Emergency vehicles are CyberStuck behind Cybertrucks because they lack adequate rear visibility.
exactly. if you cant see properly behind you, you are illegally driving recklessly and with illegal equipment, dipshit. either put the cover down so you can see farther behind you, get a normal car that isnt broken by design, or enjoy your ticket.
if he cant see the police, imagine what else he cant see? (small children, animals, etc.)
Plenty of vans and trucks have no rear windows for usable rear view mirrors, just means you have to use your side mirrors more. Dude needs to practice better situational awareness.
That’s true, but most of those vehicles have those truck style mirrors that go further out, giving more coverage than standard side view mirrors, at least in my experience.
Of course, Tesla designed this truck so that covering the entire rear window is the recommended way to drive. The other guy who was running into issues with the truck also pointed out that they depend on that rear view camera whose usability is a disaster, but they didn’t include a way to clean the lens. If you’re driving in the rain or otherwise kicking up stuff, the rear camera inevitably gets shmuts on it.
Don't forget: musk said that it wouldn't have side view mirrors at all but he couldn't get the regulations changed in order to not require them.
.... so what the heck was the plan?
The plan was for everyone using the road to be like those monkeys he killed trying to turn them into cyborgs.
he really does make a decent super-villain.
Thank goodness he wasn’t able to change the regulations, the windshield probably would’ve been the next thing to go.
The Scotus throwing out the Chevron ruling means he can get rid of them now
I've driven work vehicles with no rear visibility my entire adult life, including an '85 S10 with a box on the back and tiny side mirrors. It's not hard if you're an attentive driver.
That said, cops seem to LOVE flying up behind you with only lights on and no siren and getting so close that you won't see the cherries and berries on a sunny day. If the cop would've hung back by a car length I'm guessing the guy in the video would have seen them sooner.
It seemed like the cop car was an adequate length away from the CT in the video. Even in the video I could barely see the cop car's lights.
If he had better situational awareness, he wouldn't be driving a CT
Yeah I learned this lesson the hard way but without hurting someone. I had a lifted Jeep Wrangler and if someone was too close to my bumper, I couldn’t see them. I backed into a lowered Honda civic because I didn’t see them behind me while I was reversing to allow a firetruck into a shopping mall entrance. I hit them so hard I destroyed the poor guy’s car with my bike rack going through his front bay, almost into the engine. I’m sure I totaled his ride and even though my insurance paid him, it probably wasn’t enough to replace his car. I felt so bad about it, I started to turn down the radio on city streets to hear what was around me and be more aware.
Yeah this sucks bc the CT design is horrible but plenty of assholes like me either tint their rear too dark or don’t have a back up mirror/cameras. I’m not excusing the CT but I get it.
Them Cybertrucks need like 10 side mirrors like a semi-truck.
And those side view mirrors are insanely small. Big ass almost truck like thing & tiny mirrors.
I guess another one of it's features is it has the most blind spots.
Don't those vehicles require special licenses to operate though....?
Not at all. A pickup truck with a camper shell renders the rear view mirror useless, anyone can drive one of those.
Oh duh, I forgot about campers and tow behinds. I was thinking freighters and dumptrucks
All those vehicles typically have windows and mirrors that make up for that loss. This thing has nothing but blind spots.
I know, my original question was only about vehicles without rear views mirror access requiring special licenses. I know those vehicles have elaborate mirror set ups to avoid blind spots, I just thought for a bit they are needed training to use.
Its still early for my brain to function properly
How’s this vehicle even allowed to drive? It’s not allowed in much of western Europe
Our regulators are owned by industry.
We live in an oligarchy that despises regulations that keep the general public safe.
Clearly not even checking the side view mirrors... if you're driving a vehicle like a windowless van or moving truck, you don't have a rear view either, but you use your other mirrors more to compensate
Yeah, but when it drives over things it bricks, so he’ll have to pull over.
I drive semi with a sleeper with no windows and a 53’ trailer behind me. I have learned to use side mirrors often. Every 5-10 seconds give em a glance.
Or any other emergency services like an ambulance or a fire truck.
youre gonna lose your shit when you find out about every semi truck in the world
if you cant see properly behind you, you are illegally driving recklessly and with illegal equipment, dipshit.
