which conspiracy theory if true would most seriously upend society as we know it?
I agree, realisation that the space-faring aliens are so dumb would be very depressing.
More like they are manipulating us to slowly destroy ourselves so we don't venture out in to the broader galaxy and become competition.
If you said something like resource mining or secretly harvesting our meat (I'm on to you, big funeral)
But just poorly leading us is moronic and would take too long
Maby they all are just bored, young and rich enough to just do it for the giggles?
I'd rather they just blow the planet up instead
I'd be pissed because I never got my device!!!
I'd just be impressed.
I would sell weather requests like a Jukebox. "$50/hr for Cloudy, $100 Sunshine, $200 Rain, $250 Thunderstorm, $500 Thunderstruck Special, $100,000 - $500,000 Hurricane Cat 1-5, $100,000-$500,000 Tornado F1-F5, $1,000,000 F3 Tornado to surgically strike a rival's property, $10,000,000 100 mile radius flooding on a target of choice.
I would also offer music choices to play during the weather request. Imagine Cold Hard Bitch playing while an F3 tornado rips through your bad neighbor's house and dissipates, leaving every other property unaffected.
If it’s true then those fuckers need to come to the south and correct the settings. Gonna need them to dial down the humidity a pinch.
Two words: SPACE LASER
If Jewish people controlled the weather Israel and NYC would have idyllic climates.
I’d prefer if the Switzerland $1 million bank account conspiracy was true. Where my money at
The reason why birds are able to perch in high voltage powerlines without being electrocuted because they are CIA spy drones recharging their batteries.
Why do these drones keep shitting on my car
It's White liquid latex
It was white, until the drones started stealing the cat food I leave out for the local cats, now it’s reddish brown. Unless the local cats are shitting on my car now too
They are trying to communicate with you.
Or the Rick and Morty squirrel thing...
Come here little boy! We'll give you powers, and make you fly!
Only one real person exists, and everyone else is a figment if their imagination. Everyone would go crazy to find out who is real
They just haven't turned off Roy yet.
Saw a video few years back about how what it you were every person ever you die and you come back as every person ever for all eternity
Baby eating lizard people in US congress 😆
I think it would more explain a lot versus upend society.
This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing! 😂
As a fellow human, I do thank for you to post!
It was already funny but I was dying when I clicked on Rudy's page saw "may make your penis psychotic" and then immediately read the quote from America's first Italian mascot, Mr. Mucinex
Are the lizard people only in the US or do they run other governments too? Like does Uzbekistan have lizard people running the show too?
Apparently all the royal family in England are lizards too. The real reason andrew was shunted was not because he was a pedo but he let slip he doesn't sweat. Some things are unforgivable.
I also heard they kept catching him sunning himself on a rock. Gotta do that in private, Lizard dude,
I’m comfortable with saying yes, the lizard people have infiltrated nearly all governments on earth. It’s the first part of their master plan to destroy humanity
I'm pretty sure the human politicians are doing this well enough without help
Yes they are. “Human”
It'd be wild if the only human-run government was something like North Korea.
Kim Jong Un being the only actual human in the entire political world is for some reason a funny thought. I can imagine him finding out and being upset he was never told about the reptile takeover, because they all thought he was one of them.. and he’s on their side anyway of course
Nah, North Korea is a highly-tech utopia like Wakanda, masquerading as a squalid dictatorship to keep the rest of the world away.
I would think they are international by now. Probably fewer numbers in the colder areas though
Explains global warming right there.
Wait, there's a baby going around eating lizard people?
Flat earth
Smiling Friends did this bit best just a few weeks ago too.
"I think I'm gonna pass out, dude."
"I'm gonna puke, oh god don't look."
"We're going to have to take this to our graves"
"The Earth is flat, Charlie"
(Already sitting down) "I need to sit down..."
