for myself it’s the body load for mushrooms and how easily the trip can divert to emotional stuff, whereas for LSD i’m so easily distracted and euphoric I can’t really focus on personal stuff. also I find music and sex far better on acid than mushrooms. the nausea shrooms give me and my partner kinda put us out of action the whole time lol.

Lsd keeps the sense of me within a mental arms reach at all times, I have the steering wheel although I can gently let go. Psilocybin takes me wherever it wants, my sense of self is way out in the distance.
Yea Shrooms one time made me and my gf forget who we were it was weird but also funny because of how insane it was. It's like all my thoughts and beliefs were just gone and I was just here, I also had this feeling of like relating and being connected to people it was strange.

I'm one of those people who "trust the mushroom", so I get quite relaxed in the passenger seat. Whereas with LSD the thought of "omg what do I do now" causes me distress, because I don't fucking know how or where to drive.

Yes I think a lot of anxiety is loss of control and unreasonable fear. 4 aco is harder than lsd to access a continuous stream of logic to say something like " it is just the medication and I will be fine soon" 4aco for me does thought loops at a least for a while every dose wherein logic can't remain present. On LSD there is always a very brief 10 ish minute component that feels very stimulanty and racing thoughts that I could see causing anxiety, but very easy to just watch that part of the mind stream move kind of fast while applying reason to it. Of course relative doses of each is always a consideration.

Acid stimulates me a lot more than shrooms and I find it a lot harder to sleep after. Shrooms have a softer landing.

yes this 1000 times. when i took acid the first time (and too damn much 🤦🏾) it was so goddamn geometric and METAL to me. industrial like feeling. very crazy to see shapes and fractals while being awake the comedown was rough but decent once i finally fell asleep. but shrooms are sooo much better, smoother visuals and comedown. i will choose those over acid any day 🫠

IT all gets better when your older man. I'm not super old at 47, but drugs I did too much of when I was younger are way better now in my late 40s, Acid and Shrooms have way more to them than you get when your in your in your 16-25 stage of life.
And then there's all the other wonderful substances that just weren't available when I was younger in my circles at least, including DMT, MDA, MDMA, 2CB, mescaline aside from the elusive peyote back in the day and all the analogs now available. Everything is just so much more available, or find these days. OH and then there is Ketamine, a wonderful substance which needs the respect that comes with age, I would have gone too far into the K-hole if I had gotten into K when I was in my late teens and 20s. But being older now I find its a great reset and exploration which allowed me to actually see more of life's puzzle than I thought at the time.

Lsd is damn near a stimulant. Especially with high doses (up to a point lol) you're not allowed to look away. It's also soooooo much more visually intense. I mean 350-400ug of lsd just doesn't have an equivalent with mushies. Mushies will make you so tired. When the terror ends on like 10g of mushies, I'm just gone. I've dissolved into consciousness, and I'll stay that way til my brain can make sentences again lol.

Haha that's a fun way to put it. I think I kinda agree, from what I remember when my brain wasn't so familiar with visuals.
So, when I first started tripping at 17 and 18, mushrooms provided my first real visuals. It's crazy, 12/13 years later I can remember them so vividly. My first ever visual hallucination was sitting in the grass at Coachella 2011 waiting in anxious but overconfident anticipation for the trip to start. Suddenly, the grass started waiving as if the wind were blowing through it. I kinda looked around like "woah did anybody else see that?? " Nope, nobody did. Then I pulled out my razor flip-phone to see if my gf had contacted me because I was waiting there for her, and the numbers lifted up off the keypad and moved around. As we all do at first, I had a hard time telling the difference between what was real and what wasn't. I proceeded to have the first drug experience of my life that taught me maybe, just maybe, I'm not invincible and more drugs isn't always better lol. Then, at UCSC, I had my first full 8th. Buddy gave a light-show and I watched a tracer slow-burn leaving almost gray ash in its wake. Then I tried to show someone a fractal pattern on the floor 😂.
So yeah! It was hard to distinguish those visuals from reality!
Then, with LSD, I didn't really have too many "low-dose" experiences before I went hard. I remember my first REAL 100ug experience and the mental state was ROUGH but visuals were manageable. Just crazy vibrant colors and HEAVY wall-breathing. It was easier to intellectualize that wall-breathing wasn't real you know?
But then, once I got into 200ug and above, the "grid" as I've seen people call the effect recently became very apparent. It's this kinda hexagonal "chainlink fence" hallucination that "overlays" w.e I'm looking at. At first, I'd try to focus in on one of the boxes or units to see what was happening in it, but you can't. Especially as you take doses higher, it becomes clear that the grid is gonna do what the grid is gonna do. It really has nothing to do with w.e you're looking at. Around that dose is when you learn that, while "outside" has always been the supplier of the most interesting visual stimuli, here, "inside" is where it's at, and you learn to just close your fucking eyes. Once you settle into that state and learn to watch passively, mother of God there's nothing better in the world. Patterns and colors and fractals you couldn't have imagined in your wildest dreams. And an infinite sea of them.
On high doses of mushrooms, actually with these lil "Bluey Vuitton" Fuckers I've been trying recently in particular, they're so high in psilocin that the visuals are electric and DMT-like in a very interesting way that kinda combines the two experiences.

