I’ve been seeing the same dentist in Manhattan for 15 years and it looks like I’ll be keeping him when I move up full time this summer. Give them a call bc they accept most insurance and the receptionist is really good at her job and can tell you for sure.
Unit next to me in my building was under contract in 2 weeks and went for a little under market to a cash offer though there were higher offers with conventional financing. Idk what the sellers were thinking tbh.
I’m looking to sell soon as well and my realtor is confident we can get it sold quickly for the price I need to break even.
Yeah it cleared up here right before sunset so I went out every 30 min to check thanks to my dad who is 2500 miles away but also a science/space nerd
No idea about this particular event but every explosion I’ve hear at a place I’ve lived was a transformer blowing. It’s crazy loud
Lol capitalization in title due to me texting friends to go outside immediately
From what I can tell it’s not prohibited—I looked at a lot links a few weeks back. The NYDEC considers the American and European species basically indistinguishable and the European one is also considered an invasive plant and I don’t tend to feel as bad foraging those. I definitely use responsible foraging practices for natives and plants relied on by wildlife for food.
Following this bc there are a ton on my property right now. I’m still working my way through the garlic mustard pesto I made 2 weeks ago.
It’s fledgling season, this is pretty normal and very likely it’s mom is nearby. If the bird is in immediate danger you can move it to a safer location very close by (example—moving it from the street/gutter to a flower bed near a building)
For any dog owners reading this and saying ‘well what do you want me to do’—there is a solution that lets you not smell dog shit your whole hike. Ruffwear makes a Pack Out Bag that’s smell proof and specifically for this. Holds empty bags in a dispenser and full bags in a smell proof zipper pouch.
Plenty of other brands make them too, this is just the one I have and like.

Email Mario Patruno’s office your complaint and the address—he’s the Construction Code Official for the city . This happened to me—a new building on my block was shining floodlights into my apartment while they worked until 11pm. I wrote to him the day after and it never happened again.
With the flavors of the dish I’d probably lean more towards a lighter flavor to balance all the strong acid/umami flavors in the tartare. Probably something with soju/sochu and yuzu. Or if you wanted to keep it on the less sweet side you could even play with tea—I really like oolong infused gin. Doesn’t take long, don’t steep more than an hour before you taste it.
USPS will not ship it. It’s illegal to ship via FedEx or UPS without a license.
Best bet is to pack it yourself very well, seal it up and say it’s olive oil if asked. Buy a wine bottle shaped shipping sleeve then pack in a box with packing peanuts or buy a bottle shipping kit from Uline that fits your bottle.
Yeah I work in NYC and most of the clientele for higher end dining is drinking wine and spirits, so beer takes the backseat. A lot of the time these places order beer the owner or the bar manager likes to drink because it’s not a mover.
Depending on your state, local breweries may not be able to self distribute and many don’t want to deal with signing with a local distributor. Or the local distributor doesn’t want to take on a brand with not much volume and shorter code dates on their products. Larger national breweries produce beer that is typically good for 150 days but most local stuff is 60 days or so before it codes or must be stored cold which bars also hate if they don’t have a big cooler. I have friends who worked for Other Half and Lawsons in sales and if a bar won’t agree to their storage/service standards, no beer for them.
Additionally, many restaurants don’t want to work with a distributor that’s outside the Red (Bud) or Blue (Miller Coors) networks. So signing with a smaller craft distributor closes a lot of doors. Getting a bar manager to sign up for an account with a new alcohol distributor is like pulling teeth most of the time.
South Mountain Reservation via NJ Transit to Millburn. Lots of ramps and I’ve found oyster mushrooms as well
They tried to switch mine even after I’d opted out, I got an email notification and stopped it before it went through
It’s probably the difference between the city being co-op buildings v Hoboken being primarily condos. I initially wanted to buy in Brooklyn 7 years ago but similarly priced units there also came with a $800-1200 monthly co-op fee. Meanwhile my condo fee here is $400/month
If you don’t have specific dates in mind, Spruceton Inn just opened their books for the season and has some rooms available at the end of May and end of June currently. It’s $199/night and so cute.
Hi it’s me your downstairs neighbor. JK mine are at a bar now and will be back to stomp around 2:30am
I don’t have any specific recommendations but I will say that I had a similar issue when I first moved to Hoboken and adjusted to the noise after about 6 months. Even that one garbage guy that whistles super loud nonstop rarely wakes me up anymore.
Also check out Keaton Quilts, which is now the only quilt store in Manhattan. They opened the end of last year.
Anything that’s purported to be medicinal and not prescribed to him needs to be discussed with his oncologist first. I get it cancer sucks, lost my husband to it, but doing anything outside his treatment plan could result in additional suffering or premature death. People will give you all sorts of ‘cures’ that are bullshit
Dad trying to eat these??