It’s not often I laugh out loud but that bit got me. Just their reactions to the information lol
99% of them would immediately convert to round earth theory upon legit confirmation I bet
Haha yeah, it's not about proving that the Earth is flat for those people. It's to get the feeling of knowing something other people don't, for a change. To be one of the few initiated, and to get a feeling of belonging.
I was just telling this to my wife about her flat earter cousin. He has created a fantasy world where he is the smartest person in the room at all times.
But it's not that hard? There's so much knowledge in the world that you can, with minimal effort, know more about a certain topic than 90% of people. And your facts would be true as well.
There was a documentary about flat earthers that came out years ago (Behind The Curve) and the thesis of the show was pretty much that these people are both seeking to feel like they’re special and a sense of community. So they could dedicate their time to being a subject matter expert on some random thing, but the real point is to find other people that you can form a little exclusive club with, and then you get to celebrate how you are the chosen few who are smart enough to see the truth that everyone else can’t see. In the end it’s people seeking connection while also addressing a feeling of inadequacy
Oh god, I'd just shoot myself. Imagine how much more insufferable the flat earthers would be if they were vindicated.
I think we’d become the flat earthers, except they’d call us the round earthers
'upend society'
I see what you did there
literally flying off the earth rn
Yeah this has got to be the best one. It would bring into question literally everything.
Just to underscore what you're saying here, it really would literally call into question everything. Absolutely everything! Every bit of science, deduction , observation, and the very concepts of logic and reasoning. And reality - it would call into question our perception of reality.
And for those reasons, the earth is not flat. It's an irregularly-shaped oblate spheroid.
The cats would ruin everything by knocking it into orbit.
John Carpenter nailed it when he made They Live
Of course a carpenter nailed it.
Yeah that's The Thing he does.
This movie is more relevant now than in the 80s.
Same amount of relevant because nothing has changed.
They don’t know what it felt like to grow up with Reagan and the Cold War.
I would say that’s good but like you said the underlying crap is so much the goddamn same.
Wish I saved the clip (because I can’t find it anywhere-scrubbed from the internet??) but there was an interview with Keith David and he said that “They Live” was #1 at the box office for a week (or two, can’t remember) and they (TPTB) pulled the movie from theaters.
Wonder why they would do that??
From IMDb:
According to a title-card in the made-for-DVD short documentary He Lives: Interview with John Carpenter (2013), "They Live opened at #1 at the US box office. And disappeared from theaters soon afterwards".
They Live always reminds me of the bizarre Simpsons NES game which seemed to be a They Live game that just got re-skinned for The Simpsons at the last second when someone (quite correctly) decided that was a more valuable IP.
What’s that about?
Unemployed construction worker looking for work, instead finds out the terrible truth behind modern society.
Even if you've never seen the movie I'm sure you've seen memes based on some of the imagery.
"I'm here to chew bubble gum and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum." Is one of the major meme quotes from the movie.
Birds aren't real. What is this ”chicken” meat we have all been eating really made of?
Dinosaurs, obviously.
......technically correct?
Life...uh...finds a way
I don’t think “birds aren’t real” includes chickens. I think they are just birds that can fly and casually observe.
I don’t think “birds aren’t real” includes chickens.
That's what they want us to think.
Soylent green is people!!!
“How is it?”
“Well it varies from person to person”
That when they turned on the Large Hadron Collider, our universe was damaged beyond repair and as a result, we somehow shifted into the next closest universe...hence all the Mandela Effects and why things don't feel like they used to for those of us who live a long time before the collider was turned on
I remember a funny Tumblr post when I was going down the Wikipedia/Google rabbit hole reading about the Mothman cryptid, where there were a bunch of unrelated sightings and accounts of him in the mid-late 60s, then a series of societal shifts followed which were made iconic with some high profile assassinations.
The Tumblr joke was how the Mothmen came to correct some things in secret, in rural Minnesota or wherever it was, and it caused the timeline to split into good and bad. We are in the bad one :(
Does it say how one can shift to the good one?
Asking for myself.
send me all of your money and you will shift into the best timeline.
