Nobody here is interested in harassing minimum wage workers or management. They have zero control over how the company profiteers off gouging.

Our plan would be to put a retaining wall. Would that help our cause at all?

Still considered quite taboo in my friend group (though I am only 26), so no to friends. Luckily my partner shares a FI mentality.

Thank you for your response, that's what we will probably do! :)

Thanks for your reply. We do not live in a very humid area, it's pretty dry for the most part. Ideally concrete foundation is the way to go but unfortunately our local real estate is pretty messed up atm and every house seemingly has issues. From our research it seems like if done correctly it can last for 100 years or more. Unfortunately we are just relatively inexperienced and were hoping for some key identifiers for quality of installation before taking the risk and spending potentially $1k for an inspection.

Permanent Wood Foundations!

Looking at purchasing a home with a newly constructed garage addition that is a permanent wood foundation on a concrete slab. It's nearly finished, but obviously there are a few things that are needed until it is complete. If anyone has any experience with PWFs as a buyer, what are some obvious red flags that I should look for? Is there anything about this picture that is an immediate red flag besides the fact that it is missing a few finishing touches for the PWF? Is that wet spot above grade indicative of poor drainage along the PWF? There also seems to be a rip in the film from backfilling. Is this something that can be patched and repaired?

Permanent Wood Foundation Addition on Home

Yup BC, like the shittiest part of BC lol. I swear to god the local real estate agents are conspiring to keep listing prices high af. There’s only been a handful of houses sold in the last couple of months in my jurisdiction despite there being 150+ listings lmfao.

Where are you located? I wish my local market was like this. Agents are listing things that sold in 2022 for 100k more, and over 150k greater than the assessed value.

Save on foods and Safeway are next on my list to phase out. Haven’t shopped at any loblaws owned stores in over two months now.

Girlfriend has a sutra and I am jealous everyday of it. That thing rides so comfortably and smooth.

This is the first time I’ve heard of an actual protest, noted. Will spread the word 👍

I believe the term everyone is looking for is neo-indentured servitude. While we all fight for indigenous reclamation and apologies, we’re actively taking in migrant servants by the MILLIONS that live in absolute squalor so corporations can continue their record profits stemming from the pandemic. Why aren’t people talking about the parallels here between colonialism and the active situation? Sure we aren’t overtaking land resources but our government is actively looking to scam and sell the “Canadian dream” to impoverished immigrants. Total exploitation.

Maybe this is what happens when Reddit becomes publicly traded and corporations like loblaws can finally pay someone off to introduce censorship for things like this lol.

Side note though: my Reddit is showing me 574 upvotes and 84 comments for this post. Maybe your app is glitching?

It’s so funny how three years ago we all had to stay home to help our healthcare system deal with the burden of covid (as well as protect others). How many millions did we add in since? How’s our healthcare system doing now lol

Yeah I guess BLM was much more clearly divided left vs right. I think you’re right, when the scope is larger there is a more diverse group, more extremists, and people have an issue with morally aligning with the radical right/left. Idk I wish people could compartmentalize it better tho and change their perspective to allow them to unify over a common issue but yet agree to disagree over other reasons.
