It's very hard to see the difference using their lens simulator. It sounds like the blue mirror version can become slightly brighter. Seems like a blue mirror should remove blue light, but it's hard for me to think what that will look like on a green lens?
That's an interesting shape for the other sticker.
Also anything made of polycarbonate just can't let UV through. And that's one of the cheapest things to make lenses out of. There's no money to gain by screwing people out of UV protection.
Apparently someone on TikTok is scaring people though.
Republicans have no standards.
This is happening because humanity has been releasing greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere.
When she said laser and touched her head I thought she meant she needs eye surgery.
The plastic (probably polycarbonate) the lenses are made from is a soft material, and can scratch because of it. They use a coating to help the lenses resist scratches, but it can only help so much.
Glass is a much harder material and a lot harder to scratch. It can shatter because it's brittle, but it takes a lot to scratch it.
Serengeti can make glass prescription lenses.
Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone!
Why do they both look constipated?
You want to punish honest people for their opinions because you think they're not loyal enough?
It's freaking blue maga.
Your hair looks great.
Narrower glasses would complement you face better.
It's honestly surprising that #3 hasn't happened. He's basically as old as Biden, obese, and his brain is falling apart even though it was never very good to begin with.
Really? We dumped more carbon into the atmosphere in 2023 than any other year. He's keeping Chinese EVs off the market. He's providing the weapons for an ethnic cleansing.
Trump would be worse, but Biden isn't doing an excellent job as president.
I appreciate all the thoughts!
The photo really benefits from the water having a strong green hue, which is perfect for the lens.
Greenish blue water is common where I live. All glacier fed lakes are turquoise. I spent a week on one last month and wish I knew about these lenses, I brought all of my Mauis and none was as perfect as that simulation looks.
I think in those conditions either lens would get you a near perfect view.
Thanks!! I can't wait to go try. I'm being indecisive because I like the way the blue mirror looks to other people, but I've learned how much good lenses can do.
You have a photo on your "how green lenses work" article, of a mountain lake. The vegetarian looks amazingly lush and the water has a magical green quality to it, like Saint Peter just took a bath there.
It sounds like the 555 without the blue mirror is the one I would prefer if I love the way that photo looks?
They both look good on you but the first one is near perfection.
Real top of the world feeling. They're are places in the northern Cascades that look like this, but this is different in a way that's hard to put your finger on.
It's interesting that you're more specific about what the HT is than anybody else I've seen talk about it. I've always either heard it's a golf lens or more commonly it's for when it's mostly too dark for other sunglasses. You define them as:
- High performance low light lenses
- Cooling
- Green
I only ever thought of it as a higher VLT lens. So while there's no exact competitor, I found the Hawaii Blue works well enough on overcast days. But that's a warming lens so you wouldn't consider it a match.
I have a Maui Green and find it cooling, it at least not warming, so I understand what you're talking about.
You consistently post facts and wisdom here, I'm about to read this.
I was going to ask how it compares to the Serengeti 555 but the table of contents looks like you've covered that already.
If you just finished hiking in Arizona, this stuff matters a lot.
Most of the time, it's not important.
That's what makes it such heat propaganda for Big Milk, it's true but not relevant to most people most of the time.
It can be true if you're dehydrated. Cows want to keep their young healthy including hydrated. It's got electrolytes, what plants crave. Sometimes like during sports and heat waves, you sweat a lot, and it's not just water you're losing. But the other 90 to 99 % of the time, you only need water to be hydrated because you get the salts and minerals your fluids need from food.
Here's something more important:
Water doesn't have calories.
Milk has potentially a lot of calories.
She murdered a puppy because she failed to train it. And then she thought that would get her the Republican nomination for vice president.
What did she do, Petah?