They shouldn't be allowed on the road.
It was funny at first. Just how terrible are these things? Wow, they fall apart in the rain, wipers just come right off, trunk will break your finger, gas pedal gets stuck and the fix is redneck engineering ... and people are buying them for $100k lol. It was even funnier seeing used Cuck Trucks trying to sell at a premium. Like it's some kind of loyalty test, just how bad can the thing be and people still pay a lot for it?
But holy crap, if people can't see cops, ambulances, and fire trucks out of these trash mobiles, they can't be on public roads.
“I can’t see behind me.”
Okay.
“I removed the rearview mirror myself.”
Riiiight.
“I removed it because it’s practically useless to see behind me.”
But you still love the truck, I’d bet.
This brainless idiot put his finger in the frunk after it chopped off the tip of a carrot.
This brainless idiot put his finger in the frunk after it chopped off the tip of a carrot.
Im genuinly surprsied the cop didnt force him to pull over
If he was in an old Altima they would have just opened fire.
I mean it was stupid, but he’s apparently trying to warn other people against making the same mistake he did, which is all you can really ask for, we do all do stupid shit sometimes.
Yes but how do you not see a problem like this the first time you drive a vehicle? Which for most people is the test drive at the dealership.
He’s just outrage/engagement farming bcs unfortunately it’s very lucrative to do so. Hence all the abundance of posts on social media of ppl fighting to say the stupidest most outrageous shit at all times
It is absolutely amazing in how virtually every measurable metric this CyberTurd fails in all respects … all of ‘em ….
Then the steering goes wall-eyed, the rear wheels break off, and the clown jumps out.
It really feels like the first iteration of a vehicle fresh out the drafting room, not refined even once, then released to the public.
But that's the way Elon operates since day one. He transferred the pre-order, early access, totally broken alpha version software concept to the real world, with cars that can kill people. How this hasn't come back to him yet and landed him in jail for gross negligence is beyond me.
Yep.
His ego couldn't handle that 90% of the vehicle planning & construction process consists of pre-solved problems.
He wanted to start from scratch, using his big-brain to imagine better solutions over iterative process that's been ongoing for over a century.
Did you know that his engineering department actually approached him, along with like a majority of the rest of the company and said “This is a bad idea”? They even had an alternate design ready and waiting, looked the same, but had much more thought and safety planned into it. He shut them all down. Then later tried to blame the failures on the entire company, despite being the root problem.
Not explicitly but I am in no way surprised, he's been huffing his own supply too long to not be like that.
I've known enough people like that, thankfully they're not rich enough for it to be anything more than a local problem, that think their own genius far outweighs a honed practice.
But, but, the acceleration. That trumps everything.
That's because Elon actually "designed" it.
It's his brain child and it's exactly what you get when you snort a bunch of coke and ketamine.
Literally, any other automotive industry fail just pales in comparison to what happens with CyberTurd. Even the Pinto is quite tame. I mean the Pinto had one weakness, but this one just keeps showing more as time goes on. The other difference is the Pinto was a decent car otherwise, not so much for CyberTurd.
The definition of thrown together.
This should become a case-study of under-engineering.
Especially the fucking drivers.
This feels more on the driver. I guarantee he could have seen the cop in his side mirror. He was probably busy thinking about how cool he looks and if anyone has taken pictures.
Musk was directly involved in this project. So... this is what you get.
So the reason why I couldn't see him it's because my cybertruck doesn't have a rear view mirror.
I actually removed it
Sigh. Ok I suggest we all stop listening to Jeremy Judkins. Everything he's doing is full-on idiot.
In all fairness it was useless anyway so why not remove it?
It's a small physical rear view mirror, ridiculously small. As are the side mirrors. Tesla is a joke of a safety manufacturer now. So here's a thought, Jeremy, buy a bigger one, don't remove the only scrap of a mirror you have.
I agree with them all about the rear view camera though. The usability of the display on the center screen is very poor. Shamefully poor, since Tesla could have made the view bigger, clearer, and ideally as a digital rear view mirror for Chr**t's sake. There is no excuse for further crappifying the already poor visibility on a brand new 2024 vehicle, except safety arrogance and cheapness.
