My friend just had her second baby girl a few weeks ago, and I’m going to see them this weekend (and meet the baby). Her older is 20 months, so she has all the basics/essentials needed for the newborn. What’s something thoughtful/useful I can bring as a gift? I’ll be getting something for the 20-month-old too, but she’s a little easier to buy for. I, obviously, don’t have kids and am clueless on babies.
Gift card for food so they can order in whenever they want. (parent of 2 young kids here and the food/gift cards were a lifesaver when my 2nd was born)
A balloon is often a hit for that age and still safe if if it bonks the newborn.
Food and coffee! Fresh fruit and pastries! Door dash gift card!! I have 3 kids and when they were small I could barely feed myself so when friends brought me food it was amazing.

I am having dinner with an old friend soon.
We were very close and spent a lot of crazy fun time together in our 20s. We are in our 40s now… good lord, how can that be?!
I am thrilled she reached out… excited to catch up and possibly rekindle, knowing that our relationship would look a whole lot different than it did when we were young, wild, and free.
The thing is… I am so nervous about it. Life has taken its toll and my self-esteem has taken a pretty extreme beating. I am working on building myself back up (and it is working slowly but surely), but I look, feel, and am just very different than the confident, outgoing, party girl she used to know. Meanwhile I get the sense that she has been thriving, still as cool and stylish and successful as ever.
I thought I would have outgrown this kind of social anxiety/fear of judgment by now, but alas here I am reverting to an awkward teenage years version of myself.
Maybe I just need someone to talk me out of finding a lame excuse to cancel.
If she's meant to be your friend, she's going love current you just as much as she did young you. People grow & circumstances change. It's OK to meet for just a catch up & not make it a regular thing. And remember: We are our own worst critic!

Any easy and simple welcome gift ideas for a new neighbor (house in the suburbs)? I think last time I did an elaborate gift basket but I’m too tired and pregnant this time 😂
My go-to new neighbor gift is a self-inking address stamp and a box of cookies from the local bakery. Always a hit!

We have a bakery near our neighborhood with really pretty pastries, seasonally decorated cookies, and cutesy to-go box packaging. Sometimes I’ll bake something myself but otherwise that’s my go-to move. There’s also a popular chocolate company local to us and their sweets are available at all the grocery stores so I’ve done that before too. Anyway even if it’s nothing fancy, I don’t think you can go wrong with a sweet treat drop off!
My go-to is a Visa gift card and put it in a nice card with local restaurant recommendations.
Just wanted to say that is a super thoughtful thing to do! We had a wonderful neighbor bring us candy, a card, and wine when we first moved here and it was just so nice of her to think of us!
Orchid from Trader Joe’s is my go to! Or a card with a door dash or grub hub gift card in it. Or just a card/note.

I can’t figure out what’s going wrong with my hair. I have really thick, long hair but it just isn’t looking right lately. I’ve had the same hair girl for 7 years and I’m starting to think it’s that she’s getting kind of lazy with doing my hair because the last few times have just not been right. Not to make excuses but she just recently had a baby and I genuinely have so much hair that people ask if I have extensions so I get that it’s a lot
I had light brown hair and was just unimpressed with the cut being a bit uneven/poofy and then I went lighter and I’m noticing that it’s very uneven and there are lines at the roots (rather than being blended). A few weeks have gone by and it’s yellow in some areas and super blonde in others (I’ve had blonde hair before and know what products to use/how to care for it). I’m thinking it was a bit uneven when I got it done but my life was so chaotic at the time that I didn’t really look
I have an appointment Thursday and am just going to give it one more shot and be very specific with what I want/my concerns with how it has been. I don’t want to go somewhere else but also hair is so expensive to not feel great in 😅
