In contrast with all of the dour imperial soldiers, officers, inquisitors and the like, this guy is such a breath of fresh air. He has a certain roguish charm and approachability, mixed with ruthless efficiency and hidden depth.
A really refreshing Star Wars antagonist.
I think Disney-era live action Star Wars has been “miss” more than “hit” but Acolyte might be my favorite thing so far outside of Rogue One and Andor.
Yeah, it’s got it’s fair share of silliness but for the most part the story is engaging and poses some interesting questions about the established Star Wars universe and mythology - in a vaguely similar way to how Andor did.
Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka by comparison felt rushed and poorly thought out, and didn’t have much to say about anything at all.
So far, the poor fan reaction to the Acolyte seems unwarranted.
I just realised it’s taken from the Tao Te Ching and it’s been changed slightly in the show.
“The Eternal Tao produces one. One produces two. Two produce three. Three produce all things”
The Stranger installed safety railings outside the entrance to his cave because he knew he’d be receiving a visit from OSHA.
… I’ll see myself out.
I really hope Osha becomes a true dark side user. I’ve been waiting for a female darksider for so long. I want to see more of what it’s like to “fall”, to see someone become darker and stronger and to see the reasons why and the conflict within. I want them to explore the darkside more.
I can't recall any references to it. I don't thinj they were continuously concerned of Jedis lurking in the forest, that would be ridiculous. I don't see it mentioned in all the theories of what happened on Brendok but it would seed weird to suddenly drop that cue.
I’ll admit the first two episodes I was struggling with it, mainly because I was so excited about Carrie-Ann Moss as a Jedi, only for her to be slain in the first scene.
But after ep. 3 it really hooked me in. I think it’s a great and novel story for Star Wars!
I’d like to share my theory of what happened on Brendok and why. It’s a long one though!

Thanks for reading if you came this far! Curious to know what you think!
This show has actually grown on me, I’ve seen the first two episodes so far, and it’s pretty damn good in my opinion. Plus Lee Jae-Jung as Master Sol is amazing.
Edit:The second I heard “Peace is a lie.” I was extra sold lmao.
The one for episode 5 is still pinned on top. Are the mods asleep, or what?