I never cared for LSD much until I started putting aside a good 2-3 days for the experience. Redosing once or twice makes me feel like I have enough time to really "figure out" what the trip is trying to tell me. Probably not ideal for a new/infrequent user but psychedelics are a regular part of my spiritual/therapeutic practice. I make sure to keep myself hydrated & have lots of fruit/veg/sensory-friendly-but-nutritious snack options. Resting intermittently (even if I can't sleep) and getting a long rest at the end of the experience has left me hangover-free. It's one of my favorites now.
I can micro LSD and have it treat my ADHD like a stimulant would but better, and in regular doses I feel like a god 😅🌀but like in the sense I feel extremely connected with my soul and higher power, but also I think I can dance and shit when I know I can’t so there’s that too. 80-250ug is what I’ve done so far but I smoke weed so I haven’t sober tripped in a while hence not surpassing 250ug anyway… the trip itself is pretty easy to navigate. You can flip a bad trip into a good one quickly ime.
On the trauma work side of things, cause that’s primarily what I’m using psychedelics for these days, I can talk to my traumatized parts of myself in a way that’s created real and lasting change. That’s true with mushrooms as well, but in a different way. Mushrooms i am forced to address whatever trauma is that comes up, like I don’t have much choice in the matter like I can set my intention to work on a certain memory but other ones often come up first that I didn’t even know existed then the ones I wanted to remember will follow days later. Once I accept the need to address the memory that’s come up, I can navigate it similar to how I would on lsd. It’s cool shit.
Oh and length of the trips being different… lsd is a 12ish hour commitment shrooms more like 6ish. I freeze my ass on the come up on shrooms too, less with lsd but still some.

I only did shrooms twice. On the other hand, I did acid too many times. As the others said, acid is stimulant while shrooms are sedative. I’ve also noticed that acid gives you more headspace, a strong one. Visuals on acid are slightly stronger, and different. Shrooms have more body load and stronger physical sensations. The “Tripping” inside your head is more powerful and clearer on shrooms. This is my subjective opinion based on doing shrooms two times. I could be wrong. For those who have better experience with shrooms, please give your opinions about my opinion 😆
For me LSD has a far superior body load to shrooms, but shrooms give me more of a mood lift and mental euphoria. During the LSD peak, I can't help but writhe around on the ground or my bed while feeling overwhelming bodily sensations. The physical euphoria can be so distracting that I don't even care to pay attention to the visuals or any thoughts I'm having, as I'm too busy birthing star systems inside my body. With shrooms I can very easily forget that I even have a body as I become lost in my headspace, giggling like a school girl after her crush said hi to her in the hallway.
Acid is just way better. I’ve always thought acid is the most subjective experience ever, you can steer the trip around so easily. Shrooms force you to sit through the experience like they have some sort of agenda and I don’t like being told what to do man.
Acid lights brain up like xmas tree. Whereas shrooms open a direct pathway between your brains processing and your subconscious. So it is a more personal tailored experience

Yeah but the trade-off is that the shrooms can take you MUCH deeper. They'll show you some truly mind-blowing insights that would never otherwise be accessible to you without like meditating deeply in a cave for decades lol. The “surrender” aspect of shrooms can be very difficult to handle sometimes, but my God it can yield the most astonishing and profound insights. I've had deep moments on LSD, but nothing even approaching my heaviest mushroom experiences, whole different ballgame.