West Virginia. Not Minnesota.
So the clovdrfield paradox, but with less explosions and monsters
Yet…
It will always be looney toons. Am I the only one to remember the fact they used characters in the O's?
Any proof that major events are all orchestrated by one singular all-controlling power would do it.
Imagine having proof that Biden, Putin, Xi Jinping, Narendra Modi, all of them were part of one mega-organization.
Imagine learning that Fox and MSNBC called one another up and said "ok ok, you write about how the brown people coming into the country are bad but all their ideas about abortion are actually good, and we'll write about how we should embrace them but in a 'liberal ideas know best' kind of way, and they'll be too busy arguing about that to notice we just gave another billion to our friends."
Imagine learning when Trump said "I talked to Putin about his dream about invading Ukraine" he was letting it slip that the whole dance was preordained because, IDK, someone needed to see if Javelins actually work as well as advertised and Putin needed to send some mercenaries off to die.
Nothing pisses off like finding out their leaders betrayed them and learning that every single leader has been in on the betrayal from the start?
Edit: It's kind of funny how many people are responding saying this is basically true because some org or another has a lot of power in some circles, or because you see a lot of rich people from a given background hang out. You gotta think bigger than that, we already know the stuff you're talking about.
I like George Carlin's take. The folks in charge were all educated at the same schools and go to the same country clubs and invest in the same stocks, ect. You don't need an overarching conspiracy theory to explain how they will all generally work toward the same goals guided by the same sense of self interest.
People forget that this is just like the Middle Ages but without the knights, castles, and better technology. Plus “nobility” isn’t solely determined by bloodlines. It still has a big influence however.
....... I have to keep reminding myself that this is not the widely accepted view of the world.... it's always been the ultra-wealthy vs. everyone else. And will continue to be until we nuke ourselves to oblivion.
Its the ultra wealthy acting out of self-interest while competing with each other, with normal people being collateral damage.
That's quite different to claiming that the ultra wealthy and political elite are all secretly best buds working together as a harmonious whole to further some mysterious goal. If one world government and total control was the goal and the conspiracy literally did include everyone with meaningful power, wealth, and influence, then they could make it happen in a week.
I agree wholeheartedly with you but think it's george carlin who said something along the line of : "they don't need to call a meeting, because they all agree on what's best for them. [...] it's a club, and you're not in it."
Which is chilling. Yes, they compete with each other, but only to keep each other in check or avoid new players to rise. As long as all of them are fed properly with money and power, they back up each other without exchanging a single word.
They hang out with each other across the globe. There are certain resorts only billionaires can get into, and I've read stories in like the Atlantic about the ultra rich all basically living in their own little world together in them, detached from our reality. It said it looks the same all over the world in those places.
Yeah, it’s actually more boring and shitty than that even though the basic premise ends up being correct. It’s more disconcerting though because there’s not a daddy pulling the strings making sure we don’t actually blow it all up.
Bad: There’s a colony of aliens underwater in a place we can’t scan. Worse: we find out cause they suddenly leave the warming planet
So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it's come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear?
last thursdayism
Interesting, but how does Last Thursdayism account for things like me distinctly remembering the shit show that happened at work last Wednesday night?
I don't subscribe to it, but I believe the implication is this:
When you were created last Thursday, you were created with the structures in your brain placed in just the right way so that they would contain a 'memory' of things that happened longer ago than last Thursday.
kinda like how any memory-modifying technology works in any scify, except that was your state at the beginning of the universe, and not something that modified your memory after the fact.
Well then someone fucked up because I don't remember most of my childhood.
You got the Trauma Package!
It never happened, but you and everyone else who you falsely remember being there were all created (last Thursday) with false memories of the "previous" day.
Those memories sprang into existence along with everything else.
That's bullshit, it was actually created last Tuesday.
You recant right now, you fucking heathen.
