My go-to new neighbor gift is a self-inking address stamp and a box of cookies from the local bakery. Always a hit!

Thank you for this! Never thought of adding creamer!

Do you feel like Skims bras run true to size? I read several reviews that said they fit very small, so I wondered if I need to size up. I am looking at the Teardrop Push-Up and the T-Shirt bra.

I love the Hairitage dry shampoo in the purple can. I have dark hair, so I spray it on at night, brush it through, and go to bed. I don't have any white residue if I do it this way. (And hardly any if I have to use it through the day.)

A keyboard wrist rest, padded mouse pad, and an ergonomic mouse!

I have a Pavoi necklace that I bought in the fall. I wear it just about every day (still looks great) and it looks so much more expensive than the 12 bucks it actually cost.

I always look forward to these posts! My current favorites are (in no particular order): Poppi prebiotic soda, EOS Vanilla Cashmere lotion, Target's Fine'ry brand Without a Trace fragrance, Wernies no show socks from Amazon, and the 'On Brand with Jon and Marisa' podcast.

I started using the Dashing Diva nail strips this year. I get them at Target, Walmart, and even Dollar General. They are usually between $5 to $8 depending on where you get them. I use the ones that don't require a light to set them. I've found that the glitter strips work best for me- I am pretty tough on my nails and the strips usually last about 2-3 weeks for me. They also come off really easily when you are ready to take them off without damaging my nails. (I just use regular nail polish remover.)

This feels like kind of a random place to ask, but I've Googled and asked around IRL with not-so-much luck. What type of place is considered a reputable place to get first time Botox? Is The Skin Center a "real" cosmetic procedure place or should I be looking for an actual medical doctor? I don't have a dermatologist, and my PCP said I'm "a little young" to be thinking of Botox. (Ma'am, I am nearly 40. Please.) I don't want to go to a waxing salon or dental office that offers cosmetic skin services that could paralyze my entire face. Suggestions welcome! Thank you in advance!

That salt scent! I have the room spray and I'm obsessed with it. It is the perfect scent. I want them to come out with a body fragrance version lol.

Yes to personalized stamps for housewarming gifts! Someone gave us one when we moved and I thought that was just such a lovely idea.

She has a podcast too. Some of her suggestions feel like common sense, but really do take a ton of guess work out of so many situations.

Omg I do this too! I always write "Congrats on taking the plunge!" on the card. I find it absolutely hilarious each and every time.

Things are about to completely fall apart, and I can't wait!

Thank you. I DNF'ed Happy Place about 25% into it. What kind of plot even is that? "We broke up but we can't tell anyone bc it will absolutely ruin this beautiful house for them!" Yuck.

Yes to a Simmer Pot! I boil water with sprigs of rosemary, sliced lemons, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, and a splash of vanilla when I want my house to smell good. You can even put it in a crockpot and let it run all day.

Oh- so fun! I'd recommend the Highline, The 9/11 Museum, 5th Avenue, Central Park (you could literally make an entire day out of just Central Park), Rockefeller Plaza, & Chelsea Market. I've stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Eventi and the Park Central Hotel for work trips and both of those were lovely and perfect for walking/public transit. If you're into history at all, there's a pub called Fraunce's Tavern where George Washington gave his farewell address, and of course Alexander Hamilton's grave at Trinity Church.

I see your point. To clarify-- I left off my undergrad and grad school dates, but have included month/year for recent work (the past 5-ish years) before that though, no dates just company/title/role description. I explained my experience during my interview. And I got the job, so it worked for me.

Opinions needed: The team I manage at work has had a pretty awful year so far. Layoffs, higher than average workloads, no raises--all the usual morale-killers. We all work from home and are in the middle of our biggest project of the year. I'd like to send them each something like a little "we'll get through this!" care package. Nothing crazy. Maybe some snacks and a Starbucks card with a note of appreciation? I know it won't fix all of our issues, but I want them to know that I care and appreciate them (even if the company as a whole seems to not GAF.) Gifts are 100% my love language, but I worry it could come across as odd or trying to... I dunno-- buy them off or something? It's a small team. Shipping would be the most expensive part. Would you think it was weird if your manager sent something like that to you? (Asking here bc one person IRL told me this is unnecessary because that's what a paycheck is for. Don Draper vibes, iykyk.) My other thought is to just send digital Starbucks cards via email. I am overthinking this ENTIRELY too much. Help.

Yes. I swear half the pills I get are placebos. Some days it works just fine, and other days, I have to check my pillbox to make sure I actually took it because it feels like nothing. I asked my pharmacy to only give me the Teva brand (this brand works the best for me so far), but the shortage has been wild. There was just a NYT article on this exact topic recently, actually! You are not alone.

Hello fellow elder. Lol. I was in this boat recently as well. It feels like so much damn work. Pulling together a portfolio has been excruciating. As a heads up, I was told by a friend who is a recruiter not to list any years on my resume (graduation dates, time spent at a company or in a specific role etc.) I am ancient but now nobody knows.

I use it for everything! It planned an upcoming trip itinerary (broken out by days/areas of the city) and suggested restaurants/sites to visit. (Not going to follow it 100%, but it was a very helpful starting point!) I've also used it to write both a letter of resignation and a cover letter. Meal plans, Poshmark listing descriptions, work meeting outlines, so much! Tik tok is brimming with Chat GPT ideas.

Procreate is a great drawing/illustration app, especially if you have the Apple pencil. There are tons of great classes and tutorials out there for it too.

Okay hear me out: Walmart. I got an adorable pair of olive green overalls for 17 bucks. They're a denim-y fabric and I can not wait until it's warm enough here to wear them. They also had a blue denim that was very cute. For $17, I might get both. (Juniors sizing but I think they run pretty TTS. I bought my normal pant size.)
