As for glove-removal etiquette, the victorians didn’t really eat standing up. You know how of you brush curly hair, it gets big and less defined, but when curly hair dries without being touched much, the hair starts to find friends with a similar curl pattern, clumping into more defined waves and coils, what you might call a ‘lock of hair’? I think this would be awfully difficult to cut from a saree- this gown is bias-cut, and sarees aren’t. The dress lays and drapes like that because whole pattern is placed at a 45 degree angle on the fabric before it’s cut, rather than having the piece be straight up and down or side to side.