The China released the COVID virus to stop the Hong Kong Protests
I prefer the one that says China (in collaboration with the west) released the virus to cull elderly populations to delay upcoming demographic issues
So, I am a boomer. I remember the exact moment I heard that President Kennedy was assassinated. I was stepping into the school bus when I was in kindergarten. When I got home, my dad was crying in the dining room, and my mom shushed and hurried along my sister and me into our bedrooms. Somehow, in my little 5 year old mind, I knew that life as we hoped it would be was over. Maybe I heard stuff my dad said that I blocked out. I don’t know. But I believe with every fiber of my being that Oswald was a patsy, especially bc Jack Ruby shot him while in police custody. You know, having said all this, I wonder if this is why my generation is so prone to fall for conspiracy theories? And for that matter, succeeding generations?
My wife who is pretty much not a conspiracy theorist is listened to a podcast I think from PBS or NPR production and she is of this kind of belief as well. I don't know what to make of it and I've never bothered digging in but I think reasonable people ask questions in this case. Just like Epstein being able to kill himself. Many of the richest and most powerful people on the planet had a lot to gain from that happening and all the things aligned to enable it. Coincidence?
Maybe it was the Who Killed Kennedy podcast produced by Rob Reiner and Soledad O’Brien. It casts a lot of doubt on the lone gunman theory.
My dad is the smartest person I know and is very well read on history and politics. He doesn’t buy the conspiracies, so I’m inclined to believe him. But that podcast didn’t strike me as over-conspiratorial, and it made a lot of good points. So I’m not sure what to believe. But in my experience, disagreeing with my dad’s informed opinion on stuff like this has never been the smart move.
I have a feeling that. The undeniable fact that some of the conspiracies from around your era turned out to be 100% true, contributed to the public in general being more open to believing that more conspiracies were true.
The 1932-1972 syphilis experiment conducted by the government on innocent US citizens. All African Americans i believe.
The MKUltra experiments. The mere fact that mind control research was even attempted. Probably made it much easier to believe there was at least some success.
The 1990 testimony of Nayirah. The CIA taught a 15 year old child to lie about Iraqi conduct in Kuwait.
Mockingbird, COINTELPRO. As well as other questionable, secretive and covert activities. Coups in south America. Bay of pigs incident. Project 100 000 aka Mcnamara's morons. etc etc.
Don't get me wrong. Believing in any unfounded conspiracy theory in particular is still weird. But believing that there are no conspiracy theories going on at this very moment, is equally weird. And it's not about government being filled with shadowy, evil people. Good people can commit heinous crimes as well, if they genuinely believe they are doing good.
Maybe, I don't know how generations before baby boomers thought about conspiracy theories. But even in my generation (born in 87) a lot of us believe a "conspiracy theory" about JFK's assassination in some way. Its surprisingly common.
My Silent Gen parents were the salt-of the-earth types that believed what the government told them. We Gen X lived through all the buzz around Oliver Stone’s JFK when that film was a big deal. And then once again waiting on the CIA to de-classify the documents in the ‘90’s. It just keeps getting brought up, so I think more people are willing to entertain the idea that there are big things they’re not telling us and never will.
I think I saw a YouTube video a long time ago explaining the theory of the Russians being behind the JFK assassination and that one seemed the most legitimate to me. Russia has done numerous assassinations in other countries for years.
I believe Oswald fully intended to kill Kennedy independent of any encouragement or assistance, and was the sole shooter, but powerful forces in the intelligence community and organized crime created the perfect set of circumstances for the act to be carried out.
Are you familiar with Priscilla McMillan? She’s the only person known to have met both JFK and Lee Harvey Oswald; JFK when she was working as a senate aide and Oswald when working as a journalist in Moscow.
She wrote an excellent book, Marina and Lee, about Oswald. I really connected with her theory that the reason these conspiracy theories are so popular is that it just seems wrong that a great man could be taken out by an unremarkable, unintelligent, unstable guy like Oswald.
