Disposable plates and utensils, so while you MAY discard your things, you're welcome to leave it on the table and we bus and wipe down. We also remove empty plates while you're seated and top off coffee when there's a fresh pot. Oh, most drinks are self serve (there's a coffee bar with various creamers, flavored syrups, as well as homemade iced tea and lemonade) but we make espresso drinks and milkshakes, smoothies, etc. We don't expect tips, and don't ask for them, but we do appreciate it when we get them. :p
I worked in a bakery and when people told me names to write on cakes, I'd always ask for the spelling. Even for basic names I'd be like, "That's S-T-EV-E?" And sometimes they'd look at me like I'm stupid. :(
Just out of curiosity, what if you stand and place your order at the counter, but then they serve your food to your table and bring utensils, condiments, etc for you?

We have one of these, the doorbell is on the front door, at doorbell height, a bit over the knob. Absolutely nobody seems to understand it's a doorbell and everyone knocks, which we can't hear, because it's an outer door to an entryway.
Though, breaking up due to sexual incompatibility is also reasonable.