As he pointed out in the video, they’re supposed to be driving with the rear cover closed so he can’t even see out of the back window to use the mirror even if he were to get a larger one
Nobody is making him drive with the cover closed, that's his choice. If he can't figure out how to use side mirrors and the rear camera properly enough to see emergency vehicles then open the damn tonneau cover. This is his fault. It's a crap design but he bought it so he has to operate it safely.
I imagine tesla will (should) add some object recognition to the rear-view. They could outline people/bikes/cars with something that stands out and box-band emergency vehicles etc.
Still seems fucking dumb to not chuck some phone screen in the would-be rear-view. You could probably just get any 16:9/21:9 off the shelf screen too since you dont have to fit it against any particular constraints besides not being so big it obscures the actual windscreen.
How..exactly..would a bigger rear view mirror be able to see better? What will it see? More backseat?
The size is not a problem, the problem is that the mirror doesn’t show anything when the bed cover is closed….
Ikr. This guy is like a social parasite.
Agreed. It’s pure rage bait. Please don’t give likes or views to the guy severing long cylindrical fruits and vegetables in his frunk. No that is not a typo
Also, people drive trucks with no rear window or a covered up rear window every day without issue. Glance routinely into your side mirrors to keep an eye on what’s going 360 degrees around the vehicle.
I’m so confused by this man. He’s on Twitter about how much he loves it and it’s so amazing but all his videos point out flaws?
"I play both sides, that way,.I always come out on top."
On top of like, being on social media. Ugh.
He just wants the views. Like so many others. He just wants to be internet famous.
True! I guess I can’t really fathom views being important to people than looking like a full blown idiot
I think they feel like they are a part of the technology offered (narrator: they’re not.).
Like, they’re proud to debug it as “part of the process/tech” or whatever. If that’s how they truly feel, and they can afford it, than I’m really happy for them. I am not here to just hate on people that own a truck I hate.
There’s a super fine line between that and denial though, and that’s what makes this sub fun.
A good driver would be continually scanning all mirrors, dash and road ahead all the time. He should have seen the cop approaching in one of his side mirrors.
The side mirrors that Elon wanted removed from the CyberTruck.
Omg, wut? I missed that story. Gah, Elmo is such an idiot.
Yup, Tesla was trying to petition the Feds to allow an exception to needing mirrors on it. Apparently the Feds are smarter than Tesla because they denied that shit.
Looks like tesla will finally get its wish about not having mirrors with chevron deference out the window
& if karma does exist, one of these blind cyber idiots will not see Alito using the sidewalk when he backs up his cucktruck
Just Alito? Any chance Thomas is there too?
Any of them really. Alito just annoys me the most
Wow that is so stupid. I boroughs my brother-in-law’s suburban once to move some stuff. He didn’t have a drivers side side mirror. That was not fun merging.
This 100%
If you check your mirrors regularly, you'll see cops coming from quarter of a mile away. If you turn Taytay down, you'd hear the siren too.
With road awareness as bad as this, he's a fucking menace.
Just another Cybercuck idiot chasing clicks and sadly getting them.
I am certain Taylor Swift is way too liberal and woke for the general Cyber-„Truck“ owner
To be fair, she's the only pop star I can name these days.
When you get to my age, yadder yadder yadder....
I’m willing to bet it’s probably not legal to have improper mirrors on a vehicle, since you know, they test you on that in your drivers license evaluation…. They asked me to use mirrors for my test and it was drilled into me to use them as much as possible.
Those mirrors appear to be way too small for that truck.
Also don’t cops have like, sirens and flashing lights? You know, TO WARN YOU THEY’RE APPROACHING. Also people will move out of the way in front of me all the time before the vehicle even passes me, which usually prompts me to do the same.
Exactly, how does he think truckers do it? They don't have a center rearview mirror
What about box trucks and dump trucks and sprinter vans and step vans and any other vehicles without review mirrors? They don’t seem to have this problem.
I think sideview mirrors exist for cybercuck but dumb owner wouldn't know how to use them. Semi don't have rear view visibility when they're hauling but they can make way for emergency vehicles
So this guy doesn't check his mirrors while driving is what he's saying, got it. Which is also not all all surprising.
I wish the cop would mail him a ticket for not yielding.
Spelling it “Tano cover” is…. very cybertruck of him
"I didn't even the police officer"
Like... how hard can it be?