Idk, maybe it can vary due to individual psychology and metabolism and biology, but acid just always feels way more cerebral for me, while psilocybin feels more emotional and spiritual. It’s for this reason that I think acid is more manageable, whereas psilocybin can feel like I’m REALLY in over my head sometimes.

Must be a personal preference. I find shrooms drive me outside to get rid of the body load, and acid just makes everything I have in the house have multiple dimensions to it. Also, it's fun to mentally explore acid like a cosmonaut
With LSD I'd see fractals and sparkles. The bathmat pile was dancing together, moving together. It's just stuff that exists moving in ways, or it's like when there's rainbows from a gasoline spill overlaid on real life in ways
Whereas with mushrooms, I'd see things that weren't there. My friend had three mouths. My friend's face melted off in front of me and I could see her skull talking. The clouds became kind of like skeleton ghost people in the sky.

Psilocybin isn't the only active compound in mushrooms. Do some research.
A natalensis trip feels more like acid than it does cubensis. You can do 1 minute of research and find this out.
With L I could run a marathon and the peak is like a dream. Shrooms are too sedating and leave me in a bit of a mess towards the tail end. Although I do find the CEVs much better on mushrooms.
For me, LSD is more speedy. I feel stimulated. Almost as if I took a stimulant but there is the aspect of tripping involved in an acid experience. Mushrooms are much more chill. In fact, I’ve found myself yawning a lot when dosing mushrooms. Almost every time. Not that it makes me sleepy (although I could definitely go to sleep) but I’m much more relaxed. Acid has me very aware.
I always yawn on both but yawning on mushrooms is normal I think, last time I did acid I kept yawning as well but then eventually it just stopped,with mushrooms the yawning last longer and are more intense,where you can almost get a surge or a small buzz from every big yawn lol,never realy understood why the yawns happen but it does seem to happen on both for me.
Probably the most iconic trait is LSD typically has a wave-like effect where you have several small peaks leading up to the largest peak while shrooms has one gradual buildup to a single peak.
The shrooms won't let you get distracted as easily, as you say. It's like mother nature is there with you at face value, she's ringing the door and you have to answer 🍄
LSD, after the come up at least, always felt more comfortable for me. It’s energizing, it opens your mind up for more room to think. Digital is a good word to describe it for me. It makes me feel as though I am taking in way more information and I can understand how this abundance of data is coming in through my senses for my brain to process and for me to use, like a computer. It helped me feel in-tune with myself. Mushrooms on the other hand, I have to tread more lightly, they’re like a mental journey. They can easily be overwhelming, and has way more body load. Sometimes overwhelming nausea can be pretty rough at the start and once it passes everything just feels “heavy” for the rest of the trip. The mental space feels like a mixture of fluids that never combine, and you are floating within this turbulent soup of consciousness. If LSD is digital, mushrooms are like painting over a painting by candle light.

A lot of the other differences people claim between the substances I find to be exaggerated generalities. There's mostly overlap in terms of the visual effects other than LSD being generally more geometric and shrooms being more organic and flowy.
Also I find the claim that mushrooms are "more spiritual" usually followed by the reasoning that it's because they're "natural" to be hogwash. Both take you to the same place with a different emphasis between emotion and reason. A good way to look at it are the archetypes of masculine (LSD) vs feminine (mushrooms).
I think saying that lsd is masculine etc is way too personal. It's subjective. For me it's the opposite- the shroom is like and old stern teacher (male). And lsd is full of light, divine, feminine energy. But in general i think it's nonsensical to attribute any sex to psychedelics.
Masculine and feminine in the sense of Jungian archetypes. You can also look at it in the sense of yin and yang if you want to take the whole sex/gender confusion away from it.
Anyway, of course these general archetypes are subjective. It should be noted though that psychedelics have a long history of being seen in terms of masculine and feminine archetypes. Traditionally Ayahuasca is seen as feminine and even manifests a feminine entity "mother Aya" whereas mescaline is considered masculine by the indigenous people who used it traditionally and the plant is referred to as a "father". LSD is definitely closer to mescaline and mushrooms are definitely closer to Aya/DMT.

I’ve been eating both mushrooms and LSD for 15 years and the main difference IMO (visually) is mushrooms have more detailed visuals, kind of like DMT with very structurally sound and geometric visuals compared to LSD, which has more of a liquid, color shifting vibe.

