Private yes. Not in the nhs dime though.
https://mriplus.co.uk/body-parts/full-body-scan and tons of other providers. The real question is - is it useful or not? What happens if you spot an anomaly - do you do an invasive biopsy or not? It opens a Pandora’s box which might create more problems than it solves. Most people will have various anomalies on a scan but it doesn’t mean it’s dangerous or life threatening.
Hey, thank you very much! I appreciate the link. :)
probably not, no
If you want to pay for an "Executive Physical", you can ask for stuff like that. This London provider offers a list of imaging options you might ask to include:
CT Coronary Artery Calcium Score (CT Scan)
CT Carotid Angiogram
CT Coronary Angiogram
Fibro Scan Liver
Abdominal Ultrasound Scan
CT Colonography
Colonoscopy
CT Chest - Lungs
Baseline Bone Density Scan (DEXA)
Transvaginal Ultrasound
Mammogram/ Ultrasound
Brain MRI
Pelvic MRI
Prostate MRI
Another provider, Cromwell Hospital offers a cost estimate for one of their programs:
This assessment costs £7,445 for the male package and £8,870 for the female package.
And keep in mind that all those CT scans would amount to a fair bit of ionizing radiation 😏
You can, but you will be doing it privately so you would be paying for it.
I would maybe suggest that counselling for health anxiety could be more beneficial and cost effective, if you are worried about your health and this is the reasoning for wanting the full MRI.
If you aren’t anxious, and just have the money to spend and want to do it, then go ahead and do it - why not.