How are these things road legal
Well, that explains how that one person whose car got broken into didn't notice that they were being followed.
PSA: if you can see things that are directly behind you on your side mirrors, they’re aimed incorrectly.
Also PSA: if you drive a CyberCuck, you fucked up.
Side mirrors aren't primarily for reversing, they're for side view at speed.
And Cybertrucks aren't for usability, safety or reliability, they're for stroking a sad ego.
How in the world did the NHTSA ever sign off on this thing?
This guy is like Gomer Pyle if Gomer Pyle were a twink with a trust fund 👱🏻♂️🏦
It's so fucking stupid. I used to drive box trucks and a lot of them had the same rear view camera solution, but they actually had a screen in lieu of a rear view mirror. It's a simple solution that the 'genius' Musk didn't think of.
This twat again
My van has no rear mirror and I manage to use my wing mirrors to see what’s behind me without any issue. Does owning a Cybertruck remove the ability to be able to drive?
How the fuck was this monstrosity ever approved by the NHTSA as a road worthy vehicle?
Why wouldn’t the rear view mirror just be the screen for the rear camera? I’ve driven the new Lexus RX as a loaner, and the rear view mirror is a regular mirror and then you hit a button and it becomes the screen for the rear camera instead. I drove with it as the camera and it was weird at first, but it was pretty nice. I can’t believe this super expensive ‘new age truck’ just has a cheap, regular old mirror, especially since you can’t even see through the rear window! The entire thing inside just looks cheap and not worth the price. That’s not even getting into all of the issues it’s had. It’s mind boggling
That's a long way of saying "I don't use my side mirrors"
Drove a Ford transit 250 for a bit. Cant see through the back, but it did have a digital rear view mirror that worked through a camera. Hi def too. You'd think k they'd do that here.
Bruh you can use your side view mirrors. Lots of vehicles don’t have rear view mirrors. And part of being a responsible driver is checking those mirrors regularly. At any point while driving you should be able to identify the type of vehicle or at least the color of the vehicle directly behind you. This is all driving 101.
lol - the Cybertruck is so far advanced tech wise (supposedly), yet, the rear view mirror is only a mirror? Holy shit - there are production cars out there where the mirror can be used as a mirror OR as a screen (at the flip of a button). Perhaps Tesla should look into this.
“A rear view window would make it better. I mean, it does have one, but I took it off. I do have side mirrors that show lights well, and I didn’t notice anything. It’s easier with the cover open, but I choose to drive with it closed.”
What is this guy’s thesis?
Aside from the dumbass taking off his rearview mirror and not being able to see out the back, why would he have to move over for the cop that doesn’t have any lights or siren on? “The cop had to use his siren to get me to pull over” yeah that’s the only reason you would?
No rearview mirror? Fuck, I hate it even more now. Didn't realize it was possible. Does it have safety belts or are those for cucks too?
Honestly if was hiring and I knew they had a cybertruck I would not hire the person.
It speaks miles about their shitty decisionmaking
that is dangerously stupid of tesla to design it that way... how did that even get through testing oh wait.... these people are testing the trucks..
This is what frustrates me the most. Cybertrucks endanger everyone else on the road and emergency vehicles have a hard time navigating around them. They’re the most narcissistic vehicle available.
I drive a panel van with no rear view window all day long. It has a rear view camera that comes on when I reverse, but not while driving forward. I have no problem seeing emergency vehicles in the side mirrors. But I am also smart enough not to buy a cybercuck. So there's that.
Stupid as I think the cyber truck it I must say I drove a ford transit van with no rear view mirror for about 15 years without having this problem.
Honestly if your situational awareness is so shit you are not noticing the police trying to get past you shouldn’t be driving a little city car let alone a ridiculous wankpanzer.
"I didn't see them because I have no mirror"
"I have no mirror because it's useless."
…you guys know he’s a sensationalist, right? Stop posting his videos, you’re only enabling his useless contributions to society.
I downvot these stupid ass videos. You should too.
Videos warning people of a vehicle defect?
This is retarded driver and not a problem with the Cyber Truck. I drive box trucks and vans all day long that don’t have rear view mirrors. That’s why you have side view mirrors. This guy is an idiot not for buying the CT but just because he is.

