some who are only here for sex with you, so that boundary depends on you.

She never didn’t want kids. She got to the age where she accepted not having them was a real possibility and so she embraced that idea. She is childless, but she is not childfree.

This is sick and psychotic. It's why I refuse to date until I can get my tubes tied. I'm so, so sorry you had to deal with that.

why do people do this??? ive dated long-term 2 men now who claimed they didnt want kids on their profiles/in real life in MULTIPLE conversations and we even joked about it, they supported me going to the doctor to attempt to get sterilized etc, and then months later just randomly dropped that they do in fact want kids and essentially just thought that they thought i was just joking or going to change my mind. like ????? how do you not listen to that degree. and then were suddenly shocked when i ended things. its not even just about our futures no longer being compatible, its about the deceit and the inability to LISTEN to what your loved one is saying and just dismissing what they want as a joke because aLL WoMeN WaNt KiDs, iTs iN tHeiR NatUrE

Edit to add: at this point I'm taking a break from dating but when/if I date again, it will only be with men who have already had vasectomies and have proof to show me. I feel like a psycho needing to ask for proof of someone's medical procedures but they way some people lie makes me feel like I have to. but ya no dating for me for a while I think lol

I have to side with her actually. You are at least overreacting. She didn't lie or trick you. You asked whether she wanted kids, she gave her honest answer. Already being pregnant is NOT the same thing, though. And I suppose neither you, not her, had thought about that second question when you first asked her. That's not a crime. She might have even told you immediately, once she did think about that question. And all that was still before your first date. Just give her the benefit of the doubt. She was not lying.