It’s similar to why 9/11 conspiracy theories are popular. People want an explanation that matches the gravity and randomness of the situation. A lone shooter killing the president or a semi-backwater terrorist group killing 3,000 people feels wrong like you said.
It’s also why people jump to conspiracies for accidents. They want an explanation so that the world isn’t a scary place that randomly kills you.
I’ll point out that there aren’t very many conspiracy theories for the assassination of Lord Mountbatten by the IRA in 1979, because an Irish republican paramilitary organisation blowing up a boat with a British royal on it makes sense. But there are plenty of theories about Omagh and Dublin and Monaghan because people don’t want to acknowledge the dead were randomly killed.
The fact the US govt does not release all details from the JFK assassination tells me enough.
Best theory I have ever heard is this. Oswald did fire a shot from the library but missed. The secret serviceman in the car, with a newly issued m16, stands and accidentally shoots Kennedy. They then just kinda let the conspiracy run vs saying the secret service is dog shit.
I love this theory. I feel like it squares the circle of Oswalds involvement and why the government is obscuring the evidence. I seem to remember there is speculation that the agent in question was a nepotism hire. I can only imagine the difficulty admitting that Jack hired a family friend as a bodyguard and that dude accidently shot the President of the United States in the back of the head at the first signs of trouble.
Even if it wasn’t nepotism it would be such a national embarrassment the country would never live it down. It would tarnish Kennedy’s image and the country. And the poor agent would be vilified for eternity. I think everyone just agreed to bury the story and decided people could speculate all they want there is no way we are letting people find out this happened.
Nazi’s on the moon would probably freak most people out
More than anything else, Flat Earth. There are around 1000 observatories operating globally. There are seventy-seven space agencies in operation around the world, sixteen with launch capabilities. Thirty countries operate bases in Antarctica. The first estimate of the globe's circumference was in 240 BC, over two thousand years ago. The first successful circumnavigation of the globe was in 1582, over four hundred years ago.
Across millennia, through the rise and fall of empires and the shifting of national allegiances, humanity has traveled the globe and observed the stars. In the last century and change, we've had the technology to go further and see farther than ever before. The deadliest of national rivalries all acknowledged and shared these facts about our universe.
And if Flat Earth "Theory" were correct, they have all lied. Many thousands of scientists from hundreds of nations across a dozen centuries would have all worked together to falsify the most basic facts of our planet and its place in the universe. If that were true, it would be unfathomable. Nothing written in history or science or geography texts could be trusted anymore. Everything we knew about whole fields of science would just no longer be.
My mind boggles at the idea. A deity's voice ringing out from the sky, simultaneously around the entire world and in whatever language the listener understands, to tell us which religion is true would be the only thing I can imagine that would be comparable in scale.
The fact that we are in a simulation.
If that comes to light quite literally everything will fall apart.
The bigger question would then be “How many layers deep are we?”. Is the world that created our simulation also a simulation?
Yea, and we’re just here to power some guy’s car.
“That's just slavery with extra steps”
Why? What’s the difference?
There shouldn't be any difference. We all get to the same finish line, we die. We should all live life to the fullest anyway.
If this is simulation, some people might think if we "log off" our current plane of existence, we will end up in "real world".
Practically? Nothing.
Philosophically? Everything.
Plot of the underrated film The Thirteenth Floor
All I know is that my simulated boss won't like me missing work just because of minor issues like "all of our perceived reality is a lie".
True, but it would have to come to light in a way where nobody could deny it (like missing textures in the sky where you could see the wireframe beneath).
There was a poster on /r/glitchinthematrix who claims he was hanging with a friend in a field when he happened to glance up. A large rectangular section of sky dimmed, sort of shivered and then went back to normal. He thought he’d imagined it until he glanced at his friend, who was also looking up. The friend says “Uh, I don’t think we were supposed to see that.” Yikes
Proof that one monotheistic religion is actually completely right, and all the others are wrong.