LSD makes you more interested in the things around you compared to shrooms. You're less likely to be thinking about personal things on LSD because you'll be too distracted by what's going on in the present moment. It is very stimulating, so you'll feel more encouraged to walk around and do something. When people say acid is more digital or electric, they're mainly referring to the visuals. The open eyed visuals are much more vivid and rigid. The physical feeling pretty much just feels like you're on some sort of stimulant.

On lsd I find myself way more comfortable exploring my thoughts, shrooms is more like walking on egg shells that may also be landmines. I've probably had better experiences finding answers to inner issues on shrooms though, lsd just exacerbates my add to the point focusing on anything for more than two minutes is impossible. Shrooms for inner conflict/ chilling, lsd for social settings (for me anyway)
According to my experience they are very different drugs. The biggest different trait for me is that LSD makes you really break through the apparence of reality. It is an overwhelming experience. Shrooms for me are more calm, serene and tiring. I like them both but LSD it's deeply more powerful, at least according to my experience.

For me acid is very predictable. It feels like I took something that came from a test tube. I often get that get up and go for a walk urge.
Mushrooms may have certain traits that are typical but trip content is impossible for me to predict, I feel a presence with me, it has personality, soul.

Shrooms is more personal and you think more about yourself and your own life whereas lsd you feel connected with everything in the universe and think more about others and the world around you also it’s easier to go into a bad trip with shrooms then lsd as I’ve only had a bad trip on shrooms and never had one on lsd and I’ve had to calm people down that were freaking out on lsd while I was tripping balls and i still didn’t have a bad trip lol

With acid, you trip out. With shrooms, you trip in.
Lsd is a doing drug. Shrooms is a thinking drug. If you know what I’m saying you know.

Shrooms make you have life-changing experiences acid can also do that but you're probably just gonna freak out and have fun

I once spoke to a therapist and she said that for her, LSD is digital and psilocybine is analog. It just makes some weird sense to me.

I see acid as having to go with the flow of the river even if it's through rapids and shrooms is you sinking but also floating in that river.
Length, and that's pretty much it. Psychedelics are so heavily influenced by dose, set, and setting that any differences presented by it being a different substance would be negligible, except for length, mushrooms are always 4-6 hours and acid is always 8-12+ hours.

Acid has a gradual and steady high. Start low, get high af, come down like an airplane. Shrooms are a roller coaster, up and down, then up and down again.
Main thing ive noticed for me at least is that the boomers have much more intense waves than the acid. When im hitting a wave on shrooms its sometimes a little much, but thats not the case on acid
Price-to-high ratio. Shrooms take me about $40 to get me high for like 4-6 hours. $10 worth of acid will have me high for 8-12 hours.
Mushrooms is like taking a roller coaster, hop on and it’ll take you where it wants. Acid is like driving a car for the most part you can control where you’re going.

Nausea can be mitigated with tea.
But still it’s the same for me, mushrooms have way more body load than acid and acid makes me awake a lot more.
Still, there is the right time and place for acid and there is the right time and place for shrooms. I sometimes like the very introspective trips shrooms cause.
I like to think acid is more or less just the hallucinations as where shrooms are more of a full trip.
In terms of headspace’s on acid I find the beauty in outer things like music videos, art, concerts, towns, cities, people. On shrooms I see the beauty in life, people, spirit, aura, nature, myself. I think they’re very different I really dont think they should be compared all that much, they both have there benefits in different ways.
I think the biggest trait that differentiates LSD and mushrooms is the fact that LSD is a crystalline compound synthesized in a laboratory and mushrooms occur naturally outdoors on feces :)

Mushrooms kinda make me feel more connected with the world around me, while lsd makes me feel more connected to myself in a way. Mushrooms are playful and loving while acid is crazy analytical and introspective

They are almost identical. Acid is just stronger. Visuals differ ever so slightly, but at high doses on both they are indistinguishable. Only the length of the trips is a determining factor as acid lasts longer than shrooms. Blind tests have been done and proven that people can’t tell the difference when blindly dosed. I’m sure I can find the article someone linked me about it awhile ago if anyone is curious.

I don't know if this will make sense, but I don't know how else to put it, so here goes. Mushrooms, for me, are usually a pretty consistent experience. The intensity varies, but the vibe is the pretty much the same. Lsd has a mood and a color to go with it. I'll see a redish tone for a while then the mood shifts and I see a blue tone, and the feeling changes. I'll feel this shift randomly throughout the trip.
