LOL I didn’t know what an Aztek looked like but now that I’ve looked it up… I agree.

I was confused but in the best way.

In my area only 1 daycare declined to give a cost upfront when asked directly so we skipped the tour. If you’re still looking, see if Wonderschool or Kinside has listings in your area, they usually are transparent about costs. Local mom/parent online groups are also good for recommendations though I never had to ask the parents about pricing.

Two of my kids’ daycare/preschools use Procare. Good for messaging, photo posting, as well as sign in/out.

oh don’t mind me, I follow her at all so I’m just snarking to snark

Imagine your friend recently got announced as a Super Bowl correspondent for Tubi (owned by Fox Corp), and you get to say, I’ve got news, too - I’m joining Turning Point!

One of my friends posts a photo of her grandfather who served in WWII but lived until the 1990s.

I had a panel interview on Thursday and didn’t bomb it. I actually feel pretty good about it but of course don’t know if the next round is guaranteed. Still, feels good after being either ghosted or rejected.

this inadvertently supports universal income for moms to stay at home, right? ;)

Hi, I’m new to pottery. How much clay did you start with?

I actually think this is a great idea, OP! For most of the story I was assuming the management was prioritizing people with kids but you also are a parent! Don’t let yourself be taken advantage of.

(Not saying only parents should get flexibility/priority for scheduling, only acknowledging that some work cultures inadvertently do this.)

I forget his name but we met him and his dog at one of the music events in Twin Pines. Definitely thought of him when I saw this post

I’m sorry, that’s a bummer, but now you’ll be free to find someone better?

ok well that is the perfect dad response 🤣

We buy a 2-3 premade things a week and add in homemade stuff to make a meal.

At the supermarket, I found a premade grilled fish in the meat & fish section. My husband warmed that up and made glass noodles with bok choy, mushrooms, and garlic.

If you have a Trader Joe’s, they have frozen pastas that you just warm up on the stove. We like the garlic umami noodles, cheese filled fiochetti with pink sauce, and the gnocchis. We’ll make chicken wings in the air fryer as the protein. TJ’s also has lasagna both in the frozen and refrigerated sections.

With this situation I would go back to work and get more out of your degree and work experience, knowing that I could step away again later on when the kids are older (& parenting is less physically draining). Save and invest the extra disposable income I’d be bringing in, and worst case I’d have extra cushion in case you dissolve your marriage, best case I’ll have even more to contribute to the kids’ education and family’s lifestyle.

I have friends who are either such homebodies or hate the logistics involved that they just don’t think of taking their kids to children’s museums or whatnot. My parents would always say we had tons of toys & a big backyard and we didn’t need to go out to have fun.

They might have an HOA pool or be part of a swim club? Or a friend’s place that they hang out at often. I would love friends with pools haha, more fun and less maintenance.

If your kid “earns money” even babysitting money they can have a Roth.

Lost mine earlier this year. Take the time to grieve and process. It’s not you, it’s them (& the industry).

I know people in this area who have gotten to know her and are never featured on her IG. As personal as her IG looks it’s not her (or any other IG personality’s) complete picture.