I think it would be even worse if we got actual proof that there is no supernatural being out there at all. Especially all these "morality wouldn't exist without (insert religion)" people would completely lose it. Or magine 70% of the world population suddenly realizing there is nothing after death. Well, many of them would probably live in denial for some time but if the evidence was so convincing even religious people would get it I think they would have a much harder time dealing than if they had to switch religion.
We have hundreds of years worth of evidence that dinosaurs existed and yet people still say they were put here by the devil.
We've known the Earth wasn't flat for hundreds of years and yet people still believe it's flat despite all of the evidence to the contrary.
Point being, no matter how convincing the evidence is there will still be people who will refuse to believe it.
Yeah they would just think it’s a test of fairh
You underestimate how many people live under the moral compass of religion, and the massive chaos it would induce. Imagine many millions of people suddenly going “fuck it” and breaking what you would consider human decency.
Really depends on the religion. I'm pretty sure that Jews would just be arguing about how to proceed, while stuffing their faces with bacon.
That the financial manager to the owner (Les Wexner) of the corporation (L Brands) that owns Victoria’s Secret was running an international pedophile sex trafficking ring.
He would fly world leaders, scientists, celebrities, British royal family members, pretty much anyone of any consequence over to his pedophile island.
He would then throw wild parties (with plenty of alcohol and drugs) where he would pair the consequential people he’d flown in with underage girls.
He would then send them off to sleep together in one of his many bedrooms that were wired for sound and video to secretly record the sexual activities.
He would amass a huge digital cache of very important people in compromising sexual positions with underage girls.
He would use this digital archive of secretly recorded sex between people of consequence and underage girls as blackmail against the most powerful people in the world.
He would get away with being a serial child sex trafficker and pedophile for decades because of all the blackmail he had (and would threaten to expose) on important people.
Eventually, he would be arrested and arraigned for trial, but die under very mysterious circumstances in a maximum security federal prison while awaiting trial.
His death would be labeled as suicide but a subsequent autopsy would conclusively prove that he was murdered.
The secret archive of sex videos secretly recorded at his pedophile Island would never surface.
Upon hearing this wild true story, regular people would lose trust in the US justice system and buy into other non-factual conspiracy theories. These alternative facts and conspiracy theories would pave the way for a fascist takeover of America by an authoritarian leader.
You totally threw me with this. My first thought was, "Holy shit this is exactly what happened to Jeffrey Epstein who didn't kill himself."
Would not surprise me at all if Epstein was not the mastermind.
You’re so close. Not even kidding, Epstein was the #2 in the operation. The face man. Maxwell was his handler, a Mossad agent. Her father was a Mossad agent, buried with honors, funeral attended by former heads of the Mossad. Her sister’s company wrote the software the US government bought to unify the databases of the FBI and other intelligence agencies after 9/11.
All of the above is easily publicly verifiable.
There was an episode of South Park about this where the conspiracy that “9/11 is an inside job” was created by the government to cover up it not being an inside job. That way it looks like the government is more in control than they actually are.
Shapeshifters live among us
The dark forest theory. That states that in a dark forest, animals don't make lots of noise to don't grab the predators attention, and space is really quiet from that, intelligent civilizations are hiding themselves, and we are just screaming and revealing our position on the universe for free.
Not sure that's a conspiracy theory, though.
It's not.
Fear not. Space is so large that we are unlikely to survive as a species long enough so that an advanced civilization could reach us and wipe us out. They’re probably still chasing down the last 5-6 whose signals they intercepted but have subsequently died out.
Also, if by some miracle we have survived as a species by the time another one comes to check, they’re going to arrive expecting a civilization that uses radio. We will have had millions of years of advancement since then. Presumably as they get closer they’ll be able to see our progress, but eventually we will wise up and stop broadcasting. So they’ll be scared away.
So they’ll be scared away.
Or there could be a Type 3 civilization laughing at this right now.
