Yeah but those shows are out-and-out sitcoms, where characters would very often be irrational and bizarre if they were real people. In this show it sticks out a bit, I don't hate it but just an observation. There is a bit of Stiller-esque surrealist humour in the show.

Yes there are absolutely proper traders (not just arbs) in the sports/racing betting scene. Serious traders bet on exchanges where the odds are fairer and they charge commission on winnings instead of adding margin to their odds. Admittedly I regret using that phrase, I really don't like it and it's why I used inverted commas. I refer to Trump and Palestine in that way because the impact our politics can have on those issues is vanishingly small compared to domestic ones. I see little point in ventilating them other than for purely ideological/moral reasons. My perception is that the party supposedly on the side of renters, for example, is not making terribly much noise in the wake of the budget about Labor's inaction on housing affordability.

This was in the context of the coalition asking questions like, 'will the government commit to refusing to cooperate with the Greens' etc.

I say this as someone who is sympathetic but somewhat ambivalent about the Greens - they have been getting really disrespected by the major parties and particularly Labor. Most of their questions I've seen lately are met with a palpable roll of the eyes, exaggerated groaning, and a sarcastic answer.
