I can’t help you much with Irish whiskey and scotch but if I had to start my collection again here are some things I might get.

Scotch: See others recommendations not mine for this.
Find what you like and go from there. What that means is figuring out why you like it. What’s the mash bill. How and how long was it aged. What type of barrel was it aged in. Who distilled it. That will make it easier to find either stuff you like or easier to try new stuff.
You can get into higher proof and finished stuff later.

I worked there for a few years and many of my personal friends work there still. I’m just giving my anecdotal experience.
The crazy advice is joining Amazon in general. There has been a crazy shift. Every team in Amazon is terrible now for the same reasons people said not to join AWS in the past. At least AWS has some organization and smart engineers. Everywhere else is a shit show and equally as busy and stressful
Join and team hop till you feel like you’re somewhere you like. Don’t stay for friendly coworkers. Make sure you join a team that has a PM or product guy if not you will be doing 3 peoples jobs. When picking teams see how much documentation they have. Most teams will have 0 docs other than crappy overly long LLD and HLD’s. Join AWS. before aws was known to be the crazy busy place and everywhere else was chill. Now all the other orgs have been gutted and everyone is extremely busy but they don’t have the organization or talent of AWS.

Get leetcode premium and do the common Amazon questions. Practice the STAR method. I will say thought it’s not a great time to join Amazon. So unless they give you the bag run away

I’ll be camping this coming weekend and I was wondering if the weekend 1 folks saw if they were selling canopies in the camp store again this year. Flying in and my group was thinking of just splitting one and donating it after since we are flying in.

Don’t force yourself to like it neat. Toss an ice cube in it and see if you like it and work up. Make some mezcal old fashions / mezcal Negronis to get a taste for it. Work up to it it’s a journey not a destination. Enjoy it! Could go cocktails -> on the rocks -> an ice cube -> a drop of water -> neat or just stop at any of those steps until you feel comfortable/ bored.
