I'm looking online and didn't know where to start. Would love any recommendations you have, thank you.
Thank you for the tip, she loves water so that would be a great idea.
Ruffwear Palisades has been great … bags are removable and tolerates abuse very well!
Thanks for the tip
My dog has a Ruffwear Approach pack. It fits him well and he does not mind wearing it. It is also very robust; he rubs against rough rocks and vegetation all the time during our various adventures and the pack is holding up great.
I think the Approach is the better choice for medium/smaller dogs (<45lbs) vs. the Palisades. The Palisades is great for bigger dogs who can carry more weight, as the Palisades pack is heavier and bulkier than the Approach, and it can carry bigger loads.
We have the Approach for our 42lbs heeler, and it can hold just enough for up to about 5 nights on the trail (food, treats, rescue harness, bowl).
Thank you she's a black lab so she's about 56 lbs
Ruffwear is a great brand and very durable. I have yet to find a pack that sits balanced on my Rottie mix no matter how the straps are done or bags are weighted. I've given up. Now I'm just trying to find a solution for his one raw armpit.
That is a worry I have as well
I like ruff wear with removable bags. Per someone else’s suggestion, I did replace the bags with lightweight dry bags to reduce weight and give superior water protection.
