Won’t be long and she will have it figured out.
Same 🥴😂
Or the sheer chaos that's gonna come from a shot of old water to the face. 😂😂I'll pray for you hah.
I am just thankful there is a child lock when the time comes 🤣
Oh mine would never stop
Child lock setting.
I know my Mal would be doing the same thing as yours if I had an in the door unit.
On the other hand I do have a bidet that automatically raises the lid on the toilet. If he ever notices the wall mounted remote I could be in trouble.
So much trouble... your mal "oh look, I found a water fountain" LMAO
I do not have a favorite puppy, I do not have a favorite puppy, I do not have a favorite puppy…🥹
🤫🫶🏼
You want one don’t lie ….
Yes 😩..NO, I mean NO! Maybe just visitation.
Well, I suppose it’s better than finding him on top of the fridge 😅
I’ve seen video 🙃
It wouldn’t surprise me 😂
Lol seen that too. Mine loves to get on stuff
I specifically bought a fridge without this because I have smart dogs lol
Yep, same. We just got a new fridge a couple weeks ago and the salesperson was like, “but this newer model with the ice dispenser on the door is cheaper and much more convenient…?” My husband, not even thinking, “the dog uses it too much, makes a fucking mess trying to get himself ice all day…”
Salesperson 😳slowly backing away…. 😆🤣😂
🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
We use the child-lock function lol
I am so glad we don’t have a water thing on our fridge. We have a smart German and my Mal in the house they would play with that.
I’m expecting her to figure it out pretty quick. I can’t be mad at her. She heard the ice drop and connected that to the dispenser. Excellent problem solving in my opinion. We are working on leave it and worst case scenario, there is a child lock 😃
Teach em calculus.
That’s next 🫡
Nothing like scrolling through Reddit to see your pup on here …nice love ♥️
Best comment on this thread!🤣🤣🤣
That door knob.. give it another month or two. Soon as that fucker figures out the door knob … enjoy. We have the same one as you, with no locks, all of our mals just open all the doors and explore everything. Some figured out how to open with their hands, some use their mouth but every single one of them figured it out fast.. it’s the biggest problem we have had.
Sooo that door knob was a handle and we had a bengal cat that kept opening it and raiding the pantry…. Looks like the next upgrade will have a lock 😆🙃
My friend’s mal figured out the doors, the windows…and her crate.
Damn.. that’s bad. Lol I wouldn’t know what to do at that point.
I'm impressed.... and terrified lol
🤣🤣🤣
We turned ours off and have a countertop ice maker... otherwise, there would be ice EVERYWHERE in our house
We just bought a new refrigerator with a child lock function on it for just this reason. Ours loves to eat ice cubes when it's hot, and all we can imagine is a big pile of ice / water puddle on the floor.
Mine figured out the ice machine & door knobs real fast!
I do applaud the intelligence even if it’s annoying 😆
Your Mal has nearly the exact same color pattern as mine. I had to ask her if she was over there.
😍😍
Our first dog completely ruined our wood floors doing this. Child lock when you leave the house. We were both impressed at her brains and sad for the floors.
Right? Like on the one hand, super impressed but on the other hand…. Shit 😂 thankfully this one is still young enough to be kenneled when we leave
Duuuude. Make sure you’re up to date on homeowners insurance.
Oh yes. And pet insurance because malinois 💁🏽♀️
So smart
Mine learned that in one lesson too - they are scary smart, aren’t they?
Annoyingly so 😅 (but I love it)
They’re extremely smart and very agile. Keeping them busy is the key. Precious dog!!
Indeed, thank you!!
Thank goodness I don’t allow my girl in the kitchen - I’d not even considered that she might be tempted by the ice dispenser.
She did figure out the shower after watching me operate it though.
😳new achievement unlocked
Is everything okay with her? I see she’s on some meds.
Thanks for asking! She just finished up a course of metronidazole for Giardia.. b/c puppy and everything goes in her mouth
Oh wow my 6 month old Malinois is trying to figure out my ice maker
😆😆😆, smart little buggers
is there a child lock on your dispenser?
Thankfully yes!
Don't worry, she'll destroy it before it makes too big a mess
So glad my cavalier can’t reach the lever on the fridge door.
🤣🤣🤣
Sorry but this is hilarious
Oh absolutely! 🙃
First thing is to correct the behavior of not jumping on the fridge.
Why not? 🤔
Firstly, this isn’t a training issue. This puppy is perfection, she’s problem solving and exploring her environment, there isn’t a problem here. Secondly, hot sauce/chili sauce is not an effective or appropriate training tool. Capsaicin can cause digestive upset and cause a myriad of gastric issues, most also contain garlic and onions which are in the allium family which are toxic to dogs.
I see 🤔 I misinterpreted the post then....
Regarding the sauce, I do know it can cause digestive issues, but it's not something that I use often. Also, the ones that I've used didn't have garlic and onion (or sugar, or any other thing). Most were hand made.
Anyway, thank you for the information. As someone with ASD, it's hard to figure out what people want to know when they share something on a subreddit.
Oh right, the send help, It’s a joke. It’s very hard to tell on the internet.
Yes, hot sauce isn’t an appropriate training tool. Dogs have 300 million olfactory receptors, even sniffing hot sauce isn’t particularly humane treatment.
A better approach if one wanted to end this behavior would be to redirect, ask for an alternate behavior, block access or even simply put on the child lock, once water and ice stopped flowing the dog would likely lose interest.
I definitely don’t want to discourage you from helping dogs, we are all here to learn and help each other. 💙
Thank you
All I can think of is the puddle of water thats eventually going to live on your floor. I'm glad mine hasn't figured that out yet.
