Quick question about hotels/itinerary. Going with tweens who love to hike at end of August. I have 5 nights I can spend in the park, coming from Bozeman. Should we do 2 nights at the OF Snow Lodge and 3 in Canyon Lodge....or any other recommendation to split the nights/stay based on location/driving.

Excited about finalizing plans for first trip to Yellowstone at the end of this summer (middle August), 3 kids with youngest 8 and all 3 love hiking/outdoors. Flying in to Bozeman and planning to stay 5 nights in Yellowstone. I have options to stay at Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Canyon Lodge. I was thinking first 2 nights at the Snow Lodge and 3 in Canyon...any recommendations? And how would you split the days? Or just stay all 5 at Canyon?
On the return will do 2 nights in Grand Teton and then fly back from SLC. Any recommended places to stay in Jackson/GT?
BTW summer prices are crazy!

Is taking the ferry from Wellington a quintessential experience? I'm leaning towards just flying from Wellington to Queenstown to save time...but we would miss Abel Tasman National Park which also looks amazing.
How about in first week of June though? I was thinking South Island will be much colder and potential storms etc so that's why I wanted to split the trip.
Is there a major chance first week of June of not being able to access Mt Cook, Milford Sound etc?
If I use my United mileage plus CC to purchase tickets in Air NZ, will I still get double miles? I was thinking probably not.
My concern is that if I book the tickets directly on United for the Air NZ flight, I won't be able to get the skycouch. Anyone know if I can call Air NZ after the purchase and get that done after the booking?

Has anyone had success transferring Chase points to Air NZ? It's not clear to me how redemption works with Air NZ or if it's worth the hassle to get a better exchange rate.

Heading from Houston to Auckland in May economy. Booked on Air NZ via United points. Is there any chance or way to bid for an upgrade to Premium Economy or Business? I have more points but those seats seem to be taken. I check regularly. Anything else I can do?
Planning a 2 week trip at the end of May and beginning of June from US. Will arrive in Auckland and explore North Island for about 5-6 days then have option to fly down to South Island. We plan to do hiking and mostly outdoor activities with 3 kids.
Trying to decide if we should fly back to US from Christchurch or Queenstown?
CHC is about $70 cheaper so not a huge deal, but wondering if weather in the first week of June will be too unpredictable to leave from QT. I have read the drive towards QT is more epic in that direction.
Also, first week of June, will it be possible to drive to Milford Sound or will we need to book a tour group from QT and take the coach?

Can you do astrophotography with Pixel 8 or only the Pro?
Sort of a weird update, but I called Air NZ and they said there is still redemption available for United seats in Economy and Economy Plus for the nonstop flight. Then, I called United and they told me it's not available. What does that mean? Will it come back up? Why would the host airline Air NZ say there's more united redemption seats but United won't make them available? Anyone with experience on this?
I tried checking every site to see if I could get on the same flight using miles but everything has disappeared now for that specific nonstop flight. Should I just bite the bullet and pay full price? Or is there a chance that something will become available if someone cancels. The double whammy is that the sale on economy tickets ended and the price went up $600!
(I did learn that buying one way flights originating from NZ is half price, but buying originating from US is much more expensive. That's why I was trying to get the one way there using points)

Maxey, FRP 26,28, 30 and swaps in between is probably the best offer they can do. Even if Trae demands a trade and only wants the Sixers I think given the number of years left we could probably get a better partner to give more than just Maxey and picks.
