I've been thinking (specially with today's episode) if she's going to face the sith and be killed :(
I'm worried for Vernestra in The Acolyte
SpoilerFr it's so depressing, just finished Defy the Storm and then Temptation of the Force and then come watch Episode 4 and see her acting like Mace Windu smh
What? Mace Windu is good
I think they meant he was very set in his ways and didn’t have an open mind. Along those lines, not to put words in anyone’s mouth.
I disagree with that. We are talking about someone that was willing to talk battle droids into surrendering, was pretty nice to Jar Jar and also cared about the clones
Lol if you really think that then you didn’t pay attention to the prequels or TCW. Anakin was on mace’s shit list since day 1 and mace constantly doubts him/ outright says that he thinks training Anakin is a bad idea and waste of time. Yes Anakin’s actions are his on and it’s not mace’s fault that Anakin fell, but he absolutely could’ve been kinder to a slave child and tried to help him instead of what he did.
Mace Windu is no worse than any of the council members. Obi Wan was worse to Anakin than him
Lol yeah okay, wanna list some examples?
Obi Wan called Jar Jar and Anakin a "pathetic lifeform".
Mace Windu may have beena little cold to Anakin in their first meeting but he didn't specifically may have any vendetta against him. He was rightfully cautious with the decision to train Anakin and the rest of the council had the same idea.
Filoni seem hellbent on making Mace Windu appear like a jerk in recent media but throughout most of early clone wars he and Anakin had a friendly relationship, example the episode with kid Boba Fett.
He had little to do with Anakin's fall to the dark side the most valid argument you can make is that he didn't follow up with freeing Anakin's mother but then again that was a collective failing of the Jedi system
That’s 1 example when obi won was a young Jedi padawan (he was like 22 at the time) before he had his “time to grow up” moment when qui gon died.
Mace is almost always in opposition to Anakin in any scenes they have together. He never really gave him a chance even though he was incredibly strong in the force and would’ve been dangerous to just leave to his own devices at 9 years old. Mace is a douche lol
Or is he responsible for Anakin’s fall by treating him like shit since the day he met him? I’m not sure I believe it, at least not fully, but if you just watch the films with that in mind he definitely feels like an antagonist.
Mace Windu never treated Anakin like shit lol. He has no one to blame but himself.
I don't know where people got this idea that Mace Windu was an asshole. Stop watching star wars theory or reading Youtube comments
Had no idea it was a prevailing thought. Have never and would never watch that trash. I like the character. This is not a high republic topic, let’s leave it be.
Blaming Mace for Anakin's fall has the same energy of blaming school shooting victims bc they may have bullied the shooter..
My guess is that it's Sol who's gonna bite it, not her. Something I really, really like about this series so far is Sol's conflict between trying to do the right thing and attempting to save face. My prediction is that Sol will get killed by Darth Teeth before he can reveal the truth to Osha, and the Sith Lord will use that information against her.
The order is in short supply of Jedi with Sol's level of compassion, and it'll be a heavy blow to those that knew him. We're to believe that this is the beginning of the end for the Jedi Order, and the death of good men like Sol will speed that along. At this stage, Vernestra is portrayed as someone deeply concerned with preserving the image of the Order, someone who is dedicated to the political aspect of the Jedi. My thought is that she'll survive this series, but cover up the existence of Darth Teeth and the Sith.
Darth Maw
I can’t with Darth Teeth 💀😂😂 lmao
I saw a comment earlier where they called him Smilo Ren, and I just about lost it!
Imagine a 16 or 17 year old becoming a Knight. What does that take? Someone really conservative. It's no surprise, Vernestra is like this.
Vern isn’t conservative RE the Order when she graduates. She becomes a Wayseeker!
He is for sure going to die since he will "tell her" on the ship.
I hope not, I like Vern
"It's VERNESTRA" - Vern
I like that even in the show everyone says her full name.
I just want Yoda to turn up and call her Vern, for no real reason other than I want somebody to call her Vern and he is the only one likely to do it
I'd love to see someone calling her Vern just to get her reaction
116 year old Vernestra Rwoh: in exasperation “please just call me Vernestra for the love of the Force!”
I'll cry if it happens
Yeesh, she's been a real block head throughout this series. I feel like she hasn't been making the right calls. But then she talks to Sol and eventually comes around
Is Vernestra not allowed to be traumatized by facing the Nihil threat at a very young age (even if she was already knighted at the time). I imagine with the hundreds of years between Phase 3 and Acolyte you would change a little in your philosophy.
The Vernestra thats in Acolyte doesn't seem all dissimilar to the Vernestra who put Elzar Mann to the coals at the end of Defy the Storm bc it was the right thing to hold him accountable.
At least it's confirmed she's not the Sith who trained Mae
How?
Well for one... These aren't her hands:
Those don't look like Qimir's hands either. His skin looks people, unless that's just the lighting.
could also be mud, like he made himself dirty
The regular skin could be makeup too, like a disguise.
I watched it again. Definitely purple skin and he's buff as hell.
Could a Bith hard fit in there?
I doubt it
It could be anyone who is light skinned, that eliminates Mother, Tall Female Yoda, and several others. They are average height and build, no its not that chonk from the first episode, not the Beaver Dog. My money is on Q.
Tall Female Yoda
But it doesn't eliminate two tall female yodas stacked ontop of one another
Star Wars Hunters DID introduce a character that is two of the same species standing on top of each other in a trench coat
If they killed her off…I’m going to be very annoyed.
I don't like the way Vernestra is being depicted in the Acolyte. I know that she is about a century older in the Acolyte, but the HR character and Acolyte character are the same in name only.
The Acolyte version has no personality, plus I can't see the HR Vernestra masterminding a cover up to save face. A lot can happen in a century, but it's a sad end for the character.
I think that's the problem with putting her in the Acolyte before phase 3 finishes. clearly something changed her and probably the Jedi order. She also keeps mentioning their political enemies and this is about the time where the trade federation and other corporations were expanding their influence in the Senate.
I'm not full of optimism for her fate.
Vernestra is not a good character in the show. Like I don’t even care if she dies anymore.
She probably deserves to face the consequences of her actions. She's turning into one of the most tragic figures in the fall of the Jedi Order.