Ope!
I'm still shocked(semi) Musk was able to convince/bribe the powers to be to self certify.
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH DURRRRRRR
In any country with safety regulations this shit is not allowed to put a tire on the road. Should have made him think twice before buying, but no, let's make tiktoks about basic safety issues that should not have gone through the conception phase WHILE IT'S ON THE FUCKING PUBLIC ROAD.
There’s something so punchable about these cyberchuds
These giant pieces of Elon crap will never be allowed on Australian, UK or European roads.
I’m tired of these videos
Lmao. This fucking vehicle is going to bankrupt Tesla
This car is not allowed on german streets. 'nuff said lol
Just remember when you’re receiving tips on removing your rear view mirror. It the same guy who did this.
So legally speaking, because the cybertruck doesn't have adequate rear viewing, it should be ILLEGAL for them to be on the roads?
Shit design, and shit driving. Plenty of vehicles have no central rear view mirror, and the drivers manage to see emergency vehicles behind - I know because I used to be EMS - and it's only those who are such piss poor drivers that don't update themselves with their wing mirrors that struggle.
Cop should have beat his ass
I HOPE THIS FUCKING SHIT NEVER LANDS ON EUROPE!!!
Enjoy your fine and points.
§ 46.2-829. Approach of law-enforcement or fire-fighting vehicles, rescue vehicles, or ambulances; violation as failure to yield right-of-way.
46.2-829 is a traffic infraction punished with a fine up to $250 and 4 DMV demerit points.
Dumb fuck can’t use side mirrors?
So, why didn't they make the review mirror and actual LCD screen that shows the camera view? You know, so muscle memory works when looking at what's behind you?
With all the dumb decisions made about the cyber truck, I would call this the “least dumb.” Vehicles with no rearview mirror is not new. Panel vans, UHaul trucks, and any vehicle pulling a large trailer will all have zero visibility out the back.
Playing stupid games, winning stupid prizes...
FrankenTruck (ftfy)
Every Tesla driver is comparable to owning a product like the dick shooting gun. No one wants to get shot in the dick but these people buy that and then complain when it shoots off their dick.
I’d have thought the cyber truck would’ve had a digital rear view where the mirror is. Like so many other modern trucks.
If I can install a rear view mirror that shows the view of the rear view camera while driving in my 10 year old Sportage surely a 100k cyber truck should have something similar?
The title of the video is “Do you consider this cyber truck video too negative?” And if that isn’t an admission to how cult like the CT/Elon bootlickers are I don’t know what is. Dude is concerned his legitimate criticism of the shitty car is gonna get him flamed by other idiots who bought the overpriced pile of steel.
This vehicle is just plain unsafe for the road
Can’t even spell right
F3 man! Press F3!
Why do people continue to buy Musk Rats shitty cars
With all this tech, you'd think that they would have an 'emergency vehicle proximity alert' that just tells you.
How did this thing get OK'd for the road? This seems like the kind of thing the NTSB should have killed in the crib.
HAHAHA
That’s so dumb.
Your man card has already been revoked, your license needs to be next.
Love seeing these videos and posts of people being surprised that the Cyberturd doesn’t have basic functions that literally every other car on the market has, ya know, mirrors and stuff, gas pedals that don’t get caught and force you to accelerate, door panels that have reinforced parts to help reduce fatalities when hit from the side. It’s almost like the person who designed it knows absolutely nothing about cars and can’t take constructive criticism about how to improve their design because they’re so uptight.
I drive a service van with no rear glass or side windows daily and I have never had that issue, maybe they need to adjust their mirrors or something. Or maybe the cybertruck needs bigger mirrors.
How is this street legal?
This guy is so lazy that he couldn't even bother to proof and edit the text in his red box (I didn't even the police)...probably under the idea of, "Oh, you know what I mean."
Why do they all sound like have pubescent teens?
Your not only an idiot for buying a cybertruck, but your an idiot for not checking your side mirrors on a constant basis. How do you drive down the road and not check behind you on a regular basis?
Cop should have given him a ticket.
Wtf USA, how is this road legal.
I know, I know, its so heavy that it gets a special license but I still dont understand how the rules for regular cars arents necessary for bigger cars... Wouldnt it be even more important for them?
