What are some players that are quiet and reserved, yet let their skills speak for themselves?
Every good spurs player of the last couple decades really
Outside of Rodman, that's pretty true.
Rodman wasn't a spur he just ended up there.
That is the difference?
He wasn't brought up through the Spurs culture and system. All of the guys that were day 1 Spurs and became superstars were all very similar, and you can see it was a result of their system. Dennis came up as a bad boy from Detroit. He wasn't really a Spur. He just had a short layover there.

Inside of Rodman, it's too dark to read.
This is weird to say as a Spurs fan, but also Ray Allen
Yep. Never spoke up during their beef with the rest of the Celtics. Never really talked trash to anyone that I can recall.
Just did his job
I remember reading how other teams said the 2013 and 2014 spurs were always the quietest teams they would play and it creeped some players out. They'd get dominated and they were still just quiet, no trash talk or gloating, just hooping silently and deadly.
Weapon X!!!
Just going to work and going home
Refreshing that there are some players that behave like adults and just do their jobs. Unless you win a title…all the dancing/celebrating etc is so immature to me
the Tim Duncan affect
Manu was passionate in his oncourt demeanor, or am I only remembering certain moments and making them to be more frequent in my recall. Man, he was such a joy to watch.
3 spurs including LA in the picture hahaha, something about San Antonio
I’d put David Robinson in that category, too. Not as introverted as TD or Kawhi, but he was reserved.
"But he was reserved" is a bar tbh lol
It's looking like Stephon Castle is also built from that mold
The Buffalo D White
I know he never played with Tim but Derrick was the last real product of the Duncan-era Spurs System.
was he coached by him?
Technically yeah I think
I think Jokic?
jokic doesnt even like basketball lmao
No, he likes basketball. He hates the media.
im referring to when he won the chip then said “nobody likes his job, or maybe they do, theyre lying”
Even then, he can dislike the 9 to 5 aspect of the NBA and all the job politics, but still love the sport of basketball
Yeah I love science but working sucks regardless haha
I feel like he's said many times his passion isn't basketball, it's horses.
I mean, he can be passionate about horses as a hobby but still love basketball. I have many things I’m passionate about while he probably likes more than basketball that doesn’t mean he hates basketball
He probably enjoys playing basketball, but I am not sure he is a basketball fan in the way that Lebron or KD likes basketball. I don't picture Jokic watching league pass on his free time or just watching any game on his free time.
thats complete bullshit, if he didnt like basketball he'd retire by now. he has boatloads of money anyway, he just hates the media
i didnt say he hated it, just that he doesnt have that love for the game
Well I quoted you saying that he didn't like playing basketball. I don't think that you win NBA MVPs not loving the game
Jokic literally just did x2..
He's outright said, "I love basketball," this stupid narrative that the NBA MVP doesn't like basketball needs to die lmao
X3
He definitely has love for the game. 1. He’s said it. 2. It’s all but impossible that you’re that good at something, do it for a living, train extremely hard, and love winning but don’t love what you do.
It's his job, and he likes his job. He just likes being off the clock more.
He is always bitching at the refs
Hear me out on this. Rudy Gay.
Watched him in college. Then the NBA. He recently had a pod with Carmelo Anthony and was surprised by how many comments were “ohh, so this is how he sounds”.
Very low tone and demeanor.
Derrick rose before he got hurt
the all-star intro dancing, the bulls game winner non-expression
Omg I was just thinking about that all-star intro. That was funny asf
If only he had indestructible legs
Brandon Roy, it's a shame his career wasn't longer.
Bless those knees. Blazers had a squad.

rondo
My favorite Rondo moment is when he grabs the ball after a made free throw, rubs his sweaty face all over the ball and then hands it back to Draymond Green for his second free throw. So gross but an amazing level of trolling.
Not even lol
Luka
Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard come to mind
