I have one as well but selling for $75. Buy theirs first. I will list properly only if you’re interested.

Consensus is Topo low tops, not water proof. That’s what I’m going to do. Thanks

I’m leading into topo traverse. Altra is history

Still stuck on footwear for the collegiate loop in July/August. Advice?GEAR

debating whether to go with the low top not WP Topo Athletic Traverse (supposedly designed for thru hiking) or their terraventure 4 boot wp (now discontinued) for the collegiate loop in late July. Probably 16 days at 12 miles/day.

I’ve tried Hoka’s and the Salomon — both are great but still narrow in the toe.

My last CT section hike from Durango to section 22, i was in a pair of Altra WP boots. But that was when they were made with some level of quality. They wore out before getting off the trail. Can’t say that I can go back to Altras.

Need a wide toe box. Will a low top, non wp hiker, dry out after an afternoon thunderstorm? Or, will my feet go cold. Only carrying 3 pairs of sox and liners.

What other options? recommendations?

In my mind UL is sub 2. Light weight would be sub 4. Mystery ranch radix 47 is 3.5lbs opens from the front and top.

This would be a gift for a once a year backpacker

Altra lone peak 4 mid was my favorite. They screwed up after that. Quality went down hill. Lots of trial and error to find what works. Most boots were fine. Not great. Note in hoka Kaha 2

Lightweight thru hiking Boots. Any advice on any of these Keen Targhee ii wp, iv wp, keen Durand, Hoka Kaha 2 GTX GEAR

need a "wide" for older toes. Altra quality sucks. used to be a go to. Top Athletic make my feet sweat. Leaning towards the Hoka Kaha 2 GTX. But Keen has nice wide toe boxes and have a decent reputation. advice? Thoughts?

Any one know how to trim 20-30 miles off this

Patagonia air thermals. very light. very warm. I add the enlightened equipment booties. Everything is toasty

do it. they don't care. I used to worry about this kind of stuff. But REI's policies are pretty generous.

First. I’m not selling one. Second join r/geartrade or r/ulgeartrade. Join them then search. Read the rules. Not hard.

Im done with the altra shoes. ever since they were bought by VF corp. quality. durability. gone downhill. disappointing too.

kakwa 55. great price. lots of room. s

i carry a 2l cnoc for dirty water. rarely full unless carrying over a long dry stretch over 12 miles. mostly use for dinner and breakfast boils. two 1L smartwater filtered with hose.

no brainer. I made my own. looks exactly that one!

I did not have surgery. I just live with two torn meniscus. And rely on stokos. They have a sale I think this week. And an excellent return policy. And they require you to try them for at least a month. They’re pretty hard to get on at first, but after that you’ll get the hang of it.

Actually, weighed them the other day! the K1 Summits for skiing are kind of warm and will do for most skiing days 30F degrees and up. They weigh 11.1oz. The Stoko Flux, I wear to walk the huskies, play pickleball and hike. They weigh 10.8oz. But they feel so much lighter because they have a fair amount a breathable fabric compared to the thermal fabric used in the K1 Summits. So even though the weight is barely a 4oz. difference, because of the different fabrics and purposes, the K1 Flux feels much lighter.

Note: I had tried the Bracelayer KS model. It also weighed 10.8oz. But felt heavier than the stokos. Not as supportive as the stokos. I returned them.

I’ve posted elsewhere about these. I love mine. Have two pairs. One for skiing and one for pickleball

Love my Stoko’s, but have not had surgery. You can try them for 60 days. They’re really good about returns. I have two pairs. One for skiing and one for everything else.
