When you consider the current Pirates in context of their last 30 years, I think they are still a little embarrassing. They've had like two good years since Bonds left. And Skenes might be great, but they had Gerrit Cole before so I think they need more organizational change to be optimistic about one great pitcher. It's a shame because they have such history as a franchise and they have the most beautiful ballpark in baseball (and I go to Camden Yards so I know).
Last year in the final press conference of the season John Sherman (the owner) had the most “fuck all this shit” tone I’ve ever seen a owner have and it looks like he meant it.
Probably not a coincidence that this has been the best season in almost 10 years that the Royals have had and at the exact time ownership is trying to get a new stadium vote passed.
Yeah I knew in a general sense that y'all were crap last year and doing quite well this year, and I watched a handful of your games this year and last year, so I saw the difference for myself. But I still didn't realize how extreme the improvement has been. Enjoy the ride!

2024 Yankees are on a bit of a skid right now. Still good enough to be tied for the division (kinda, 1 more W and L than Baltimore) but not the commanding lead from a few weeks ago.
The 2023 Yankees got off to a good start and would have been at the start of their collapse at this point in the season. I think that Judge went down and Rizzo got concussed both in mid-June.
It seems so much worse for the Cubs this year because of our expectations but I’m surprised it’s about the same as last year. It was about this time we went on a heater and put ourselves in the buying conversation at the deadline. Curious to see if they run that back
