She jus' a baybee
True
I would say calico. She's got black, ginger, and white patches. What a cutie!!
I truly will never find the end of the cat subs.
There are soooo many
There is ALWAYS another one 😂
Yeah she’s got the tortitude
I think a calico, but some parts look a little like a tortie. She's very pretty!
Yeah, they are quite similar 😁
Calicos have white! And she’s a beautiful one
Ugh, another cat sub
joins
Calico
this is harvey 😂 (she’s a feral i trapped and trying to find a home for)
Beautiful! 😻 Mine was a feral, I had to keep her! It was the beauty.
Hope you’re not in Texas because then I’ll have to adopt her. 🥰🥰
no 😭 florida.
she has a brother who is all black. he just wants snuggles and is the sweetest boy 💜
Oh, my heart!! If I wasn’t married, I would be the real crazy cat lady. Lol! The man is 12 years my senior so….😼😹 I currently have 7 spoiled fur balls and I am always looking for ways to “accidentally” add another.
Calco
Calico!
Calico! She has a good deal of white, and is more patchy than a typical tortie.
She’s very special, called Chimera.
Tortie is only black and orange, calico is all three, black white and orange, so calico 100% and awesome Gemini split face
Yes
Shes a calico princess with the cutest ankle socks
She’s a special kind of calico called a chimera! Well, shes almost a chimera. They have split black and orange right down the middle of their face and heterochromia. Yours doesn’t have heterochromia, but she does have the split face!
’Almost chimera’ isn't possible. A cat is a chimera and has two DNA sets, or a cat isn't a chimera.
A chimera doesn't have to have a split face or heterochromia. A chimera is the result of 2 embryos fusing. Those embryos can have any color, it doesn't have to be a red and a black. If the colors of the fused kittens match, nobody can tell ( without DNA tests) that the cat is a chimera. If two black embryos fuse, the result will be a normal looking black cat, if two tabbies fuse, the result will be a normal looking tabby.
If a cat has impossible colors and/or a split face, it still isn't sure it is a chimera. Narnia, the famous black and blue split faced cat, was DNA tested and he isn't a chimera ( although many sites still claim he is ).
oh, really? I didnt know that, thanks for telling me!
I would say Calico! My little Mama❤️
Both
A tortico! That’s what I called my Twix.
I thought torties were a subcategory of calicos. So, yes?
Tortoiseshell cats are orange-and-black cats resembling the body patterning of a tortoise, while calico cats have three colors in their coat (orange, black, and white). This is what Google says, but some say that torties can have white colored fur but it needs to be less than 30 percent of the color, something like that
Saying that tortishells can have white is a redefinition of the tortishell
By definition-
calico = all 3 colors (or the dilute manifestion of buff, white and grey)
Tortishell-= black and orange
It’s a color definition, not a pattern one (like tabby, etc)
Yeah thats what I learned from this post
I am bad at biology, but I remember seeing that the black and orange coat colors come from the two different X chromosomes in a female cat. You see both of them in a calico/tortoiseshell, where you normally see one dominant color from one of the two X chromosomes in other cats.
She kinda looks like a chimera kitty?? With the split face!! Maybe she’s both actually
A gorgeous Calico girl!😻😻😻♥️♥️
I recently found out that true tortoise shells have no white. If it does, it could be a calico with tortoise patches.
Your cat is a tabby calico chimera
Looks like your cat and my cat are twins 😂😂
Woow I'we seen some similar ones but yours definitely looks the most like my cat 😂
Wow! She’s beautiful! So the thing about calicos and torties is, that calicos ARE torties, just w more white. The more white patching/spotting there is, the greater sparsed the ginger and black patches will be.
There is ALSO such a thing as tortie-and-white, which is exactly what it sounds like, a tortie w minimal white. I would say yours is straddling the line, but the mittens and white blaze being the extent they are, along with the spacing between the ginger and black patches (black patches are large w a discernible border, ginger patches also have a mostly discernible border) I would say she is indeed a calico.
If the white blaze was smaller/more spotty, and the mittens were just the toes, and the ginger and black patching looked more mottled and blended, it would be tortie-and-white.
Her patching looks a lot like my girl!
Thank you, probably the best comment on this topic I'we read. Exactly what I was wondering. It confused me that there were torties with white patches on them, so the difference between them was minimal in my eyes.
Np!! Glad I could help! I did a few papers on cat genetics and coat colors for a project in high school and that info still bounces around in my head. Meanwhile, I can’t remember any Spanish at all lol. The kind is weird w the info it chooses to keep! Glad it came in handy tho!
She is the mother of dragons.
If cats have white they are calicos. Tortues only have black and orange.
She might be a tortico (combined tortoise back - calico). My own little kitty cat girl is a tortico. Her brother is a tuxie. I love them both, very dearly.

Lol, the horses. Do they chase themselves (and each other) around the house?
My kitties definitely do that, from time to time. They both certainly feel their oats, on occasion. And they can be a nuisance, during those times. But nonetheless, I still love them both, very dearly. I'm one of those people, who really needs a couple of live cats in his life.

Calico
That face
Tortie
Definitely a calico mew!
Calico
Torbie?
Calico!
Tortico. Or maybe Calatie.
Calico or tortico
uh, yes?
Definitely Calico. Split face, white fur.
Calitortie?
Calico. Torties don't have white fur.
Left side (black) be like:
Let's go and conquer the world!
Right side (ginger) be like:
What treat should I ask my parents for later?
Hahaha exactly that
I would call her a tortie from the second picture due to there being no white. She is beautiful
But her paws and tummy are white. If you're speaking generically, tortoiseshells do not have the white spotting gene. So, this would be a calico.
I thought so aswell, thank you 😁
just a baby