I have a theory that maybe we’re the aliens. As in, say there’s a planet with human(like) life out in the sombrero galaxy or andromeda, but they’re still in caveman days. What if we invent a FTL engine in the next 100 years by some breakthrough and we visit, only to find that we’re the ones with vastly superior technology.
Even this logic makes absolutely no sense lol.
Any intelligent species is going to be aware of the potential rate of technological advancement of any other intelligent species. Any intelligent species will be able to measure how long it takes for any particular medium to transmit information that they can receive and interpret. Any intelligent species will therefore be aware that by the time they receive most forms of messages from another intelligent species, that species could have already had a massive amount of technological progress.
The entire issue with dark forest theory is that those spurts of massive technological advancement could theoretically easily outpace the advancement of the species receiving the message. Therefore, the only logical thing for a species to do upon receiving a message from another species is to strike first, and utterly obliterate the sender lest they outpace your level of technology and obliterate you.
This was explained in the book / series The Three Body Problem
Hollow Earth would fundamentally change everything
The SCP foundation being real
That this was all just a dream in a snow globe.
Ah, the St. Elsewhere conspiracy theory
extra terrestrials walk among us
The whole Satan worshipping pedo thing would be very very upending.
A pedo ring has been in the news for years!! The case is still on-going! It’s likely several US presidents were banging young girls! And a member of the British royal family!
Just missing the Satanic bit.
Eh, we regularly have God worshipping pedo things popping up and people seem to turn a blind eye to it.
Simulation.
But that isn't a conspiracy theory. It's just a fringe science theory that many enjoy as a thought experiment.
Also the theory that all of this is just a dream of an entity and we're all just neurons firing. If the entity ever wakes up, we'll all disappear.
If true, all we need is an absurdly huge alarm clock.
I'm not saying it's aliens....but it's aliens.
9/11 was an inside job. If the public found out the government faked an attack to start a war and plunder gold I think they'd be grumpy.
But still wouldn't do shit.
Yea some would protest, some would be like we knew it and some would be like who cares. At the end of the day, nothing will change.
If the earth was flat, cats would’ve pushed everything off of it by now.
That televangelist god is real, and we're all gonna burn in hell forever except the people who gave money to Jimmie Swaggart in the 80's
CIA killed Kennedy.
None, you'd still have to go to work on Monday.
I don't actually think it would upend society, but there are pretty solid reasons to seriously consider that a non-human intelligence has previously interacted with us and continues to interact with us, and that our history as a species is not what we've been told.
None of them. Several conspiracy theories and fringe science ideas have been proven and are nowadays accepted. Nothing changed.
Edward Snowden, Panama Papers, Wikileaks, STUXNET, MK-UKTRA, CIA involvement in South America, CIA involvement with artists, birds being dinosaurs, tectonic shifts, anthropogenic climate change... They're all accepted nowadays and when they were happening people thought it was crazy
Despite all your voting, it does not change out the powers that be.
The people who "really" control the world. And some of their families have done so for centuries. They literally own the system by which you elect your representatives. It's puppet A on one hand and puppet B on the other. With them in the middle controlling the whole damn thing.
Prime example in prime time? This monkey show between Trump and Biden. You think either of them represent anything outside their own interests?
I, want to talk to the folks in the middle. Cause I got a bone to pick with you... So do 330 million other people.
IF they knew.
That the billionaires of the world orchestrated the pandemic to get everyone to vaccinate because the vaccine is poisonous and everyone who got vaxed is going to die so that the billionaires can be the only humans left alive. Robots and AI will perform the labor that currently other humans do. Also Satan is involved somehow? I'm pretty sure this is actually one of the narratives Alex Jones pushes on his show regularly.
There's easier ways to kill everyone though..
Matrix
You are in a pod being fed a simulation and the rest of us don't even exist.
I read the other day that Michael Jackson's daughter looks like Madonna, even i saw pictures and she looks a lot like her.
Kubrik’s moon landing
Maybe the shapeshifting aliens are here on earth and they run everything and tell the government what to do theory.