The fact it comes with a rear view mirror when you can't even see through the bed cover; is honestly just chefs kiss
Side view mirrors don’t exist?
Ummmm, that's actually truck stuff. Not being able to use a rear view mirror. That's why truck have big ass side mirrors.
Once again, the Cuberstuck can't do basic truck.
In his defense. My work truck with a covered bed doesn't have a rear view mirror either.
More of the cops issue of not using his siren.
Don't forget folks, Elon tried to get rid of the side view mirrors. These should have long armed towing mirrors, but form over function in every detail of this POS.
I'm flabbergasted that this thing is legal on the roads.
So much “innovation “ in car design in general is finding solutions for problems that don’t exist. We just spent $200 on a new start button our VW. Keys worked fine, as do rear view mirrors!
I thought it most places it’s illegal to block the back window so you cannot see out of it properly. I know when my family goes on long trips so we have to pack a lot of stuff in our trunk to make sure that we don’t block that because we’ve been told that it cannot be blocked or else can incur ticket.
This guy. Ive never heard a punchable voice before. But OMG.
These pieces of shit should be taken off the road if they're that dangerous. It's gotta be illegal to not see what's behind you...
So yeah, this guy’s an idiot, but this vehicle is far beyond his personal stupidity
Ohhhh Tesla 😂😂😂
All these fucking morons look and sound the same.
Lol rear view mirror: useless. Rear view camera on stupid tablet dash: minimized.
Tesla knows the white boys who buys these will never actually be in danger of law enforcement, only confused jealousy
Do your ears not work?
Um, that seems illegal
This fucking chowderhead said "embarassing" like he has the ability to feel that emotion when all signs point to the opposite.
what an idiot this guy is.....
Fucking dumb
This means that, at least in CA (guessing most states) the Cyber truck is not a street legal moter vehicle. I remember doing research on this when I decided I didn't need to replace my passenger side mirror.
I finally figured out what him ripping the rear view mirror off reminded me of. Gumball Rally where the Italian dude rips off the mirror and says "whats-a behind me does not-a matter."
How the hell did this thing pass any road safety tests?
Digital mirrors fix a problem that never existed. At least with a normal mirror I can see what is going on in the back seat and move my head to change the field of vision. Over-engineering at its best.
I think I've figured this guy out. Every video has some amount of deception.
What happened is this: The cop appeared behind him in real time like we saw in the video. For three seconds with lights flashing. Turned on his siren because goofball wasn't letting him pass.
That's it.
So then Jeremy makes up this entire story about "he was driving behind me for a long time... because of the mirror that I removed, because of the flickering that doesn't show up, because of the small rear view video display."
Don't you get it? The whole story is fabricated, each time, because that gets him a few lame clicks. It was never about the cop following him, and him not being able to see the cop. The whole thing is just a wind-up, and we're playing into the story by debating rear mirrors and side mirrors, when really it's just goofball making up random shit and lies from a five second video and an idiotic idea to get a few more clicks.
This is such a piece of shit. The truck too.
I feel like these Cybertrucks are lacking purposely. They have a solid group of testers at this point, which will help them fix all the cybertruck issues while being paid from their users to be beta testers.
’m guessing it also helps them weed out older car features that don’t stick with the futuristic vibe (the rear view mirror in this video for example)
Isn’t this the dope who whined about the “instant celebrity status” that came along with the Cybertruck and also referred to himself as a “famous influencer”?
The “influencer” era really does suck sometimes.
This truck is just a comedy of malfunctions and poor planning.
These things are so fucking stupid.
What a piece of shit.
Every day I am baffled that the NTSB cleared these things to be on the road.
Software update? Apply the same thing they did for autopilot and flashing lights?
I have driven vans with no rear windows and not had any issues.
How are these things even allowed on the road? This is a serious question, it was also revealed that the side doors don’t have impact bars! And no crumple zones in front and back of vehicle. Aren’t all these issues, non issues because all vehicles need to adhere to specific safety rules?
Can anyone explain how the fuck this truck is legal?
I love how he called the mirror useless in a CT. The latter is what’s useless.
“It’s not gonna get your attentionnnn”
You bought the thing you brainless idiot.
The only problem with this video is the lack of the cop giving you a ticket for failing to yield.
