Hi everyone, my family is considering relocating to Portugal. I've always wanted to live in Europe, but this Portugal idea is a bit new to me, and I realize I don't actually know much about this country other than some history.

The research I've done so far has been fairly inconclusive, with half saying Portuguese people are very welcoming and easy to make friends with, and half saying they are hard to make friends with as an outsider.

We are mostly looking to move to somewhere around Porto. I hear people are friendlier up north? šŸ˜…

So I guess what I'm asking is, on a scale of Finland to Italy, how outgoing are the Portuguese? Is it a "loud" culture or is it considered weird to make a scene in public? Are there enough "3rd spaces" where people meet friends outside of work, home and restaurants? Do people regularly invite each other to just hang out after work, or is meeting friends an event you need to put in your calendar?

I am 29, so I'm mostly interested in the younger demographics here.
