There may have been a time where the military and veterans were respected by Republicans. Those times passed a couple decades ago at least. I voted Red my first year in the military because I didn’t know better. I studied and paid attention only to discover Blue were the ones looking out for my best interests as a military member and now as a veteran.
We are/were military. We're tools to be used and discarded by our politicians - "War is merely the continuation of policy by other means" is not merely a statement of the projection of force, but all the other smoke deploying for combat means: party pandering, defense profit-taking, lobby income. When the military moves, all the profit-takers salivate, whether the profit is money or votes or power.
Conservatives love the military, and swear they support us/our soldiers. And it's true, but not for the reasons the public generally thinks.
Veterans like me on the other hand can fuck right off for not doing our part to come home under a flag for their political profit parade.

As a former army captain with two deployments and then 3 years in Afghanistan as a contractor, fuck the alt right.
There are no laws. There are no morals. There are no ethics. There are no truths. There is only power, and they'll say or do whatever they think they need to do to get more power.
