Your ginseng print has the weirdest straight supports.
What you're describing will be based on your slicer settings. In Cura, you'd go to the support section of the print settings and click the config icon to show hidden settings then set a bunch of them visible and play around with them.
You might get what you want by enabling and setting "Minimum Support x/y distance" which pushes the support tower out but you might need to tweak a lot of other related settings to get it to work just right.
Hours and days of tweaking support settings might be less trouble than a few minutes of careful work with good quality snippers though.
